Aside from the edits made and being a reissued DVD, I still consider this one a Muppet classic for all ages. The story is well-written, the songs by Paul Williams are catchy and the characters are just great. The bonus features (again, carried over from the previous DVD) are worth a look including a very in-depth documentary that I'm sure will please fans. Also, check out the bloopers for some great Muppet mayhem. This is hand's down a Christmas classic I will never get tired of and enjoy every year.

I had my Mom "videotape" this years ago and have been searching for a DVD of it for a while to add to my collection of Christmas videos. The 40th Anniversary one is better, I'm sure than the original would've been! I love it so much!

Hands down my absolute favorite Christmas movie. As a huge Jim Henson fan, I fell in love with this movie when I was about 6 years old and hVe loved it for the last 40 years just as much. I cannot recommend this enough.

Even though the website says a digital copy is included, it wasn’t and there’s no mention of it on the packaging itself so be forewarned.

It was nice to finally be able to purchase this on Blu Ray. A great classic that I’ve been watching since I was a young child. Happy that it includes the original opening with Kermit the Frog.

This is one of my wife's favorite movies to watch during the holidays. There are a few one liners, but all in the Muppet fashion. The story fixed on the subject of a family sacrificing for each other in an effort to give the other what they want during tough times. In the end they find out making each other happy is the real gift and stumble upon the way to more prosperity.

Was excited to see this on bluray. Have the standard edition and this looks a bit better. Colors are more vibrant but the widescreen version is terrible to watch.

My niece and I was trying to find this video, it was our favorite Christmas go to movie, I am so glad I was able to find it here. Now I can share it with my grandson and great niec.

I couldn't believe it when I found this at Best Buy! And for a super cheap price! I grew up watching emmet otter and his friends and cannot begin to tell you what a trip down memory lane this was for me, highly recommended!

Such a great Christmas movie. A classic. It definitely brought back memories of watching this as a kid. My 4 year old daughter likes watching it now.

I bought this as a gift for my dad. This is one of his favorite Christmas movies. I have to agree with him. My brother and grew up on this movie. I as well bought myself one and got my boys into it.

This is an older puppet video but true sweet Christmas story with Jim Henson puppets. Good music. Great family movie and has its own lesson in it too. Love the puppets facial features.

My wife and I were excited to get this on DVD. We both saw it on HBO as kids. This version is edited somewhat from the original. All the scenes with Kermit the Frog are not in this version. That should only bother folks who saw it on HBO back in the 70s.

Best Christmas movie ever. You should get this movie.

This is a great special I watched when I was young. I'm so glad I can share it with my kids every year, just wish it was available on Blu-Ray. God bless Jim Henson and his team!

One of our family's favorite Christmas programs. Very family friendly. TBe sure to turn subtitles on (especially for the first song) as it adds humor that you may miss out on.

This was a favorite Christmas special of mine as a kid and now my kids love it too! They find it to be somewhat old fashioned but that old muppet magic gets them In the end!

Had this movie on vhs now had to replace it on dvd good movie for Christmas holiday
