Unit was very easy to install. I ran into no issues. I have had the unit for about 4 months now and haven't had an issue yet. I really like the ability to control it from your smartphone. Very easy to use.

I did a lot of research to figure out the top contenders and then did a lot of reading of practical reviews. EcoBee3 came out on top for me and I am VERY happy we chose it. I have yet to own it for more than a quarter of a year worth of data so I can see how much we are saving yet. I will warn you, you do have to participate in using it to its best abilities. We love being able to control the house temperature just before we get hOMe or if we forgot to adjust for being away. We are very pleased with our choice and hope you will be too... namaste

I chose this thermostat over the Nest due to the remote temperature sensors. I live in a split level and wanted to be able to control the temperature depending on where I am spending my time (aka down stairs during the day and upstairs at night). For this purpose, the Ecobee has been amazing. It works exactly as advertised. The only downside is that it doesn't learn your preferences like the Nest does. You have to schedule when the temperature changes and to what degree. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will be buying more remote sensors in the near future.

Due to the previous homeowner's wonky wiring, I have a Nest (2nd gen.) connected to my heating equipment, and I recently bought the ecobee3 to run my central AC. If you're comparing between the two, the Nest is simpler and easier to use, but the ecobee3 packs more features. ecobee3 pros (compared to Nest) - multi-room temperature sensing for more accurate whole-house climate control - bigger display makes it more useful to change settings on unit and get weather - more settings for day, night, auto-away, and vacation modes - app provides more info about system usage and weather impacts Cons (compared to Nest) - less attractive on wall - always on screen can be distracting - Requires more programming More difficult installation

I have tried every smart thermostat on the market and this by far blows them all out of the water. Not only does it do everything but it is truly the first smart thermostat that tracks where activity is and adjusts temperature levels based on where you are through out the house. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that occasionally the remote sensor looses connection on the second floor of my house, but it always re finds it with out me having to do anything.

The Ecobee3 is the most logical and user friendly thermostat on the market. The installation was a breeze. Connecting the thermostat to Wink and HomeKit was very simple. The most impressive component to this thermostat is the remote sensors in the rooms we actually use. Now my daughter's room is at a consistent temp.

I did some extensive reading between the ecobee and the Nest thermostat. I was torn between the two, until I found out that the ecobee was Apple HomeKit capable. It is easy to install and easy to use. Has easy to use vacation mode, even if you leave just for one day. Setting up a weekly schedule was just as easy and straight forward. Uses Wifi to keep up to date with the weather outside. It goes into a sleep mode when not looking at it, and "wakes up" when you look at it. Great product!

First, I really like it. Works great with my Amazon Echo. Example: "Alexa, turn my 'house' down to 70 degrees". Allegedly works well with Apple Siri but not so much. Apple's "HomeKit" requires that you disable the auto ac/heat switching. You have to choose one or the other. I live in a near desert like area. Mornings can be really cold and afternoons can get really warm. I have two very temp-sensitive Bulldogs. I need the auto function so I can adjust while via my iPhone when im away. So, I've disabled Siri. And now use my Echo or iPhone app only. Great product. Just not very Siri friendly for my climate.

I love my ecobee3, I bought this over the best due to it having sensors that connect wirelessly and having an upstairs makes sense for me. It looks really cool on my wall and the app works very well too. It's also saved me a good amount of money on my electric bill. Overall I couldn't be happier with the ecobee3.

Read about this and you'll find out exactly what this is. It's spot on. It's easy to install...even if you have a 4 wire system to your HVAC unit. I've had it barely a month and it's just as advertised. However, I don't use the auto function where it sets the temp based upon room occupancy. I understand the feature, but I don't see the advantage. It doesn't have geo fencing setting, so if that's what you're looking for, it's not for you.

We didn't have the "C" wire when we tried to set up a different one. Looked everywhere in stores and online trying to find a smart thermostat that ran off batteries. I took a chance with this one off a review I read and it def paid off. It doesn't run off batteries but it took me a total of 10 min to climb up into my attic and hook a little wire adapter thing up to my main unit and climb back down. The instructions that you get from the app are extremely easy. I love being able to adjust the temp in my house while I'm away and it solved the issue of my downstairs being super cold and the master bedroom being an oven in the summer. You put a little motion sensor in a dif room, we did master, and it measures the temp upstairs as well as down to even out the house more. I can also set it where when I get home or it senses motion in a room at a certain time frame it will automatically adjust the temp to how I would like it to go to bed.

I have worked in the HVAC industry for more than 30 years. The best thermostat on the market. The remote sensors allow me to monitor the temperature in the room that I am in at the time instead of the temperature of the hallway. Also allows me to set the sensors upstairs to control the thermostats when I am upstairs. The data available allows me to monitor temp, humidity, staging of equipment, outside conditions, schedule operation. I highly recommend this thermostat.

It make my life easy to control the temperature in my rooms and control the heat from my phone.

This thermostat was easy to install and they have great phone tech support to assist you through the installation process. Once in place it is very user friendly and easy to read and operate. And it comes with one remote sensor too. It also can be remotely operated via your iPhone.

This is a very good smart thermostat and I love that it links with smartthings and especially that it takes into account multiple rooms which just makes sense to me. I wish they would enhance it, though, to allow the motion sensing capabilities of the remote room sensors to report their motion status to smartthings so they can double as security features. By the way, it is worth noting that the HVAC guy that installed it with me said he has had to uninstall several nest thermostats because they didn't work! He said he would never get a nest.

So glad i went with the ecobee!! A little bit of a challenge to hook up but their customer support was awesome. While on the phone with them they had me email pics of my setup and they walked me through it. I had to run an additional wire but once they told me how, it was a piece of cake. My schedule is erratic and i wanted control of my thermostat while I'm out. Now every time i come home my home is comfortable

We have a "conventional" home thermostat that works ok, but having 2 floors in our house, it only reads the main floor that its on. The Ecobee is easy to use and installing it was a cinch. Wires were all color coded to make it an easy install. The app you download for it is friendly and easy to use as well. With this now installed for about 4 months, it's kept my upstairs (there's a temp reader that comes with it) at the right temperature set. The old one only read the downstairs temp so on hot days, it's super cold downstairs with the AC going and on cold days, super hot upstairs. With the Ecobee, it allowed us to have a "dual" temp gauge and we can program it to be at whatever temp during the day for downstairs and upstairs.

I had some problems getting it to work on my furnace, but once I got it settled in, it works great. If you have older equipment or wiring, it may take some work to get it to work.
