Cool, Connected Tech
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from an older programmable Honeywell T-Stat that worked but has started acting up a bit so I took the opportunity to upgrade when replacing it. I am only about 30 days in so far but have been very impressed - the app and web interfaces are very cool and usability is awesome. I have already noticed a drop in energy consumption and have no doubt this will pay for itself in short order!

Smart home n Smart money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was running a programmable thermostat on a two floor townhome. Typically the first floor is always cold and the 2nd floor is hot like Summer. Not matter how much you run the fans you can escape the issue. Regulating the heat become a nightmare and managing it remotely is out of question. I checked both Nest and Ecobee. Finally chose Ecobee for its additional sensors. Perfect for my issue stated above. I don't have to run the fan always (which did increase my electricity bill earlier). This one regulates fan when needed to circulate the heat based on all the sensors average temp and run heat when needed. The house over all is warmer (won't say absolutely solved the first floor issue of being cold but, the temp is far better manageable than earlier). Best out come is 2nd being livable. No more very warm nights. Additionally, I can manage it remote and give me various alerts that I can configure. Plus ComEd provides a $125 rebate as well for using Smart phone. Over all this will pay for itself. I already see my electricity / Gas bill reduce by nearly 12% average.

Excellent Device For Real Readings of Temperature
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with my decision to purchase this device over the nest. Installation was not very easy (Mainly because I'm not too familiar with HVAC systems and I had to use the converter it brought which brought an extra level of difficulty) but following the instructions I was able to get it right on the first try. It was great plugging in the ecobee and seeing it light up. Another thing I really like is that not only can you add many sensors to the system but you can also turn off sensors depending on whether or not you want to disregard the area. In my case, the main thermostat location is in a hallway that is not being cooled by the AC. So I was able to get the sensors I needed in the rooms that were being cooled by the AC (kitchen, living room, family room) and was able to turn off the sensor in the main thermostat so that it doesn't take its temperature into account. This worked beautifully. Setting up the account and the sensors was a breeze, and now I am able to control my thermostat from anywhere that has an internet connection. Definitely recommended.

My First Smart Thermostat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for smart thermostat for over a year but told my friend about ecobee3 over year ago and he bought it. When I decided to buy smart thermostat I asked how he was liking his? He had no issue and likes it. i bought combo deal offer getting ecobee3 1 sensor and 2nd gen Amazon Alexa dot for 250.00. I received a better deal than that by going into the store. Very easy to install the system maybe 30minutes at the most. I bought 2 extra sensors to get good idea what rooms are hotter or cooler depending on time of the year. I have only had system for about 2 weeks so only time will tell how the system holds up. The scheduler you can modify to your liking. I like being able to control temp remotely if needed but scheduler works pretty so what I have seen. I have ecobee3 setup with my Samsung Smartthings so I can see temps in each room.

works well for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this myself. Easy to set up and works great. I'm sure there are some out there that are higher tech, but this one was perfect for our little house. Works with Alexa and my cell phone. It does everything the ads said it would.

Cool product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Attractive design and includes one remote sensor unit. Easy to install and simple to use. Very agreeable wifi interface and app. Have two units and they need to be tweaked for accuracy (i.e. temp readings to be accurate per external thermometer). Documentation not particularly helpful for this and help desk support was extremely disappointing. Overall very satisfied with purchase.

Great look and functionality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not much for writing reviews, but I have to say that this thermostat is great. The look alone turns a boring wall into something I enjoy looking at. It's super easy to set up and install, even if you have to install wiring at the furnace. I have had no issue getting voice commands to work with Siri or Alexa. Overall I love this thing and I'm glad I chose it over the Nest.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! Simple to use. Scheduling is handy. I like having the second sensor. It helps keep the temperature in my home even. I have been using this for a while. No major complaints.

Easy to use and awesome support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this myself day before Thanksgiving. I have an older Trane HVAC system with a heat pump and had a lot of extra wires not in use. Support contacted me within 3 days (holiday weekend) and gave me great instructions. Unit works well and the online statistics are great. Only mark off is for the need for an Apple TV to have remote access (can't control your thermostat away from home using your phone)

Excellent thermostat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install and connect to our home wireless network. Easy to modify settings via the smartphone app. We were able to modify the vacation mode remotely so the house was on normal schedule when we returned a day earlier than planned.

Great for smart home and smart savings!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I almost ordered a Nest thermostat until I learned about this device. I was looking for a device that was certified to be energy efficient and would allow me to have more control of the most energy consuming part of my home, my HVAC system. Not only was this device extremely easy to install, it has also provided a very simple way to control the temperature in my entire home. It's ability to accommodate multiple sensors throughout my home allows us to maintain the right temperature in the rooms that matter the most. It also easily integrated with my Smartthings hub and with My Amazon echo making it super easy to adjust the temperature using my smart phone remotely, or via voice control in my home. I am extremely pleased with this product and highly recommend it!

Good - but room for improvement.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall it works well. It was unstable until the latest software update. One sensor still keeps going on and off but its not being used. This product don't use batteries so you might need to use the converter you need to add to the control board of the heating system. For me that took a while it would have been easier if you could use batteries as well. The software don't allow for automatic turning on/off the HVAC. We like to turn off the system in the night if we put it on automatic it will turn on the AC/heat when its not needed e.g. we have the windows open.

