Don’t waste your money
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely terrible. I usually pump 12-20 oz a session and this claimed it would stop when full. Not only was I not getting nearly enough milk.. but I also was LEAKING through my bras and my shirts. I was so excited for this item.

Usual app kinks, but still a life changer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This pump came too many years too late — I needed it with my first and second born as well! The idea of being able to pump and not be confined to a plug and tubes (and the need to find an outlet when in public) is absolutely priceless. Only other nursing moms can understand just how much nursing a baby dominates your life and this product is absolute GENIUS. Here are my pros and cons: PROS MOBILITY! No needing to be plugged up Battery life - we were able to pump 2 full bottles (about 20 mins per side) with some battery life remaining Customer service number, with short wait as well Parts are easy to wash Very quiet CONS As with most of these products connected to apps, the connectivity is an issue and the app can be a bit buggy sometimes A few times I would turn the pump on, then it almost over suctions then shuts off suddenly. Apparently this is a known issue and yet another result of the app connectivity problem The power lights sometimes can be seen from the outside so wearing a dark bra is my new normal The apps predicted amounts are often inaccurate; we stopped using it for this reason At the end of the day the fact remains — a nursing mom can pump while on the run, driving, working, washing dishes, whatever else. This in and of itself is a life changer so despite the kinks and hiccups, this is a quality product and pays for itself with the freedom it provides.

Completely Silent
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These breast pumps are an amazing piece of technology. They perform excellently, are incredibly easy to use, and are whisper silent while in use. In the box: In the box you get two pump, two sets of milk containers that attach to the pumps, two charging cables, and a bag to put the pumps in. My biggest complaint is that it didn’t come with charging bricks to connect to the charging cables. This seems to be a trend in tech but, given how expensive these are, one should have been included. Use: First you have to sterilize all the parts. Everything comes apart fairly easy and can be sterilized con the stove. (Except the pump itself, you don’t sterilize that). To use them, you just turn them on and place them in a bra to keep in place. They will automatically start in let down mode, which lasts about 2 minutes. After that the pumps automatically change to expression mode to pump. They are almost silent through the entire process. They do a great job expressing milk and are fairly comfortable and smaller than competing brands. There is a companion app that allows you to track production. You can assign either pump to each breast to track production on each. The app is pretty easy to use and is great for tracking production. Things I like: 1. Silent 2. The containers are reusable. No proprietary bags to buy. 3. Automatic switching to expression mode after two minutes allows you to use these pumps to power pump. 4. Easy to clean, everything can be sterilized easily. Things I don’t like: 1. Lack of charging bricks. Overall, these are great pump that are truly an engineering marvel. They are comfortable, silent, and small. Letting you pump on the go without even noticing.

small, quiet, game changer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The timing of this couldn't have been more perfect as we had child number two due days after receiving the Elvie Pump for review. I got everything unboxed and ready for my wife while she was still using our older wall plug pump unit. Immediately you're taken aback by just how small everything is. Sure, if you've never used one before you will think these are huge, but when put up against units from even a few years ago you see just how far Elvie has pushed the big things in a little package device aesthetic. There is a 2nd set of reusable canisters so you can keep pumping or use them for storage when needed. The suction/pump strength might not be quite as strong as the wall plug units, but my wife stated that there is no less milk drawn over the same amount of time between the two units, not that she can perceive anyway. So not only is the Elvie just as efficient, it is significantly quieter and obviously 100% more mobile considering you aren't tethered to a larger pump that's plugged into a wall. This has been massive over the past few weeks as working from home along with having to pump during COVID has made things difficult to say the least. Huge help for my wife knowing she can still work or have her video conferences taking place even while pumping and no one has any idea it's happening. There's none of the "oh, excuse me while I tend to this..." vibes going on as she puts it, it's a little thing but something you really appreciate once you finish up a pumping session and realize you were able to continue doing other things, exactly what the Elvies were designed and intended to do. Highly recommended!

Good Cordless Breast Pumps
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As I am exclusively pumping, I was excited to see if this pump lived up to all of the claims. I spend hours everyday pumping and the idea that I could actually do other things while pumping was a huge a draw. That said, the most important factor for me was is it an effective pump? It doesn’t matter what I can do while pumping if I’m not getting good output. I have found it to be comparable to the other pump I have (a well-loved model that comes in blue and pink) in both the output and the time I have to spend pumping. I am easily able to get multiple let downs and empty both sides during every pumping session. The next thing I considered was ease of use. This pump is very simple to put together and to use. There are a limited number of buttons and settings, so finding what works and is comfortable wasn’t confusing or difficult. It’s also very easy to clean, which I was initially worried about, but a normal bottle brush works great. This pump is very quiet. If there are other sounds going on, it’s hardly noticeable at all. I’ve even fallen asleep multiple times during a middle of the night pump and have pumped next to my sleeping husband without waking him. The app is a nice feature. You can customize the settings for each pump individually and adjust them both with the app or the buttons on the pump while in use. I also like that there is built in tracking so you can see when and how much you pump each session. Finally, yes, you can do things while pumping besides sitting. I’ve washed dishes, done laundry, vacuumed, cooked, etc. I didn’t feel comfortable doing a lot of bending or moving quickly though as I could hear the milk sloshing around and sometimes it triggered the bottle check thinking it was full. Also, let down is easier for me if I am more relaxed, so I never do anything too involved. Having everything contained within your bra makes sitting activities easier as well. There are no hoses or bottles getting in the way while I use my computer and I can play with my kids without worrying if anything is showing that they don’t want to see. I do have a few issues, mostly with the app. It disconnects from the pumps randomly while pumping which can be annoying. It would be nice if there was the option to add pumping sessions to the log that I did with my other pump too. Also for some reason the date on the pump log is a day behind which is really annoying, and I can’t find anywhere to change or update it. Lastly, it doesn’t come with a charging port, just cords. I ended up buying one separately because I got tired of having to swap them out with other cords. Overall though, I really like this pump and will continue to use it multiple times a day.

