    The target audience ought to be revised. If your child is 4, or just turning 5, then this set is sufficient. But only just. It definitely has limited value for a 5 year old, and none for those above 5, even though the recommended age is 5 and older. The product and build quality itself is actually quite good. However you should get the Snaps Circuits - Junior 100 Experiments- Multi set instead; which, at the time of writing, is actually $5 cheaper than this beginner set. The Junior 100 set comes with 100 guided experiments that include blurbs about the functionality. By contrast, this beginner set includes only 20 guided experiments and significantly less parts for ongoing experimentation. With my assistance, My 5 year old completed all the experiments in 2 days. I then bout the Junior 100 set and she’s been far more engaged.

    I purchased this item to give to a 4 year old boy for Christmas, I have not used the circuit board,but his mother who is a school teacher has helped him with it and loves it to educate him about electronics.
