Lighting is way too often overlooked and good lighting (while expensive) just makes everything look better. I've been using a cheap pair of LED panels for my Twitch streaming needs for a while now and have also used many other things that range from small and easy to manage to gigantic with huge umbrellas for diffusion. This little mini LED panel exceeds everything else I've tried out and includes another feature that I literally can't find anywhere else and is the main reason I wanted a Key Light (or 3).
Out of the box, things are pretty standard. Elgato packages their stuff pretty well. The light feels good for it's size. Plenty of heft to it because of the battery. You can turn the light on and off and control the brightness and color temp from the controls on the unit as soon as you take it out of the box. This thing gets BRIGHT.
Setup for the real fun is really simple too. Use the Control Center app on your phone or computer and pair the new light. The app (I used my iPhone) takes you through the steps nicely and helps you connect the light to your wifi. I had a small hiccup at the end of setup where it told me there was a problem, but the wifi light on the device was solid (which is supposed to mean it's connected) and sure enough, restarting the Control Center app, the light showed up just fine.
Controlling the light through the Control Center apps is incredibly nice and convenient. One thing I hate about the lights I have now is manually needing to turn them on (everything else about my stream is literally set up with a single button press on my StreamDeck) and adjust the brightness if they ever lost power. It's a small thing but I'm big on automation and I haven't found any other lights that offer a REAL wireless control connection (some lights do give you a proprietary remote, I've found). So being able to turn this light on with my StreamDeck automatically is a game changer already. Using the app to adjust brightness if I ever need to is also great.
The REAL key feature and huge reason I wanted these lights are what you can do beyond control center. I have every intention on using third party tools to connect to the lights and integrate them into my bot and certain lighting effects. One of the first things I did after connecting these to wifi was to download a python module that allows you to control Key Lights and had a small script controlling my lights really quickly. Just having so many options with how to control these lights is going to be a game changer for me and I can't wait to keep figuring out new cool stuff I can do with them.
Lastly, the light comes with a standard mounting thread on the bottom so you can mount them pretty much anywhere (doesn't have to be the Elgato mounts). This also comes in handy because of the portable nature of this light. Being able to take it off of one mount and move it wherever else without worrying about the wire for a while will be pretty great for recording things away from my desk.
All said, I probably can't recommend this light much more. It's incredibly versatile. Really bright. Diffused really well. Can be controlled by so many means both officially and unofficially. And it's really not a bad price for a light of this quality that can do so much more than just shine bright. Definitely pick one up if it's in your budget.

So far so good. Changing some of the features is a pain because you have to use the app and the app has to be on the same wifi network. It’s not ideal when I purchased this for travel and use hotel WiFis. I configured with my home WiFi and I got stuck using the hotel’s.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Elgato Key Light Mini is the weight. For something this small and portable, it feels like you’re lugging around something extra. The next thing you’ll notice is that there is no way to mount it to your laptop or monitor. It requires a tripod, which is an additional expense and takes up more desktop real estate, or a magnetic surface such as a whiteboard, to mount. Considering the Logitech Litra Glow is less expensive, lighter, and comes with a unique and flexible mount, this is a bit of a shock. Once you get past these objections, though, there’s a lot to like about this light.
The Elgato is wireless. It works off of a cable or battery power and connects to your wireless network, which frees you from the tyranny of yet another USB-C cable. This also means it can be controlled from any PC, phone or tablet, not just the one you’re currently using. Connecting to WiFi is easy, so long as you do it correctly the first time. If you should make a mistake in the setup by, say, entering the wrong WiFi password, then it doesn’t connect. It also doesn’t give you an error message, and the only way to get around this is to do a full reset. Don’t ask how I discovered this. If you want to take it with you and connect through a different wireless network, you will have to reset it and reconnect it every time. There’s portable, and then there’s easily portable. Given the combination of weight, need for an external stand, and requirement that you reset and reconnect to every WiFi you want to use, this falls into the first category.
Once connected, the light is really, really bright. For those of use of a certain age, turning it down or placing it far away is a good idea. When placed far away, the brightness means it will still provide plenty of illumination, and you have a very smooth lighting area, free from hot spots. The app makes it simple to control brightness and temperature. The claimed battery life of four hours may be a bit optimistic when the brightness is high, but even turned all the way up I managed a very respectable three and half hours.
Overall, this is a really great light for the right situation. The question is, does your situation require a very bright, fully wireless light source, or does it require something that comes with its own mount, is lighter, and does not require resetting at every location because it’s not wireless?

