Since we already have a blueray playe with surround sound ,this plain jane dvd player wih HD upconversion works quite well.Also the price is right.

This DVD player is good; almost better than my old one. I just wish it had the capacity to add closed captions to my old DVDs that were made prior to them making it official to put closed captions on ALL movies, DVDs, and programs, so the deaf/hard of hearing are not always struggling to follow the dialogue (which ruins the movies and programs for us).

Unit was damaged and remote did not work at all. Returned to Best Buy yet I have not seen my refund. Best Buy makes excuses that the vendor is responsible for the refund yet I ordered it from Best Buy not a vendor. Next time I will stick with Amazon where I can get a refund without the hassle.
