The best earbuds currently available

Remember that scene in Old School where the guys were taking the test, and they had those tiny earbuds? You could barely see them, and there were no wires at all to be seen? That has been my dream. With each new wireless music product, it feels like it's been getting closer and closer to reality. When I first saw Earin crowdfunding online, I was blown away. Unfortunately, I missed the chance to get in on the funding stage, and I was not able to get through to the couple of online presales they had. Imagine my surprise when a week ago I was browsing around online and saw that many of the Best Buys had received some pairs. I checked my local one, and they actually had them and in stock! I had just purchased a new pair of Jaybird X2 earbuds, and I immediately returned them and got the Earin instead. While the Earin earbuds aren't perfect (and why would we expect any 1st generation product to be?), I've had these for a week now, and I'm very happy with them.
I feel that these compare very favorably with my Jaybird Bluebuds X and the Jaybird X2. Up until now, the Jaybirds have been the gold standard that I've compared every other set of wireless headphones/earbuds to, but the Earins have taken that spot.
Positives:
-I feel the connectivity is the same as the Jaybird X2, which is to say really good. I've had almost no connection issues. I use these with an iPhone 6 Plus as well as a G-Cord Bluetooth Transmitter (to transmit sound from the TV on the treadmill) and with about 10 hours of use so far, I've only had the right earbud drop out twice for less than a second each time. And those both happened the first day I've been using them, and I haven't had it happen since. I've had my phone in my pants pocket, my jacket pocket, and in my fanny pack (because I'm cool like that), and I've had no problems with connections at all.
I find the sound quality to be as good as you're going to get from bluetooth. They sound really good, and I don't think any wireless headphones or earbuds would sound better. My tastes in music tend to run the gambit, but are mostly focused on Hard/Classic rock, and I like how the music sounds. I did use their app the turn on Bass Boost, and I think it sounds better that way. It doesn't sound overpowering or thumping though. Volume is really good through the phone, and since they seal so completely, I don't have to turn them very loudly, even in the middle of the gym. When I use the G-Cord, I have to crank the volume all the way up on the treadmill TV, and even then they're not loud enough. But I'm sure that's a limitation with the transmitter, and not the Earins.
The comfort is better than any wireless earbuds I've ever tried before. I have warn my Earins for up to 2 1/2 hours, and my ears do not get sore at all. With the Jaybirds, I can wear them for about an hour before my ears start to get sore. I've tried all kinds of combination of tips and it doesn't help. I think it has to do with their size more than anything. The Earins are so small and light, they feel great. I've also run a 5K with the Earins, and they did great staying where they should be. I ran it without the stabilizers, and they did really well staying in place. One ear was rock solid, and the other would start to move a little every 5-10 minutes, so I'd just push it back in and no problem. I'm assuming my ear canals are slightly different to cause this. With the stabilizers, I get no movement at all. However, they're not quite as comfortable with the stabilizers (but still feel pretty good).
Negatives:
-However, things are not quiet perfect with the Earins. There are some negatives, and while they're pretty minor on their own, adding them up knocks the review down a star. First of all, I wish the battery life was better. I don't think it's possible at this time to get any better battery life out of them without making them bigger and heavier, but I'm sure in a couple of years we'll see an improvement.
-Secondly, I wish it had a button on each earbud. I miss being able to skip a song or pause by hitting a button on the earbuds, especially when my phone is put away when I'm running. Again, this would add size and weight, so maybe in a year or two, the new version could incorporate this.
-Finally, I wish they had some sort of microphone in them to make phone calls. While I understand that this again would add bulk and weight, it would be much more convenient to be able to answer phone calls with the phone put away. None of these negatives would cause me to get rid of the earbuds, but the annoyances do add up.
Overall, I think these are pretty much the best earbuds available right now. There's some other small-sized bluetooth wire-free earbuds out this year, and they may give the Earin buds a run for thier money, but especially as a 1st generation product, these are amazing. I would totally recommend these earbuds to anyone, and I feel they are worth the premium price.

Awesome Sound

Wow, headphones that are truly wireless! The sound from these headphones is truly awesome, enough cannot be said about them. The lone glitch is the occasional "drop out" of the right side phone that other reviewers have reported. I have only encountered it sporadically, but it is there. Usually, the "drop out" is just a second or so, but enough that you notice it. I use these headphones while at the gym and don't experience the issue much, and to be completely wireless is awesome!!

