Bought, returned... Tech not there yet.

I stumbled upon these at the Best Buy in union square (NYC). Was very excited....didn't last long though. Between constant drop outs to the right ear bud and outright unpairing from the phone, these things just felt like they weren't ready and a bit rushed. Also a pain that there is no button on them or just simply a smarter solution to the pairing issue. Problem was, when they would unpair from the phone (even with a full charge) there was no way to reset the buds. I would have to place them in the charger and take them out again just to wake them up and start the pairing process all over again. I rode home to Brooklyn on my bike and I had stopped literally 4x to repair the buds to my phone. Total pain in the butt. Loved the idea if it all worked out but just wasn't fully fleshed out. If you are interested I returned them to the Atlantic center Best Buy.

    Love them!

Listen, I am not a picky sound person like some. I bought these of bestbuy.com and am incredibly happy with them. Yes the sound does drop when I am far away from my phone, but that is to be expected with any bluetooth device. The sound quality is brilliant. You must insert the buds into your ears properly in order to get the best quality sound. Much better than any apple earphones. My main purpose of buying these was for weight training. I hate having my phone on me, getting tangled in the wires. These do very well for that. I also found myself using them while cleaning and running errands, letting me be free from my device with ease to move around. The packaging is great, the batteries last long enough for me. There are not many instances where I need to be listening to music more than three hours in a row! I also now use these for voice calls, making sure I have my mobile device close enough for the microphone to pick up my voice. Overall I give these guys a 5/5 - first to hit the market, fit my ears well (female - I used the small foam ear tips), and can run and jump with them just fine, even without the stabilizer.

    Unbelievable technology

Based on reports from KS backers, the mixed reviews tell the story. Results may vary, but they seem to be enjoyed by the large majority and for those that are unfortunate enough to get a dud product, the customer support from Earin is pretty good. That being said, my experience has been amazing. I generally have pretty low standards, but at the same time, I'm not easily impressed. I rate most things as good, reserving both "great" and "terrible" for truly extreme products. Earin can easily be described as great. The build of the product (and its packaging!) is wonderfully elegant and the user experience matches that in every way. The fit is great, the sound is superb, and just the sheer cool factor is off the charts. I might write an in-depth review later, but for now, I'll simply say I cannot recommend these enough! In the interest of full disclosure, they're not as intuitive as they could be as far as setup goes, so overall I would rate these 9/10.

    Not worth the price tag

After reading the reviews, i really wanted to try myself to see if im going to like it. As soon as my best buy received their shipment i was able to grab one. The good: very nice packaging, concept is good and surprisingly the sound is really good. Now to the bad, the drop outs to the right that has been reported by everyone here. Sure it can only be less than a sec, but sometimes its constant. To some people it might not bother them, but i can see why other people would return it. I really try to like it and try to justify the $320 price tag after taxes from best buy, but if youre going to pay that much money, you expect to get a premium product. Honestly, this one is not there yet. Would i recommend it? yes i would if the drop outs will not bother them. I would wait for the next gen or other products coming out.

Great Concept, But Not Worth $300

Before I bought these earbuds, I was well aware of the mixed reviews on this product. It's a great concept and was hoping they would turn out great, but for the price, they were disappointing. The sound is great; with the aid of the app that coincides with this product, I was able to raise the volume limit and it worked perfectly. However, in all but 1 of the 5 songs I played back-to-back, the right earbud would cut in and out every minute or so in each song. But on one song, it was cutting in and out uncontrollably to the point where I decided right then that these were going back to the store. That's honestly the only flaw this product has. Everything else about them from how well they fit in my ears to sound quality is almost top notch. They come with different sized buds to fit your ears to your liking. For $300 though, the sound shouldn't be cutting in and out whatsoever. It seems as though this company disregarded this major issue(at least for me whenever I buy a product of this price) and went ahead and put it on the market. I HIGHLY recommend looking for another alternative to these. I know the "no wires" concept is enticing, but unless you want $300 earbuds that cuts in and out periodically, I'd look for other similar products.

    True Wireless Earbuds Great Product

I had been wanting these earbuds for a long time, glad Best Buy started selling them. They are finnicky with pairing with my iPhone 6 but I'm starting to understand how to pair them effectively and use the app. The sound is great better than most earbuds I have tried, but by far the best feature is their small wireless nature. I recommend getting them if you are drawn to true wireless Bluetooth earbuds that are almost ahead of their time! Also you can use them one at a time for mono or both for stereo