Best breast pump ever
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best breast pump that's ever been used in my house. Onto baby two, we've tried many different electric and manual pumps, and honestly nothing is as effective, quiet, and easy to use as the Elvie. Unboxing and set up are very easy, as there are instructions to guide you. The user friendly app is also super handy to help set things up, too. You can sanitize all components, and there are different sizes to accommodate all breast sizes. Speaking of the app, it's been something that, while unsure of at first, has become too easy to rely on. When using the Elvie hidden and unseen, the app will keep track of how much milk has been pumped and battery levels, along with some other data. Extremely useful in many different instances, and adds that extra level of confidence when using the pump. Now, as for the actual pumping: it’s great. Certainly allows for ample milk production, and is virtually silent when doing so. Battery is also good, as after a full charge and weekly use I haven’t needed to recharge it. The pump action latches almost instantly and within 5 minutes you can have a solid supply. The only really downside to the pump is that you probably don't need to buy the double pack, unless you have use for it. All that said, I would recommend this to any other moms that are looking to ease the burden of pumping.

Good in a pinch...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review was done by my wife for obvious reasons... I was excited about the prospect about having a much more portable pump that wouldn't tether me as much as my more standard electric pump that I've been using since our daughter was born. This does a pretty good job of that but I don't think I'm going to be replacing my more standard pump for this one. It's probably going to be more of a supplement for it. Setup is pretty easy with the app. Everything is displayed in a nice step-by-step guide that was fairly easy to follow. Once you're set up, the cups are easy to use. They don't make a lot of noise at all even if you turn up the suction all the way. They're definitely noticeable under your clothes and are slightly bulky but they're pretty comfortable to wear. The app is nicely set up and lets you work the functions of the pump without having to mess with buttons in your bra. You get a display for both cups which show you the battery life remaining, pumping speed and the estimated amount pumped. This estimate, I found, wasn't super accurate but the app let's you adjust the amount afterwards to the correct amount once you empty and measure it. There's also a timer you can set so you can be alerted if you're busy doing other things while pumping and lose track of time. Setting up and dismantling the cups was pretty simple. The manual has a step-by-step guide to follow. There are 6 main pieces. The pumping case with function displays, 2 pieces for the nipple guard and 3 pieces for the collecting bottle. The items are slim and function to allow the cups to take up a minimal amount of space when worn. Each cup has a carrying case and both could easily fit in your purse or baby bag. My main gripe about this pump is this. When wearing a traditional pump with an external pump and hoses, you are able to see the nipple position and flow and adjust if the placement is off at all. The outer case of these pumps don't allow you to see what's going on under them so it's harder to gauge and adjust if things aren't going well. This has let to inconsistent amounts while pumping. My traditional pump can usually average around 4-6 ounces with a 20 minute pump. Sometimes I get close to this when I'm not doing too much while using these portable cups but I've also had pumps where I only got about 2.5 ounces after 25 minutes while cooking dinner and pumping at the same time. More experience with them might yield some better, more consistent results, though. So for the most part, this Elvie pump is a nice supplement for your existing pump but I don't know if I'd recommend it as your only option unless you're literally on the go and never have time to sit down for 20 minutes to pump. Using these on a ride to work or while cooking is good but if you're able to just sit and pump, a standard pump with hoses will probably work much better for you.

The BEST on the market!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My favorite pump! The Elvie is the best pump I’ve tried! I own two other pumps: a Medela wired pump and a Freemie handsfree pump. I like the Elvie significantly more than the other two, and I am always reaching for this one over the other ones! This pump is portable with no wires or tubes so you’re not forced to be attached to a wall outlet or getting tangled up in wires. I multitask as I pump - I work from home, care for my baby, clean the house, wash dishes, and cook dinner. The pump is very comfortable to wear. It is easy to put together and easy to clean. It also has a really nice battery life - I pump for 15 minutes for 5 sessions on one charge. The volume output is phenomenal for me! I was able to pump out the same amount as my other two pumps (I can pump about 3 ounces in 10 minutes the Elvie). The pump is very quiet as well. It sounds a little bit like a printer. This makes pumping in public with the Elvie very discreet. The Elvie app is amazing - you can control the pump from it (e.g., letdown mode to stimulation mode). It also estimates how much volume you’ve pumped from each breast. If you have any troubleshooting issues, the customer service for Elvie is at your service. Nice touch. Overall, I love this pump!I It makes being a working mom less stressful!

