I'm normally not a big Matt Damon fan - the Bourne movies seem trife and overdone. However, Elysium is a great mix of action, character and sci-fi. It tells a wonderful story about the human condition and does it with realistic effects.

The usual fare with the world being destroyed and a Utopia being built in another place. In this case it's just hop up to Elysium and you live like a king. Of course not everyone can afford to get there. The desperate souls who can't use whatever means they can to get the people to share the prosperity. Sounds familiar!! Are we talking movie or current affairs. There is definitely an agenda message being portrayed in my opinion but if you just dock that somewhere and enjoy the movie for what it is it doesn't disappoint for an action movie.

Well worth the 4k upgrade. Sony seems to have some of the best 4k discs out. The scene with the Nissan GTR pops off the screen. Great film in the collection now.

The movie was entertaining but not great. Watching it at home is better than paying to see it at the movie theatre. The plot is slow at the beginning and then get better slowly. Jodie Foster was the best in the film and Matt does his usual good acting.

THE MOVIE ELYSIUM I ALREADY WATCHED MORE THEN NOT ENOUGH TIMES. I HOPE THAT THE 4K VERSION OF THIS MOVIE IS GREAT. THE MOVIE IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO BUY.

Like the movie from the beginning to end. The plot was nice the movie is easy to understand. Matt Damon great on his role, and Jodie Foster aggressive powerful woman and look nice with dress she wears. Well if you District 9 you would like this one!

I'll admit I avoided this one because I assumed given the director and stars that this would be more preachy but it turned out to be a solid sci-fi movie as it does cover all of the standard sci-fi check boxes. It's certainly not a bad movie but it doesn't bring anything new to the table. It doesn't feel as "fresh" as District 9 did upon release. But as with District 9 the director knows how to capture the ugly side of humanity as both sides have almost no redeeming qualities and we are left stranded in the middle alongside a few emigrants desperate to leave Earth but with absolutely no control over either their fate or the audience's contrived emotional investment in their success.

Him alone is amazing, but then Jodie Foster, Diego Luna, a wonderful supporting cast, setting, effects, and from Neil Blonkamp, south african director, of Chappie, District 9, to name a few. Some people may not like this movie, I just like to see different, and unique views, and outakes people have on this world, and it was nice to see their vision on screen.

This Blu-ray does not disappoint. Is it worth the upgrade for the Atmos track? Not really.. there are not many movie scenes that benefit from this technology but the image quality has certainly improved and it’s worth the upgrade to 4K.

Matt Damon puts on a great performance as a man trying to change his ways. If you liked District 9, you will like this movie. You can even recognize the look of the technology in the two movies. All in all, a good Saturday evening fare.

After Blomkamp's District 9 I was excited for anything else he would make. Elysium looked amazing from the trailers and it remained visually awesome throughout. The biggest problem I had with the film was how heavy-handed it's political message is. Even if you might enjoy a "haves vs. have-nots" type of film I can't help but imagine you would smack your head at the story. Some very questionable acting in regards to the character Spider. He was hard to watch and not get annoyed by. Sharlto Copley made up the difference with his performance. His south African accent is taken to the extreme to provide a very unique, but fun character to watch.

I love this film, the story and acting were great. The 4k is amazing, video and audio are great, explosions sound nice and beefy on that surround sound. A must get.

A brilliant and gritty new sci-if movie. In a future where the earth is full of crime, pollution, and disease, the elite are all that can afford to live on a seemingly utopian space station. And there's exo-suits!!!

Neil Blomkamp does it again after District 9. Awesome special effects, great story and superb actors. I am a Sci-Fi geek and this movie only proves that Neil Blomkamp is a great Sci-Fi director. I can only hope that, if and when the Halo movie gets made, he gets to direct it! The story in this is really interesting and lifted with the actors involved.

Another normal people vs. the uber wealth rich movie but on a sci-fi-ish theme. I wasn't sure i would like a sci-fi film wiht Matt Damon but this was pretty good. He got to fill a role more like is pass roles so it geeled nicely.

great movie . BEAUTIFUL , CRISP PICTURE . One of those watch it again movies-- Sad ending . If i was the producer , it would have had a different ending . Buy it if you like futuristic movies , space travel , etc . 4K ROCKS !

For those that like crispy 4K with no grain, Elysium is for you! Super clean, crisp. Special effects blend extremely well. Underrated sci-fi film. Will not be let down.

I saw this movie in the movie theater. I really liked it. This is one of the best science fiction movies I have seen recently. The Blu Ray disc is fantastic in terms of both video and audio presentations. The acting is pretty good and the score is exciting. I really enjoyed watching this fun movie on Blu Ray again. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this movie. It's not the greatest science fiction movie but it is enjoyable.

If you are a fan of District 9 you will probably like this movie. It looks and sounds awesome but the plot is a little heavy handed with a political agenda. Overall a very exciting and entertaining sci-fi/action movie.