Read all the reviews and yes, there are some shortcomings but . . . . . I wouldn't trade mine for the world. Take them everywhere I go!
Keys, wallet, cell phone, pocket knife, Earin's.
That's how I roll every day. Liked them so much I got two pair in case anything happens to them so I'll have back up! Go ahead . . . . .there's nothing like them, but there soon will be I'm sure. These were my first though, and there's nothing like your first! ;)

Great headphones with some negatives

These headphones are great for a specific purpose. I read the mixed reviews and decided to give these a try anyway. These headphones have one of the best designs in terms of build materials and compactness that I have ever seen on wireless headphones yet. I am a music lover and am on the go a lot. I love being able to carry these with me wherever I go. The sound quality is good compared to other headphones, however the right bud does drop out for a second from time to time. This did not happen enough to bother my listening experience though. The battery lasts for about 2 hrs per charge, but the capsule will charge them 3 times. They are very comfortable and block out external sound well. Now the negatives. These do not have built in controls, but if you have a smart watch like myself, they are the perfect compliment. You just control them through your watch. The next negative is that they cannot receive and make phone calls. This is an annoyance at most and I think will be added with the next version. Overall these are very portable with decent sound and exactly formwise what I have been looking for. I had to go Back to the Future of 2015 to get them, but they are almost perfect. I still can't find a real hoverboard yet, as these fake ones have wheels still and seem to blow up. I hope this helps you in deciding whether these will meet your needs. They sure met mine. And I also recommend the Best Buy warranty on these. They are a fist gen product with many components that could have issues or break down the road. The future hasn't been written yet on the longevity of these.

The earbuds constantly drop connection, and have difficulty re-synching. I took the set back to Best Buy for exchange, who explained that due to the manufacturer- I cannot return the item, and have to contact the manufacturer directly to fix the pair I have. Very disappointed to spend so much and not be able to exchange. I'll send them back to the manufacturer but find myself not wanting to work so hard to hear music on a devise. Should've stuck with B&O or Bose.

They sound great. I do not know if they have noise cancelling but you cannot hear anything outside which is great. Very small so make sure not to lose them. There are no buttons or switches so they activate when you remove them from the charger. I love these buds but they do not have a MIC. Charging dock is very neat.

Honest review from a Kickstarter Backer and Retail

So i was a backer for these earbuds but decided to walk into my Best Buy and purchase a pair because i couldn't wait to receive them.
Packaging was nice. You get a wooden magnetic box that comes with a pair of Earin earbuds, charger, cable, ear support and some soft foams tips. Takes about a hour and a half to charge the buds, While the capsule took 2 and half hours.
Size-
They are on the big size but i had no problem sticking them in my ear and fitting. They do stick out a bit but nothing like Frankenstein. Better fit and not as big as the Jaybirds.
Pairing-
Taking them out of the capsule does not always connect to my iphone. Sometimes you have to place them back in the capsule then take them out again and it will pair with your phone or device. At first only the slave L would connect but the R (Right earbud) would not. On my third try, i got sound from both sides of the earbuds. This means the capsule must be with you at all times if there are drop outs that cannot reconnect.
Sound Quality-
Not the best but its is acceptable for what they are. Its on the low side but had no problems hearing and can reach a loudness that would be too loud.
App-
The app you can give them a pre set bass boost and thats about it.
You can also change the balance and the app is the only way to show you how much battery your buds have left. The left bud will always be lower on battery because its doing all the work. App needs more work with the ability to adjust sound options.
Battery life-
I was able to get about 3 hours out of a full charge so this is good.
The capsule itself i have yet to test.
Big Problem
This earbuds are only good for music and thats it.
If you watch videos or youtube, the sound would be .5 seconds behind due to the sound going to the L earbuds and having to sync to the R earbuds. This delay will shows the audio and peoples lips out of sync. They do still work but i don't think there would be a fix for this because of the technology.
Drop outs
When they work, they are great.. Drop outs do occur and its only on the Right earbud. They are only for a split second and does not spoil the overall experience. At times i did go through 5 songs without one so its base on where you are at with what interference around you. The range of the bluetooth connectivity is great though. I was able to get about 30-40 feet without breakup or loosing connection.
Overall
Great for music, good battery, the sound quality could be better. When they are sync and working they are great. But when you get dropouts and the loose connection and have to stick them in the capsule to reset sucks. For $250 it is a bit expensive but they are second to the market with a bluetooth earbuds (first was syllable d900). With more coming out to the market in the next several months i would wait to see before buying this. If you need the latest and greatest now and a wireless bluetooth earbuds for music only then give Earin a try. Overall i would give them a 3 out of 5. For the Company Earin though, thats another story.

