I was worried this cd was going to dissapoint me when I first put it in my car stereo, but fortunately serj managed to delight my earbuds once again. If you are a fan of system of a down you will find that this album is very different, but not at all in a bad way. Serj displays complete mastery of his unique vocals along with his talents as both a composer and a musician. If you're looking for a cd to bang heads to or something to relax to in your room; this cd diversifies between hard and soft rock, similar to mezmorize and hypnotize. In summary, if you're a fan of system of a down (or just good music), you must add this cd to your collection. :)

I'm sure many will disagree, but that's the beauty of a lot of music. You make up what it means to you. For me this isn't really that big of a leap from System of a Down. Obviously Serj wrote and performed for that band, and it's audible on Elect the Dead. Not to mention that John Dolmayan (drummer for System) plays on this album, so you're getting a lot of the same grooves. Of course that's not a bad thing, but it's there. A lot of the songs will stick in your head for days, and there is some beautiful textures in this release. I can't give this a 5 star review because while crazy lyrics, and playful melodies worked in System of a Down, this album has a much more serious tone so a lyric like "find the evil little perpetrator and feed him to a hungry alligator" just doesn't feel right to me. But then after that line Serj erupts into a haunting chorus and makes up for it. He does this a few times on Elect the Dead. Overall it's definitely a solid effort, and fans of SOAD won't feel alienated, just as fans of Serj will feel some growth.

This product is one of the best I have bought this year! The lyrics have meaning and aren't just some random words thrown together. Serj shows us that he can stand on his own, without System Of A Down. The songs will give you chills. The same voice you loved before, only now, it's even better. I listen to the CD all the time. I love it! I would recommend this CD to anyone who like SOAD, Serj, or Heavy Rock music!

From the lead singer of System of a Down, Serj Tankian, comes 'Elect the Dead,' a 12 track album with non-stop rocking! If you like Serj Tankian in System of a Down, than you will not be disappointed with this album. It is a must have for any fan of System of a Down or Hard Rock!

This cd is great. They hit you first with "Empty Walls" which is playing everywhere. The stories of deception and war propaganda are still evident, as you wouuld expect with Serj's writing. Overall this cd is a great listen and you will enjoy it if you like System of a Down. There are some great piano tracks on here as well, which is the work of Serj himself. If you get a chance to catch him live you will see him play.

This album rocks from the first song and does not stop until the end. I am a big fan of System of a Down, so this was a hard rocking companion to their other albums. I would definitely recommend buying this album.

this sounds exactly like system of a down (this is the lead singer of systems solo album) but what is great is that he put his own twist into the familiar sound so it is a little different but still is very classic to his system of a down origins. great for system of a down lovers. a very political album as well. great lyrics.

Serj Tankian is the best I swear! I love him in SOAD and I knew I could count on loving him on his own. I can't wait to get this album in my hot little hands so I can play it. UG Thank you Serj <3
