My grandson uses it all day, best purchase ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tablet for my 4 year old grandson and now he loves it. Very easy to use and runs very smoothly. It's child friendly, it's got really good parental security so your child can't got on websites you don't want them. I am also very pleased with the durability and how easy it is to use.

Great idea, terrible execution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC and I wanted to get something to keep my 7-year old twin boys busy during the long drive home. These tablets seemed to fit the bill as I appreciated the educational aspect AND the parental controls. Unfortunately, the first tablet would randomly display error messages and freeze up regularly. The second was not even properly configured out of the box and it took some know how to get the PBS Android skin working properly. Then unfortunately it displayed the same symptoms as the first tablet. Back to the store with both. I think the idea of the PBS tablets is great, especially the parental controls. Too bad they were so cheaply made (software), lacking any quality control.

only 1 star bc I can't leave zero stars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product worked fine for about 2 months. Although it is very complicated to set up parental controls.. Also some of the preloaded apps allow kids to get on Youtube without any filtering. After about 2 mos it was only good for about 45 mins of play. Then it started blacking out or only showing the screen about 4 mins or so before it blacked out. I contacted the company and the replacement warranty is only good for 190 days. After that time you must pay $45 for another one. The Emantics rep in customer service told me the tablet is designed for about 6 mos of use because it's a "children's tablet". DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Save your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NEVER AGAIN. I purchased three of these tablets and each one broke with 6 months after I purchased it. The only reason I kept rebuying them was because it’s very easy to navigate. One of the tablets screen just gave out after six months and the Geek Squad guy said it was the LCD screen inside. The second tablet, the start button jammed after three months; also, for this tablet the battery exploded and opened the entire tablet in half. Finally, the third tablet only works if it is plugged in at all times. The manufacturer was USELESS. I had to message them twice and it took over a month to get a response only to find out I would have to pay minimum $45 plus any cost of parts to have it repaired.

I don't think it has been Beta tested
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got it for my son in January (2017) and had to return it next day. It was previously used and was sold as new. It was locked on someone else's account and was already password locked. After returned it got a new one and had to return it in a month. Locked on the PBS KIDS! opening screen (annoying for sure) going in a loop. Resetting button did not do anything to solve the problem (which is almost impossible to find anything thin, but strong enough to use on it). Can not connect to your PC and even tho PC recognize it, you can not put your data on it even if it has a SD card. You have to take SD card out and connect it to your PC. If you add your own videos and put the SD card back, you have to restart several times for it to recognize the SD card. They claim 6 hours of use time, but lucky if you get 3, even with max battery saver settings. Takes long time to charge also. The kids play mode wont allow me to run 3rd party app. Only positive thing is the screen not being glass, thus a bit more durable. The blue cover should be permanent, my kid keeps taking it off and have to remind him to put it back on. Many of the pre installed PBS apps are demos. Make sure you buy warranty if you buy it.

Wouldn't buy again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tablet 11 months ago for my 3 year old grandson. Battery life is terrible, display isn't bad, user interface is a bit confusing and the tablet stopped charging after 10 months of use. I would not recommend this tablet. Waste of money. Spend the xtra $20 and get a Kindle Fire for Kids.

Not exactly what I expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its so slow even when connected to WiFi & parental settings suck, I allowed all apps and it still says I need to approve it in parental setting, not to mention if you hold it to tight you can see the pressure on the screen

Do Not Recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tablet was extremely buggy--often stating that apps that I'd already approved had to be approved in Playtime Safe Mode, but not indicating how in any documentation. Called tech support and they wanted to reset tablet but couldn't say that would fix it. As a workaround, I found you could just use the tablet outside of kid mode and everything worked fine. When the battery died, the tablet wouldn't charge at all. Also, the parental controls don't work if Internet is not available. I returned it and bought something else.

Great content, horrible battery life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this tablet to replace a Sprout Cubby tablet where the touchscreen stopped responding after a year. The Sprout tablet lasted at least 5 hours with heavy use. This PBS tablet has excellent preloaded videos and games but the battery life is horrible. It dies within an hour and although it charges just as quickly it is extremely inconvenient for a kid watching a movie. I will be returning this tablet and getting an Amazon fire Kids tablet. This tablet has to be hooked up to a charger for continued use and it gets hot quick! PBS missed the mark on this tablet.

Great tablet for my toddler
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is exactly what we were looking for for our 3 year old and he loves it. Our only complaint is the battery life. I set the play timer for 3.5 hours, but the battery goes from 100% to nothing before the time limit kicks in.

PBS KIDS Playtime Pad

Excellent Early Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet is geared more towards younger kids. The games are much simpler, and the kids absolutely love them in class. It also updates very regularly, so you are always on the most current version of everything. It is a good mix of videos and games, and keeps the kids occupied while they can still learn things.

Garbage tablet, on 3rd replacement in 2 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On our 3rd PBS tablet in 2 months. So far twice now the phone has died, and upon being plugged in the screen will light up but stay black with no actual picture showing. It also wont reset when this happens. Besides that it's just complete garbage. It takes minutes to switch between apps and modes. It's the single most frustrating piece of technology I've ever had to deal with in the last 19 years of my life. Do NOT get this tablet you will absolutely regret it.

Great tablet for young kids
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It really is perfect for my 3/4 year old. She loves PBS. It has plenty of videos and games for her to play. She doesn't seem to have to much to complain about it. I have noticed that the screen is a little touchy, you really have to hammer on it to pick an option, the back covering on the tablet is a little on the weak side for me. Otherwise its a great tablet. It does what it should!

Horrible!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 of these, one for each kid. They are HORRIBLE!!!! My daughters won’t keep a charge, it literally dies as soon as you unplug it even when it shows 100% battery. My sons is constantly wiping out all of his games and has to be set up all over again like a new tablet. These were the biggest waste of money EVER!