Don't understand why some are knocking this

I missed out on the Kickstarter offer because it became oversubscribed so quickly. For a year, I have been checking the internet for news on these and luckily chanced on an article about Best Buy having them in stock last Friday. I immediately placed an order and picked up at the store the same day. I then read the reviews and to be honest, some of them made me question my decision but I decided to give them a try anyway. They are fantastic. I have not had any of the problems described and I have to wonder if the reviewers really set them up properly and if they gave them a chance. I have used them for over 12 hours, usually 2 hours at a time when I go for my daily walks. THEY WORK GREAT!. The volume is adequate even when there is traffic noise or wind noise. Of course the fidelity isn't as good as my Bose noise cancelling or my Shure SE215's but when exercising, you don't need the highest quality nor when you are outside with ambient noise. The highest quality buds would suffer in this environment also. They are more than sufficient. My only request to the manufacturer is that if there is a software enhancement that would give more base,it would be nice. Hopefully in the second generation, they might make this improvement but for a first generation product these are fantastic. The ability to not have the wire connection to my iPhone is worth it. I am writing this because I feel the negative reviews are unfair and hope to counteract them.

    Awful and Overpriced

I'm not sure about some of these 5 star reviews. These headphones are decent at best when they actually work, which is almost never. Mono mode doesnt work, pairing them to a device takes a few times, and the left earbud almost always drops signal after 5 minutes. When you do finally get both to work, the right earbud cuts in and out frequently which is extremely irritatating. Their mobile app doesnt work either. Save your money and either wait for a second gen version or the Onkyo earbuds that should be coming out soon. $300 for these non functioning earbuds is outright crazy.

I recently picked up a pair thinking I could use them while exercising but apparently, per their customer service agent, they are only calibrated for the iPhone and NOT an iPod. They worked very well with my iPhone 6s but once I connected them to my iPod Nano(newest model), the volume is way too low, even when the volume slider on the Nano is set to max. I contacted them about this and they said that they have done very little testing with iPods, just the iPhone...ok, these are earbuds...for music, right??? Seriously???? Mine will be going back very soon unless they have a work-around. Fingers crossed.

    Plain and Simple...These Don't Work.

I'd been watching Earin with great interest for over a year, since seeing their Kickstarter campaign. The product - a Bluetooth earbud without any wires - is exactly what I'd been waiting years for! When I saw they were finally available at Best Buy, I couldn't wait to try them out - even at $250 (I'm willing to pay a premium for bleeding edge tech). Then I read the reviews and my enthusiasm was dashed somewhat. Still, I was so excited to try them (and knowing I could always return them with Best Buy's great return policy), I decided to give them a shot. Maybe all the people having issues were wrong? So, I got them, followed the instructions to the letter (cool packaging, by the way, Earin) and tried them out. Glorious music filled my ears and they were super-comfortable in my ears! Yes, the reviews WERE wrong! Then the right earbud disconnected. Then both. Then they wouldn't reconnect without taking them out and putting them back in their case. Kind of a kludgy solution, but OK. I tried re-pairing them with my iPhone. Then with my iPad. They just wouldn't stay paired. Then they stopped working altogether, but the battery had a full charge. It seemed the reviews HAD nailed it. In summary, the Earin earbuds are a GREAT idea that - sadly - just doesn't seem quite ready for prime time. I only hope the company survives their generation 1.0 release and can put out a stellar 2.0. If they do, I'll happy buy them. Until then, if you get these to work, more power to you. I couldn't.

Waited 1 year for this product , looks nice , but sounds like garbage , the idea is good, but these earin are useless. 1. the right side of the buds keeps dropping the music, in one song it will stop and restart working 15 times . 2. right ear bud will just stop working and not reconnect after 15 mints . 3. after about 45 mints booth ear buds will stop working you have to put the back in the charger and take out to pair them to blue tooth again . 4. the earin app takes for ever to open , you have to dump the app and relaunch it , to connect to head phones . 5. It will not connect to blue tooth to your phone easy . 6.battery life sucks . I do like every thing about these , except the connection issues, if the fix the problem these will be great unit . but not worth 270.00 with tax . I returned the unit I bought .

These are the earphones I've spent many hundreds of dollars over the years in search of. Pros: - EXCELLENT full-range sound quality - VERY comfortable - unobtrusive - love being unencumbered by ANY cords - decent battery life considering size - small and very convenient docking case and charger Cons: - occasional brief cutout of right channel. I can live with it considering all of the significant pros.

Advanced tech: Clear audio and beautiful design

Earin is a beautifully designed product. These buds are tiny and produce clear audio. I would recommend these if you are looking to escape having to stuff earpods in your pockets. The construction is very meticulous, the sound is very clear, and they function with little to no connectivity issues. I have paired them with the iphone 6s+, which maybe broadcasts better bluetooth because they rarely ever disconnect and if they do, its been for less than half a second while my phone was in another room. I haven't experienced any issues while my phone is in my back pocket while walking around indoors or out. I enjoy streaming with spotify and podcasts. These little buds are impressive! I especially love how discrete they are in public. The buds take about 70 minutes to charge, while the case takes about 2.5-3 hours and requires a connection to a computer usb port. Wall warts put out too much current to properly charge the case. Earin–thank you for giving us a little piece of the future!

