A must if you have only 1 EcoBee Thermostat

These things are great if you have 1 thermostat and hot or cold rooms. Easy to link up to your EcoBee Thermostat. I have one in the master bedroom that has a tendency to get colder than the rest of the house. If were not in the room, the heater won't try and keep that room warm, as soon as we walk in, it will kick on the thermostat on if that room is colder than what the Thermostat is to keep the house temperature at. Anything to help lower energy cost, keeps the heater or ac from running all the time.

    Works great, but buy enough

These little things are stupid easy to setup, then you just have to put them in the rooms you're in most often. To get the most out of these with your Ecobee thermostat, be sure to purchase enough of these sensord. These will detect what room you're in, determine if you're home or away and set the temperature accordingly. Without enough sensors, it will think you're away and adjust the temp. You can always turn these features off, but to get the most out of them, buy enough.

    Great addition to your Ecobee4

An Ecobee4 includes one remote thermostat sensor and has one in the wall unit. Having more remote sensors is great for monitoring two more remote areas. Our home now has remotes in the main floor family room and the 2nd floor office and one of the four bedrooms there. This covers the important areas in the house. The home temperature is comfortable day and night - through out the four seasons. When purchased they were 50% off the normal price of $79. Quite a bargain then,

I would highly recommend purchasing at least one set of these to go with your Ecobee 3. We have had issues with one sensor losing connection with the main one but it seems to be getting better now after Ecobee support gave us some tips.

Great Addition To Your Ecobee 3 or 4

I have the Ecobee 4 and these little sensors are awesome. My main Ecobee thermostat is installed in my great room, and the temperatures in our bedrooms vary greatly from the main floor. I have a sensor in each bedroom, and have the system configured to change the house temperature to make sure our rooms are comfortable while we sleep. These sensors are a must if you install your thermostat in a hallway or any room that varies in temperature from the rest of your house.

Work great but for my house it didn't work out. I have a 1800 sq. foot 2 story and my thermostat and 1 sensor was on the first floor then I put 1 sensor in my bedroom upstairs and a second sensor upstairs farthest from my furnace. Now doing this it kept my whole house pretty much perfect all day and night, only bad part is my furnace and air ran non stop. So I disabled sensors threw out the day and night so my furnace wouldn't run so much and I realized I didn't need the extra 2 sensors. So during the day the ecobee uses the thermostat to keep the house then at night it only uses 1 sensor upstairs to use cool at night. So really look at your house to see if you need more then the 1 sensor it comes with.

Nice, reasonably priced add-ons for my ecobee3

I'm really enjoying my ecobee3 overall. It came with one remote sensor, but I wanted to cover all of my main living spaces in the average house temperature and account for when my mother in law, home alone all day, is around as a factor for when to keep the temp a little warmer. These were super simple to set up and install, and despite being light weight and plain, feel like they are of pretty good quality. My only complaint is that I wish I could use them, not just the ecobee thermostats themselves, as motion monitors from a security standpoint. But, I suspect that is on purpose in order to save battery or else they wouldn't make it near the 4 yrs they claim to last per battery.

These remote sensors are one of the main reasons I purchased an Ecobee Thermostat. Our thermostat is located right behind our tv so the tv makes the thermostat read warmer than what it really is. These sensors eliminate that problem by allowing me to place them throughout the house at different places. They have been working great. They were also easy to link to my ecobee thermostat. I highly recommend this product!

Quick Setup - Great for big HomeKit houses

These take about 1-2 minutes to connect to the ecobee and do a great job of tracking temperature in a big, multi-room house with multiple levels. As an added bonus, I use the occupancy sensors to automate some lights through HomeKit. Sometimes it can take a few seconds for the system to recognize occupancy and only seems to update empty rooms every few minutes - likely to prevent false readings if you were to exit/re-enter a room quickly.

If you have a house that has rooms that are unusually warmer/cooler than other rooms this is what you need! (Plus the acutely ecobee thermostat) dont waste extra electricity by over cooling or warming a room. Pop one of these up on the wall or on a table and adjust your ecobee to read this temp and the balance of temperature begins to start. Also these bonus as Motion and Temperature in Apple’s HomeKit!

Simple Way to Extend Your System

Simple and easy way to extend the reach and control of your ecobee system. Extremely simple to set up, just place the sensor next to the main control unit and pull the plastic near the battery case to power the unit. Your control unit will prompt you with the next actions within 5 seconds. I mount mine on the wall using a command strip in several different rooms of the house to control and/or simply monitor temps.

Must Have for Ecobee Thermostat Owners

If you have a space where different areas of the home get either too warm or cool for whatever reason then these are a must. The thermostat will work with the sensors to do it's best to keep a better average temperature for a more evenly distributed heating/cooling experience. The smart home/away sensing feature also works beautifully (only drawback is being yet unable to adjust the timeout for that setting).

I am using 3 of these sensors with one ecobee unit. They seem to work quite well but once a day, on average, the ecobee loses connection with the sensor and then re-establishes the connection within about an hour. I have the sensor about 15-20 feet from the ecobee and about 20 feet from a wifi hub. When the sensor has a lock then everything works great. I haven't really noticed a lack of performance in the system when one of the sensors drop off; it's more annoying than anything. Hopefully the next version will have a slightly better range.

I was planning on getting the Nest but came across the Ecobee3 and there has been no regrets. These sensors shows the temperature in each of the rooms I have them in. Nest has nothing on Ecobee3
