Energy ESW C10 Subwoofer

The energy esw c10 subwoofer completed my surround sound stereo system. I could not believe what sounds I was missing. My older less expensive subwoofer had about 90% of the sound the energy esw c10. Best Buy was stubborn about the price, but they gave me 10% off the list price. The 10% of made the price less than Amazon.com. Since I purchased all the other energy speakers at about 35% savings on the other 7 speakers, I was satisfied with the 10%.savings on the energy esw c10. I waited patiently for all the speakers to go on sales. I'm glad I did. All I can say is I can't believe what I was missing in sounds from my receiver. My wife, who was concerned about the price of all the speakers, could not believe the sounds we were missing either. Everyone that comes over our house for movie night cannot believe the sound from the speakers either. My wife and I our completely satisfied with our purchases.

The Energy 400W 10" sub is a great unit for larger rooms. The room I have it in is about 325 sq ft with a cathedral ceiling and no wall on the opposite side. It kicks with a strong, clean umph and reaches all corners of the room evenly. Nice feature about it is that it can shut off after no signal is received for a few minutes and cross over frequency is adjustable. My receiver (Onkyo 606) has an auto calibration feature, which probably helped a lot. Installation was very easy when purchasing a dedicated subwoofer cable.

Great Sound - Fills The Room!

Although I have no doubt this sub could provide a solid anchor to a home entertainment system, I use the Energy ESW-C10 exclusively for listening to music. The Energy provides an excellent boost to the low end of some vintage Energy ESM-2 speakers that I use with my Denon receiver. Crisp and clean, this sub will boom when low notes are thrown at it. The entire system looks great and, more importantly, sounds awesome too! I highly recommend the Energy ESW-C10 subwoofer!

i went into my local bestbuy today looking to buy a subwoofer for my bedroom setup and was surprised with what i was shown and told the staff member had told me about this subwoofer saying he owns one and telling how great it sounds so we go try one out and surprised with how it sounded he tells me the price $429.99 i had walked in with only 300 to spend but he then tells me that there is an open box one for $299,99 and he brings it over and the only thing different between that and an unopened one is the the tape on the box was cut i then take it home and it sounds just the same as the one in store so take the small risk with open box items you could save A LOT

I purchased this subwoofer with high hopes to upgrade from my Klipsch SW-350. What a let down it lacked depth and seem to be very under powered. Compared to the Klipsch 8 inch woofer it seem to be outclassed on a series of test. I currently own a pair of Energy CF-70 which are amazing unfortunately this Energy subwoofer is not up to par. I would not use this subwoofer if I got it for free. Returning this subwoofer and going back to Klipsch.

I listened to many subwoofers, and asked many questions of the Magnolia Theater staff before choosing this for my home theater, and once I set it up and calibrated my receiver, I am not impressed. The most important question I asked was how would this sub perform in a larger room (12' x 22') that is carpeted, and was assured by 2 different staff members that it would be more than enough when combined with my older Pioneer VSX-815. I tried each of the recommended wiring setups, and they all failed to match the performance of my towers without the sub. I am returning this in the morning, and suggesting that the Magnolia Theater staff, although well trained in product models and specs, need to be better trained in product performance and room acoustics and what effects that has on performance.

Sub is only good for music. Not for action movies. Not felt punch at all.
My previous 8" was a good one. I bought it for 150 from BB however, not recommended.

I'm going to strongly suggest not to buy this subwoofer. I bought one a year ago to this day and it was bad. I returned it to Best Buy and they exchanged it for another one which lasted a years time. I tried a third one and it didn't last two months. DONT BUY THIS SUB!! It is nothing but junk and won't last you

Bought this item about 2 years ago, and spent over $2,500 for the whole Energy system. For the price, there are much better manufacturers out there. The system sounded great until recently. I had the unit set to auto on and recently had friends over and it would not power on. I set it to manual and still got nothing It is dead in the water......I am guessing the internal speaker amp had failed. I do not know how this is possible since I have NEVER pushed the speakers to their maximum capacity since I live in a condo.
So for the money and reliability, I suggest you look into something for comparable or less money. In my eyes, these speakers are not worth the money.

Within 8 months of purchase blue LED and subwoofer stopped working. Geek Squad couldn't fix it, they ordered a new subwoofer. New one developed the same problem within a year. This time right after end of warranty.
