The advantages: 1. Low price. 2. Decent enough sound for its category. 3. Compact size. 4. Lighting can be turned off. The disadvantages: 1. No on-off switch! The only way to deactivate them is to unplug them, which forces me to manually switch between plugging in speakers or headphones on front-panel jacks of my PC, while the rear ones are useless. I could leave both plugged in if they could just be turned off. 2. No headphone passthrough jack. That would have been one way to mitigate the difficulty of switching. 3. The volume knob is in the middle of the cord, which in a typical desktop arrangement is not easy to reach (though if you're forced to use the front panel, that makes it a bit easier). Also, the inline volume knob pod also includes the lighting switch, which has very sharp corners. You won't need to use the switch much, but it can still make handling the volume knob unpleasant. I find it easier to set a good compromise level once and then use your computer's software volume setting, particularly if your keyboard has controls for it.