    Bad Product, Terrible Support

I have a brand new Nexus 6P that works perfectly with every Bluetooth device I've connected it to. With the Earins I get right ear dropouts more than once a minute. I get them with Google Play Music, PowerAmp, Audible, PocketCasts and BeyondPod. I get them whether WiFi is on or off, I get them whether streaming or listening to stored audio files. I get them when I'm out walking on the street, on the train, or sitting quietly at my desk. I've sent several emails to Earin support. The first one, sent on December 9, earned a response from Earin the following day with 6 questions which I answered immediately. After waiting 6 days with no response from Earin I resent my original support request with another plea for an answer to my issue. I received an answer the following day, December 17, asking me if I could try the buds out on a different phone, like an iPhone. I responded on December 18 that my Nexus 6P worked fine with every other Bluetooth device I've connected to it and I'm not likely to buy an iPhone just for these earbuds. I told them that the connection between my phone and the left earbud worked fine, but the connection between the left and right earbuds didn't. I asked to return them. After no response for 4 days I sent another email with a request for an RMA. Guess what... no response as yet and today is December 28.

So, I was hesitant to purchase these headphones because of the mixed reviews. Now, after having used them to run outside and work inside at the gym, I believe the problem lies with user error. First, ensure the things are completely charged. You'll need to give them at least an hour. While you're waiting, download the free app to your iPhone. Once the things are fully charged, remove the LEFT earpiece from the charger first. The LEFT is the master. Pair that with your phone. Then remove the RIGHT slave to get that to pair to your iPhone. Use the free app to ensure both pieces are fully charged and connected to the phone. Lastly, turn on iTunes, press play, then go workout! While running outside, I did notice the RIGHT slave cut out for a nano second due to my head movement. It happened 3-4 times and was not a deal breaker to me. For indoors on the elliptical, I had 1 cut out from the right, but when I worked on weights, I had no problems. Hopefully, the next version will improve on the connection between slave and master. When not in use, always keep them in the charging case, otherwise, they will always be on. Make sure they are seated completely in place and the red light comes on or they'll never charge. I want these tiny things to last forever because they cost more than a small TV and I'll be mad if they die in 6 months like my old $150 Nike bluetooth earbuds. I love that I don't have annoying wires and can zone out because I cannot hear anything or anyone around me. These Earins are also awesome headphones/ear-plugs when worn in an airplane with annoying co-passengers who talk too much!

There are great ear buds. Now that being said not perfect, app is bad. use way to much power. The bluetooth is good not perfect. You can use one at a time just have to pair separately. So that nice. But, you are looking at a 300 $ pair of ear buds if you want them get them in store so if you hate them return them. I love mine and use the as much at possible. The battery life will vary, i use mine with bass boost on at all time so you miles may very, but at least 2 hour. And 3 full chargesfor the contain. But,aging 300$ your not buying those for anyother reason then want. So enjoy hope it helps.

I actually received these via their Kickstarter campaign. Awesome sound quality, and terrific build however the right unit will not stay paired and constantly drops out, so they only reliably work on the left (master) side only. Great quality if you only want to listen with your left ear, a little expensive though.

Just got my Kickstarter Earins and I'm in love. They are so small (look Ma, NO wires... anywhere) and yet they sound incredibly clean. These are earbuds for those who enjoy clean midrange and bright highs. They aren't for those looking to rattle their skull with booming bass. I swear they sound better than my Bowers & Wilkins C5s did (before the cable shorted out - out of warranty). Living life large in the future right now.

    Christmas Gift Gone Bad

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I received these as a christmas gift. I had never heard of Earin so was excited to have something so new. Well, I've been trying to us them for almost 5 weeks and have had constant troubles. It's to the point now where I don't even try to get both earbuds to work. It's a good day when one works. I've read that the left earbud transmits the single to the right earbud. The problem is that my skull is in the way so when they are both in I often have the right one drop out for a second. It's super annoying as the earbud foam ends do an excellent job blocking other ambient sounds so the short disconnects are like a loud glitch in my ear. Best Buy told me that there's nothing they can do since it's past the 15 days. They were past the 15 days before I even opened them for Christmas so I guess I'm out of luck. I see some positive reviews so I guess I'll try returning these to Earin

This is a first generation product, and it exceeded my expectations greatly. The sounds is excellent, the battery life is longer than I was led to believe from some other comments, and they fit very well in my ear. I've waited years for this type of product to hit the market. Happy to own them.