Don't ever miss a beat!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best thing about this pump is that it’s mobile. Most machines have wires that you’re connected to and you’re stuck sitting in one place. This allows the user to fold laundry, finish cooking dinner, basically continuing my day without missing a beat. Inside the pump there are lines marked to help guide placement. This kit also include two bra strap extenders so the pump fits comfortably while being worn. This pump comes apart easily and it’s simple to clean. There’s nothing worse than cleaning all those pesky little parts from a pump. The suction isn’t terribly loud or uncomfortable. You can hear a low hum but nothing too loud that would be notable if you were on a phone call. And although there is tugging and suction there isn’t any pinching. I would say that the only cons for this machine would be that because it is wireless, you need to maintain the charge, if it’s not charged you can’t use it. It’s not a device that you can use while it’s connected to be charged. Also, it only came with the charing cord and no charging block. This is a huge drawback considering that they need to be charged independently. So you either need to have 2 available charing blocks already or go out and invest in a double USB block. It’s a huge oversight. Overall, this is the best pump for future mothers and mothers who don’t want to be stuck plugged into a wall while pumping.

Convenient and Comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a nursing mother, pumping can be overwhelming. I hate being tied down to pumping tubes and wires going everywhere. Babies sleep is unpredictable and sometimes you get full and just need to pump, whether it be just one breast or both. As most moms can agree this always seems to happen while you have a never ending list of other things to get done and you can't commit 20 minutes to a pumping session. I was very excited to have a hands free, wire free and tube free option with the Elvie breast pump. When I initially opened the box, although excited, I was slightly dreading learning a new product. When I opened the box I initially saw the two hubs and a little card that told you about the Elvie app. I immediately downloaded the app and opened the owner's manual. I disassembled and reassembled the pump and I liked how few parts there were. It was slightly difficult to separate the breast shield from the hub but I assume over time and with use it will be easier. The hub and parts felt very sturdy. At the time, I did not have the time to explore the app as many moms know life drags us in all different directions. I really wish I would have taken the time to do this first. While reading the manual I saw that there were two different size breast shields included but I could not figure out which was which because it was not printed on the breastshield. I immediately became frustrated wondering how the company would expect me to know the difference. After studying the manual and the breastshield I eventually realized that there is a different shape marker for each size. This was not obvious and was extremely frustrating. I disassembled the pieces and sanitized them and laid them out to dry. When I woke up and was getting ready for work I was quickly trying to assemble my new pumps. I like that there are 2 bottles for each hub to use throughout my work day. As I tried to assemble the spout to the bottle I could not figure out which way it went on. I finally got it on only to realize that I needed to turn it 180 degrees for it to be in the proper spot. Unfortunately I could not get the spout off no matter which way I twisted or turned so there was one part down for the day. As to not ruin a second I really had to study the parts. Eventually I realized that there is a small dash on the bottle and on the spout. Assuming they needed to line up I assembled that way and was glad to see that it was correct. I reviewed the manual while doing this and nowhere does it point out that there were lines or state to line up the lines, you really have to closely look at the photos to see this. A simple line stating to look for the marking and to line it up would have saved me a great deal of trouble. Onto my first pumping session. It was so easy to sync my pumps to the app. I love that there was a video showing how to do this. I also love how the breastshield has lines showing you where to line up your nipple for ideal comfort and output. It will definitely take a few uses to get this down but I love how there is a video showing you how to do this as well as a neat tip on how to get it correct inside of the app. I also love how the app has different videos as well as printed instructions walking you through your entire pumping process and clean up. It was strange to not be able to see my output like a typical pump but I like how the app shows your output. At no point did I ever have any discomfort while pumping. I like that the Elvie pumps automatically detect your let down and automatically switch between Stimulation and Expression modes. After I was done pumping I followed the instructions of breaking the seal between the pump and your nipple. Not until after I finished pumping did I truly realize how much thought went into this pump from a woman's standpoint. I have cleaning clothes for my pump while I am at work because I do not have a sanitary location to clean my pump between uses. I loved how I could just set the pump right down and pop the hub right off the bottle that was sitting on the table. The design was amazing! I cleaned my breast shield and dried it. I then needed to transfer my milk to my storage bags. The spout was perfectly designed to easily pour all of my expressed milk right into the bag without worrying about losing any milk at all. What surprised me most was that the app got my expressed milk amount 100% correct! I love that each pump has a bag to store them in as well. This makes it extremely convenient. My output of expressed milk was greater on one side than I typically get from a regular breast pump. The other was not as great but I feel like I may not have been properly aligned and will work on this more at my next pumping session. After multiple uses the only thing I don't like is that the updated app is inaccurate when it comes to milk production. Other than that, it's very easy to use and just as much output as my plug in pump. I'd give it 4 stars due to the minor quirks but I would still recommend this pump.
