The ecobee3 Programmable Touch-Screen Wi-Fi Thermostat really does a great job at maintaining an ideal temperature. Plus you can control the thermostat remotely, which makes it PERFECT!!!!

This is a much better value than the Nest series and it works with Apple HomeKit and Alexa. It also has great range and the appearance is really nice. It took me only about an hour to set up and it has never had any connectivity issues except with the router was actually unplugged. I feel confident that it will be a quality product that will last a long time. One last note, I did have to call their tech support for a question, and they answered very quickly, walked me thru the issue on the phone, did not ask me to provide any proof or purchase or hold up the process in any way. They even sent me a link with a video and instructions by email. Great customer service!

The thermostat set up quickly and worked right away. Great to be able to turn off the air while we are away and start it back up a few minutes before we get home, not when we walk into a hot house.

I have owned the newest Nest as well and this thing is far superior. The Nest feels like an outdated gimmick in comparison, especially if you are using an iPhone. The ecobee3 integrates with Siri so perfectly, yet the Nest and Google Now barely communicate properly. The only thing that I wish it could do was work directly over your own wifi without needing a cloud server as the middle-man, but neither device comes with that functionality (although a Nest can if you voice the warranty and install custom firmware). The ecobee touchscreen is way more convenient and user friendly than the control knob on the Nest which feels nice to the touch but is sluggish to operate.

I shopped for a thermostat for months. Was going to go with the Nest, but after the abysmal experience with their security camera, I decide to go with the EcoBee. The setup was super easy through my Pixel. I like the copy feature for the schedules and the fact that I can add additional sensors is awesome. I have sensors in my bedroom and living room and I can actively monitor them through the app on my phone. You can setup reminders to change your filter and other thermostat related notifications. I love that I can change the temp from my bed, through the app, if I decide I don't want to get out of bed when the schedule changes. Long story short, awesome thermostat.

The ecobee 3 has been great. I love the detailed ability to manage temperature, see how much energy I'm using, and balance heat around the house. Definitely invest in the extra room monitors.

I bought ecobee3 over the Nest for couple of reasons. a) I can build my own schedule (as we are in/out of home a lot; I'd rather build a schedule) 2) instant weather right on the screen

My house has one thermostat in a hallway. The ecobee 3 provides sensors to monitor temps in other parts of the house and averages the temperatures to provide a much more efficient result

This ecobee is so easy to hook up and get running. The on screen setup was a breeze. Love that we can set up scenes and have our home at our desired temperature when we get home. Good product

Easy install, love the extra sensors, can't wait for the remote vent openers to link with device. I called company they are working with a 3rd party to add to benefit of the remote sensors.

I switched to a Nest only because it's app follows my phone and changes the temperature for me when I'm not there automatically, instead of having to schedule everything. I like the idea of the remote sensors to help with the temperature control in other rooms, but needed that extra functionality. Still a great product for some.

It decrease the electricity bill and it is smart enough to detect the home occupation and i like more the ventilation control

It was easy to connect to both my HVAC system and network. The install instructions that come with the app are easy to follow. The unit came with everything needed to do a quality install.

Bought this product and am very impressed with the functionality if this. Give reports on the previous months energy consumption and highly configurable. Good app goes with it

This was an absolutely fantastic purchase. After doing extensive research between the Ecobee and the Nest I finally went with the Ecobee, and have not regretted my decision since. 5/7

This is a highly recommended thermostat. It was easy to install and program. We have purchased additional sensors and the unit is very aware of where you are in the house. We love it.

I bought two of these for my home and enjoy the ease of set-up and use. The app can be a bit slow to update, but I don't feel like I need to adjust temps at the drop of a hat.

Ok, so to start off with this is a great product, however it does take a some tweaking to get things right, and a good understanding of how it works. There in lies the problem. The documentation is rather light, and you will probably spend a lot of time trying to understand the miriad of settings. Mine is attached to a heat pump with stage 1 aux heat, and the first issue was with the wiring. I did the on-line screening to make sure that it was compatible and it was. At install time however I ended up having to call tech support (which was very good) and they had to walk me through a couple of things to get the install completed. After all the setting were made and things were stabilized it has been a dream, The dual sensors (you can add more) make for a much better experience with even heating (I haven't used it with the AC yet, but expect it to be just as good). Just go in to this purchase realizing that you will have to possibly do a little research, and maybe talk to tech-support and you will be good to go. I will purchase another unit for the upstairs soon.