This is a such a great little light! I work from home, which means a lot of Zoom and Teams meetings. My set up is far from idea, with a tiny desk in a dark corner of a room, so space (and light!) is at a premium. A light sufficient to properly light my calls takes up too much valuable desk space, until this mini light.
It provides a surprisingly bright light in such a small package, and i can choose to mount it on a small tripod or use the magnet to attach it to my file cabinet. Battery life at full brightness ran at just under 4 hours, so in all day meetings, i have to take a break to recharge the light, but a quick 30 minutes gets the battery back up to almost full.
The only drawback is connecting the light to my phone. Instead of Bluetooth, it uses Wifi (why?) and it uses a 2.4 ghz. It's just a pain to switch, so i dont bother with the app. The physical controls (brightness and warmth) are more than adequate for my needs, but if i was a serious photographer or vlogger and needed those functions, i would probably try to find a light that used Bluetooth connections.

The Corsair LED Light is fairly easy to get it working right out of the box. The printed directions are straightforward and easy to understand.
The light is plenty bright for using it for zoom calls.
It has an app that you can use to control the brightness levels and hue.
The link they provide in the manual takes you to a generic page on their website where you will see quite a few of their other products. It doesn’t necessary take you directly to the app download link you’re looking for. While looking through the webpage I could only find download links for Windows and Mac. I saw a link for downloading an app, but when I clicked on it, it was an app that costs. $7.99. Carefully looking at the app description, I was able to tell that this app was not for the light. I’m curious as to how many people clicked that link and paid for the app. I then went to the search bar of the App Store and type in the app name, and it came up. The correct app is free. Other than the issue with trying to find the correct app, the product works well and gets the job done.

I always have low expectations for small lights with big claims…so I was definitely pleasantly surprised by how impressed I have been with this one. Super bright while being compact and perfect for use on the go…or even just being able to set it up quickly where ever you use your laptop/mobile device/camera. Works seamlessly with the app and gives off great color range so everything looks good without being too warm or too cool. Decent battery life but if you need to juice it back up it charges pretty fast compared to other rechargeable lights I have used. I also love that it can be attached to a tripod if you need to. The brick like shape makes it sit sturdy on its own which is always a plus. Time will only tell how well this holds up but thankfully it has a 2 year warranty covering the battery (most that I have used only provides a 1 year warranty) so you can feel confident that you will be protected if anything did happen.
It doesn’t replace a full fledge lighting system setup of course but this little powerhouse definitely holds its own!

I must say that the price of this light may be off-putting to some at first, but I will say that after using this light for conference calls and pictures/videos with the family it is most definitely worth it. Right out of the box the build quality is exceptional as it has some heft to it and is not just a flimsy plastic light. The magnetic back is a nice feature that allows for even more versatility. The included long usb-c cable that features a right angle to ensure it does not affect the lighting is a nice addition as many premium products have begun excluding these or providing short inexpensive cables. Though the one thing that would have been nice would be a carrying case, but aside from this aspect right out of the box everything was top notch.
This premium quality did not stop when it came to the actual performance of the light. After powering the light on and downloading the control center app I was finally able to understand why Elgato key lights are considered a premium product. The varying color range and brightness fit my needs perfectly in a variety of lighting situations both indoors and outdoors. The ability to quickly change the brightness was great, though I will say that I prefer to just manually change this as the app just seemed like too much work when the physical button/wheel was right there. Then in regard to the battery I was definitely impressed with how long this lasted with the size of the light and the brightness it puts out to which the fast charging was great for extended work calls when I was on the go all day.
Overall, if you are looking for a portable key light for a multitude of uses I don`t think you can go wrong with this light from Elgato. The build quality, ease of use, and performance all stand out from other products within its product range.