Is it worth it? My honest review.

Intro: This is the ideal earphones I have been dreaming about since I first purchased wireless bluetooth's. Finally, a set of fully wireless earphones! Something I can be in the gym, walking, or on the plane without worrying about stupid wires. I have many other "high-priced" bluetooth earpieces before so my degree of expertise is somewhat experienced. I use my bluetooth everyday. I gym daily, travel often, and listen to music while working.
Build Quality:
First of all build quality is ok. The charging capsule itself is made of a thin aluminum. Looks good, scratches easy, feels cheap. Feels almost plastic. But its a carry case/charging capsule, so who cares. The inside slots of the charging capsule is made of plastic. I don't want to be particular but it will break easily if you put the buds in wrong and force it close. It probably will break easier than not. The ear buds themselves are plastic. Feels extra cheap. For $250 your not paying for material here at all. The ear tips are made of foam. You get 3 different sizes. You be the judge if you like foam or rubber. I am not to fond of the foam.
Sound Quality:
Sound is pretty good. These are not noise isolation or canceling but do very well in keeping outside noises from coming in. That factor helps the music sound good. I couldn't hear anything in the gym once these were on. Even with the music off. The drivers don't perform bad at all. However, bass is lacking, But keep in mind these are tiny earbuds so you shouldn't expect too much. Sound worth $250? No. But you're paying for the technology rather than the quality i suppose.
Connectivity:
I didn't have much issues getting it paired. However, it is a little more taskful since these don't have buttons. You just open the capsules and then open your bluetooth and pair. After initial pair, they should pair automatically thereafter. However, this was not always the case for me. Sometimes I had to go into my bluetooth settings and click on connect. Not a big deal. But something I didn't have to do with other Bluetooth's before. I did experience drop signal out of the right ear like other people have experienced. Reason why is that the left ear is the piece that actually connects to the phone. The right ear connects to the left. It wasn't the biggest deal. But honestly, it sucks to have that issue at all. Ive never experienced that before with any other bluetooth. But then again, I don't know if this is what we should expect from fully wireless systems. I guess we shall see how big of a problem this is when other systems come out.
Overall: As you can tell. I really wanted to like these. I really was excited that a set of fully wireless earphones finally hit the market. I have used these for about 2 weeks now and actually find it inconvenient. I've discovered for my own use I actually now prefer that wire between earbuds. I can set it around my neck. Take one ear out to have a conversation. Not be afraid to lose one earpiece. With these, its a little scary. When you're not using it you have to carry around the capsule. When you wanna have a conversation, you have to pull it out and keep it in your hand or put it in your pocket or desk. All these things are not any fault of the product itself. But things I didn't account for when buying. However, a product like this is supposed to make things easier and more convenient. But between the inconsistent connectivity, the lack of calling feature, the right ear piece going out, and the short 2 hour battery life. I would say be weary. It is not a bad product by any means. It is actually a great product if you can look past these minor issues. If this was your first bluetooth, you might actually love this product. I would recommend it for a friend if they asked. However, I am slightly picky and coming from other bluetooth's, these issues did not make me feel like the Earin worked best for me. I am going back to my Jaybirds X2. Still the best bluetooth earphones I've ever owned.

I bought these headphones as a perfect alternative for my usual Bose headphones or Apple stock headphones that come with iPhones. I had to let them charge up first as they were having issues connecting initially but once I did, they worked great. Just so everyone knows these are not for taking phone calls. If your phone rings, the headphones will disconnect and won't stream audio until the call is over.

I have been wanting true wireless earbuds for years and have been waiting for someone to finally release an actual product, not just specs and promo videos.
I was happy to find out Best Buy was carrying Earin but after reading many reviews about drop outs, pairing, volume levels, and overall audio performance I felt I needed to wait for the next generation.
I would check back every once and awhile and read more reviews, thinking to myself, how long will it be before a next generation. For every 3 or 4 bad reviews I would read a very positive review, so finally I decided to take the leap. I figured the worst thing would be was I would need to make a trip to return them.
Well, I'm very glad I made the purchase! While there is occasional dropouts (not often) and I figured out the Earin app for Android allowed me to increase the gain and overall volume, I am very pleased with my purchase. I think for there small size they produce a very full sound.
Are they perfect? .. No, but for true wireless earbuds in a market with no other options even available, they are definitely worth it as an early adopter. If they were $149 instead of $249 then they'd be 5 stars. I'm hoping the next generation adds a mic for making and receiving calls.
