Customers are pleased with the Uni-Fi 5-1/4" 140-Watt Passive 3-Way Bookshelf Speakers' sound quality, particularly the high and mid-range frequencies, and their impressive bass response for bookshelf speakers. Some users even find the bass powerful enough to potentially eliminate the need for a subwoofer. However, it's noted that these speakers require a powerful amplifier to reach their full potential.

Sounds a lot larger than the speakers actually are. Enormous soundstage. Goes low enough that a subwoofer might not be needed.

Do your homework! You will see 99.9% of reviews are 5 stars and rightly so! These bookshelves have no rival at this price range. Tight base, very balanced, and absolutely stunning. They are power hungry, so no less than 140wpc recommended. Bravo Andrew Jones ! I still haven't fully broken them in and the sound can only get better. My advice is trust blindly because I wasn't able to find these on display anywhere.

I am blown away by these speakers! As someone who owns some pretty high-end audio products, I can not believe how sweet these speakers sound! The reviews and hype around these speakers are real!
The sound stage is amazing, I mean really amazing, as is the details you hear in music!
If your on the fence, don't be! You will not regret buying these speakers! I do have them hooked up to a powerful amp ( 440 watts into 4 ohms) so only at the 9 o'clock position they are plenty loud, but loudness isn't really want its about for me. It's more about the sound and these speakers have an excellent sound to them!
Very happy with this purchase and I can't recommend the Elac UB5's enough! Wow, just WOW!

I am an audiophile who loves to get the best bang for the buck. This is by far the best "bang for the buck" purchase I have ever made, even had I not purchased them on sale, sound better to me than speakers I have heard that cost far more. Balanced tones, imaging throughout the the room. I am using them with a Marantz 1605 (another good bang for the buck) and am in audiophile heaven, hearing subtleties in familiar music I have missed in the past. These apparently are on sale, $150.00 less than normal retail price. Don't wait!