Easy to install, works pretty well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first smart thermostat. I wanted to get a smart thermostat because my wife is home all day long and is not real mobile, so I needed a thermostat that I could control from my iPhone. I also needed a thermostat that could go from heating to cooling or vice versa automatically. Setup - the initial setup has to be done at the thermostat, but it is pretty quick/east/painless. I basically used the defaults until I got the code, and then I used my iPhone/iPad to fine tune the settings. Use - I do not use a lot of the features because someone is always in the house. I setup a schedule, but haven't used that feature yet. I did activate the remote sensor that came with the unit and will purchase a couple of more remote sensors. I like the iPhone app that shows me the temperature in the room that it is in. Once I get the other two sensors for the other two rooms, I will turn on the follow me feature and see if that works throughout the day for my wife. If it doesn't work well, then I can turn it off again. I will still leave the sensors up because I can keep track of the temperature in the rooms. My advice if you get this thermostat, is to take it slow on the features, activate only one or two at a time to see how it reacts to your situation. The "Follow Me" feature made it hot in my wife's quilt cave (there was no sensor in the room) before I turned it off. It takes a small amount of time to understand which settings do what. I also suggest that you go through each setting, even if you think you may not use it, just to make sure what is available and what is on/off. I am also sure that you will not be disappointed in this thermostat.

Works well and easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thermostat is very stylish and works well. I bought two of these, one for each zone. Had to install a new control board for the furnace but everything worked first time and was easy to set up. The thermostat even emailed me when my furnace stopped working!

Made our "zoned but unbalanced" home comfortable!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This might be the most effective "smart" thermostat solution on the market. I've owned and worked with several others over the years, including some that were integrated with home / building automation systems, but none that truly addressed as many interior comfort problems as this one while remaining very automatic and easy to use. The layout of our home presents several challenges in keeping it comfortable with stable temperatures. We have two floors, with separate HVAC systems for each, but poor locations for the thermostats and main air return ducts. There is a 2-story entry foyer and staircase, through which the warmer air naturally rises and collects near the 2nd floor thermostat . Likewise, cooler air falls to the first floor near its thermostat location. A 10-degree temperature difference between the top and bottom stairs was a frequent problem. Worse, if the downstairs unit was inadvertently placed in heating mode while the upstairs was in cooling mode, the systems would work against each other and both floors would hit opposite temperature extremes. Very unpleasant to come home or wake up to. The ecobees are expensive and may be hard to justify for some folks. In our case, one of our older programmable thermostats was intermittently malfunctioning and putting the HVAC system at risk, so it had to be replaced. This was a good time to see if a pair of ecobees could finally solve the larger problems with discomfort and inefficiency. We've had them just over a month, and working together they've made a huge improvement. There are several features that combine to make this possible, but the main ones are the remote temperature/presence sensors and the fact that you can group multiple thermostats together to work as a single intelligent system. The remote sensors let you measure room temp where where people in the home spend their time. You can set it up so that certain sensors are used at different times in your schedule or depending on room occupancy. You can have the system take average readings across multiple sensors, and you can disable the senor in the thermostat itself. And by having the two thermostats grouped together, you never have to worry about one being in heating mode while the other is cooling. When you change modes on one thermostat, the other one follows suit. Each thermostat can still have it's own temperature set-points and schedules, or you can have them share a single schedule. You can also set the thermostats to run the fan periodically, keeping air circulated and temperatures more balanced across the home (and in our case, dissipating all the hot air that would gather at the top of the stairs). There are many other intelligent features, like Smart Recovery, Smart Home/Away, and the factoring of outside weather conditions and forecast that I expect will go a long way to keeping indoor temps more stable and comfortable in the most efficient way. Then there is the convenience of being able to change the temperature from the PC in your office, or your smartphone while sitting on the couch. And if you are out of town when extreme weather hits, you can check in on things remotely and change system modes if needed. You can also set a special vacation schedule with departure and return dates/times. All of this functionality is very easy to use through the ecobee portal, and it's been interesting to scroll back through the graphs and see how our units have been operating! I've recently run into a couple of minor bugs, but ecobee support has been responsive and I feel confident they will correct these problems with automatic firmware updates. I am very happy with our investment.

Best Thermostat I've Ever Owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking my for a way to even out our house especially during the winter. Ecobee3 and its sensors has helped us do this! Easy set up (we have a newer home so our HVAC had the C-Wire)! Also, love the home/away feature that senses when you are either home or away and adjusts the temperature accordingly.

Ez install even with only 4 wires
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited to wait a month to review so I had some experiences to share. I was first worried to pull the cover on my furnace but after using their install video, it worked the first time, even after using their power extender unit. I have a two story house which the upstairs is either too cold in winter or to hot in the summer. So two sensors was a must. And getting both sensors working was a snap. My ecobee is guaranteed to save us money since it knows when we are home or not and when it should or should not run. It works, it just works. No tweaking needed. Just set our limits up and off it goes. It's like having your own guardian watching over your energy use.

Works as promised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy installation, it works as promised. Controlling from a smart phone or Internet is handy when you have a change of plans and want to make an adjustment. However, my old programable thermstat could be set for different tempertures at different times of the day. The Ecobee only has 2, home and away. Also, I received notice that the extra room sensor I had was defective. Ecobee sent repair instructions, or I could send it back, but I did the repair. I am still not sure it is working.
