Ecobee is easy to install and easy operate and better control room temperature.

This is the first and only smart thermostat I have owned but I researched for awhile before deciding on Ecobee. Ecobee just stood out to me in terms of ability to customize and reporting. You are able to schedule like any other thermostat but with Ecobee you get the benefit of the sensors which you can apply to any area and even set indidual comfort levels based on those sensors within a schedule. I really like the reports. It will take a month to generate your savings reports but you can view real time reports about what equipment is running, when, and for how long. The iOS app is excellent. Simple to use. Integrates seamlessly with Apple HomeKit as well. Which is another reason I decided on Ecobee long ago because they were one of the few to adopt that at the time of my research. Installation wasn't that easy for me but this was my first. I don't have a C wire so I used the included adapter. While it does complicate the install it really is better because a smart thermostat needs constant power rather than depending on batteries. There are no batteries with Ecobee. Install support was very helpful but it is not easy to discuss wiring over the phone and email images. BUT they did get me there though and a call to an HVAC friend confirmed it was right. After that setup is easy. If you're on the fence about a smart thermostat, get an Ecobee.

We used this in a second home in the mountains & it makes getting there late on Friday nights so much more bearable. Can't wait to get more for our main house.

Great thermostat that is easy to install and functions are easy to understand

I finally took the plunge and bought a smart thermostat. I was not disappointed, and you definitely won't be either.

Took me 5 mins to install and works great. Keeps house at perfect temperature

The thermostat itself works great. My only issue is that the remote sensor gets disconnected once every few days, which results in 2 notifications on the device and 2 emails telling me it disconnected, then reconnected.

We absolutely love it! Depending on what the weather changes to while I am at work or just upstairs I can change the heat/AC to make sure my house and dogs stay comfortable and help save money on my energy bill. My thermostat did not have the "C" wire, I believe, and required a battery in order to work. I could not find any new "smart" thermostats that had that capability. BUT, this one did come with an extension kit. I had to get in the attic to attach to HVAC system but I was able to complete the rewire in under 5 min and the most expierence I have with electrical work is plugging something in.

I love our ecobee. Call me lazy but I love how you can turn up or down the thermostat from my smart phone. The touch screen is very modern and easy to use. It even displays the weather outside for the day. Durning the night it is programmed to turn down the temperature to save on our energy bill, right now you can even get a credit back for this purchase through semco.

The web-based and mobile-based interface to this thermostat provides a wonderfully easy way to program it to meet our daily needs. Apple HomeKit connectivity adds to the usability and the remote sensors also let the thermostat know when we deviate from our expected plans. Very well thought out and a high-quality unit. I even bought one for my kids to use in their home.

It works great. Easy to program. Love the fact you can connect it to other sensors around the house. You can even program it to ignore the other sensors at certain times. Love being able to change the settings via my phone from anywhere. You just tell it the minimum and maximum temp you want, and it will take it from there.

I really believe this is the best thermostat on the market, for a number of reasons. 1) This is the biggie: External sensors! You can place multiple external sensors around the house so that the Ecobee3 (E3) knows that the temperature is in different parts of the house. Now, the E3 doesn't do zoning, meaning it can't selectively heat/cool different parts of the house, but it can *average* the temperature across multiple sensors to try to "even out" comfort across your home, instead of only "caring" about the temperature where the thermostat is. Now, these little external sensors ALSO have another feature: occupancy detection! Which brings me to the next feature: 2) "Follow Me": So, since the E3 knows both the temperature in other parts of the house AND if someone is present, it can dynamically "care" about the temperature only in rooms that have recently seen occupancy! So, if you enter a room and start moving around, the E3 begins to "care" about the temp on that sensor and includes that sensor in the "average" temp of the house. And if a sensor hasn't seen movement in a while, it will stop caring about that sensor's temp. This is the "Follow Me" feature. (PS - This feature is disabled for the "Sleep" comfort profile because no one will be moving around the house while they're sleeping)

This item provides a lot of information when you pass by. It is great. It does a good job of regulating the indoor climate while reducing use of the HVAC

I have been using the Ecobee3 for about a month and it is so easy to use and gives me the ability to have my house in the right temperature when I get home!

I would highly recommend the Ecobee 3 to anyone considering their first "smart" thermostat. The installation instructions are straight-forward, although it helps to be comfortable with basic thermostat wiring on both the wall and furnace side. The integration with Apple HomeKit and Amazon Alexa make it easy to adjust the thermostat regardless if I'm near the Ecobee or if I don't have my phone or other Apple compatible device with me. The only knock is the touch interface on the Ecobee itself which isn't as responsive as a smartphone screen and takes some patience adjusting.

Like the ecobee a lot. Works great and easy to install. The intigration with the Apple phone is not that great but otherwise a nice devise and worth the money.

Good investment. Lowered my bill by about $20-30 a month and can't beat the convenience of the smart tech too. Definitely don't regret this purchase!

I have only have this installed for about a month now, but it seems to work like it should. I need to really let it work for a year and then see a difference (I hope). I live in Arizona where summers are brutal, and the only time of the year the furnace/AC is used. That's why a full year of use is needed. The sensors seem to keep the house temp balanced really well.
