Beautiful, majestic, funny, suspenseful, dramatic. Make sure you play this thing with surround sound. The sound of ice and waves crashing all around you is just awesome! Great disc to demo your stuff, even if your stuff isn't top of the line! Robert Redford does a decent job as narrator. Changes things up from your standard Sir Attenborough narration you usually get on these things. Good pacing. Perfect for when you don't want to sit through hours of footage from the actual BBC Planet Earth series. Family-friendly, too. There are some animal fights, but no blood and guts.

I bought this documentary for reasons other than what most probably do. I wanted a nature doc that was produced in a clean 4K format and with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. This was to demonstrate my new tv and sound system. I received it in the mail, Best Buy shipping has been very good for me. I put it in a dedicated blu ray player so that it would be the most accurate playback. All of the menus were clear and basic. This movie is an amazing demonstration of my setup. The audio is crisp and balanced, the Atmos effects are top notch and really pull you into the narrative. The picture is breathtaking. It’s nature in so much color and beauty. And the narrative is interesting and fun. This movie proved to be a great purchase.

This is another outstanding production in the BBC "Earth" series of nature documentaries, taking the viewer on a round-the-world expedition into the lives and habits of a variety of different animal species, beginning at dawn and ending at night--thus the "One Amazing Day" subtitle. The cinematography is everything we've come to expect from the producers of this series. One caveat: Robert Redford does the narrating in this film, not Sir David Attenborough, who's the voice most closely associated with this brand. Redford is fine and folksy, but he's not Attenborough. That said, this is still worth adding to your collection.

Goes great with LG 4K TV and Panasonic 4K DVD player. Never seen a better picture on a TV.