I have received that product for the purpose of this review.
If you are looking for a lighting solution for anything from video content creation to zoom meetings, this little light has all of those covered.
In the box you will find the Light, a USB charging cable and instruction manual.
The instructions are very clear with diagrams for set-up and operation.
The Key Light Mini is very user friendly.
It has onboard controls that allow you to adjust the intensity and color temperature via a multi-function switch. Yu can also download an app from the App Store or Google Play Store to control its functions via your wireless network.
There is also an app for Windows or Mac that allow the same controls. Once the light is paired with your network you can control it with any device connected to the network, whether wired or wireless.
While testing the functions both with my PC running Windows and my iPhone, I noticed that there is almost no input lag from either app the actual function that is being controlled. I did notice a slight delay when changing either the brightness or color temperature on my iPhone to what was shown on the Windows application for control. This in no way hinders the performance, but if you are to monitor the input of the phone app on your PC it is noticeable. I was just checking to see if what was changed on the mobile app was mirrored on the PC app, and yes, it is.
The brightness can be adjusted from 3% to 100% and the color temperature ranges from very warm orange 2900K to a cool blue of 7000K.
For built-in web cams or standard web cams this may not be a problem as most have auto white balancing. For other cameras, like DSLR or Mirrorless camera this information is needed if you want to set the light a color temperature and adjust the white balance of the camera manually to match to create the truest color reproduction.
While testing the light during a video chat on Discord, I observed the battery life from fully charged to the light shutting itself off was about 2 hours. This is with charging it out of the box to a full battery charge and just using it. This is quite a good amount of time at approximately 5% brightness.
If you leave the light connected to the USB source, you could go for a longer time with more intense brightness without concern for battery life. This is accomplished by setting it to Studio mode in the app, which bypasses the battery altogether.
Studio Mode also helps extend the lifetime of the battery as well as avoids overheating during long hours of operation, although after my test it did not seem to be all that warm. Before testing, had I fully read the manual I would have set it to Studio mode and not had the light shut itself off after 2 hours due to a dead battery.
Charging from a dead battery to a full battery took about 1 hour with a 2.4A charger (which is recommended by the manufacturer)
As far as mounting and positioning the Light there are magnets built in the hold it on a metal surface. It seems that there are magnets just in the top part, it would have been better if the magnets were at each corner to help support the weight. The case appears to be all metal construction which make it a very sturdy light, but also a bit weighted and I found that it liked to slide down a couple of metal surfaces that I tested it on.
Another more versatile mounting option is the use of a standard ¼-20 thread that is used on most photography light stands or camera tripods. I have an adapter that screws into the bottom of the light and slides onto the flash mount of my camera. You can also get mounting arms that attach to your desk for a permanent solution in your office space, Elgato makes several options for your mounting needs, or you can use a basic camera tripod.
All in all, this little light packs a punch both in illumination and features. Don’t be fooled by it’s small size this thing is quite capable of providing enough light for most scenarios.

If you’re one to be on the go a lot the The Key Light Mini is a solid choice. You can use the key light mini with a selfie stick or tripod due to the screw thread. The light coming of the mini is exceptional for conference calls in poorly lit rooms and for taking pictures at night. The option to run the light off the rechargeable battery completely changes how you could use the light. The beauty of the product is the compact size, the ease of use, and of course the amount of light produced. For something roughly the size of a phone, you get a lot of light and are not tied to a power supply (within reason).

The Corsair Key Light Mini Portable LED is a top-notch product that is very versatile and produces a lot of light. I attached it to ta Flexible Tripod that allows me to wrap the legs around pretty much anything making this a very versatile setup. This light is no slouch and it gets very bright. This light is extremely useful for a wide array of applications from making videos to lighting up work projects you name it. I was very impressed by this little light. The ease of use the quality and the brightness especially amazed me and far exceeded my expectations. I could see a situation where two lights would come in handy and provide a larger area for recording video. I love the Key light mini and I think I will be picking up another one I am so impressed with it. It is easy to operate does what it is supposed to do and more. This light paired with another one would be fabulous for content creators that way you could angle them inward toward the subject. While you can get away with using one I would suggest getting two for the added flexibility!

For some reason, I really enjoy using this light. It has a great textured feel to it, it provides a nice clean light, and it just has a nice heft to it. It just feels quality.
The back of the unit has a really cool texture, and when you download the app, the app background matches the texture of the device. That was a nice touch. The unit works as a standalone light that you turn on and off, and change the brightness settings. The light is very consistent and even, and gets very bright when you need it. It can also be lowered to a nice soft glow. The bright gets super bright and will actually light up an entire room. I am actually thinking this will also come in clutch if there is a power outage. You can also change the color from a bright white to a cool yellow.
You can also download the control center app which allows you to control the light and all of its functions from your smart phone. The app is very basic and lets you turn the light on or off, change brightness, and change the color. The app took 2 attempts to find and connect the light at first, but since then it has worked well for me.
The only thing I don't like is that you have to leave the unit on in order to operate it via the app. Leaving it on keeps battery indicator lights and a blue WIFI light on at all times. It is a little distracting and think it will drain the battery much quicker when on stand by.

I received an Elgato Key Light Mini for free in exchange for an honest review.
Off the top, this device is a solid LED light panel and is certainly capable of working in most remote lighting conditions. The panel is solid in construction, has limited but useful toggles and buttons for overall use, and includes a standard female camera stand screw for those times when stable lighting is needed for a longer period of time.
Charging the panel is exceptionally simple -- simply use the included USB charging cable against a standard USB block and you are good to go. There is a MacBook-like power meter (similar to what MacBooks have had over the years) to show how much charge the device is holding (a button push shows any number of LEDs for charge amount).
In terms of lighting, there is a toggle wheel that allows you to increase or decrease the panel's light luminescence (depending upon how much light you need for a particular situation). This is helpful when you are outside taking shots and you don't want to saturate the subject with too much light.
Regarding battery power, I haven't yet tested to see if the claim of a 4-hour battery life is legitimate. However, if you are outside (or simply away from a power source) for particular situations to shoot, this panel shouldn't let you down.
I'd definitely recommend this panel for folks who are at the pro-sumer level of photography.
