I'm a electronics junkie. I probably have about 5 laptops now (old and newer) and this is by far the best that I've owned in years. The keyboard is the best that I've ever used. I write a lot of papers for school and I don't even think about jumping on my old laptop which use to be my fav to write on. The keys have just enough travel and make this pleasant clicking sound when contacted. There is zero lag in opening programs. This laptop is crazy fast. The screen is beautiful. It's also been very reliable since day one. I was NOT an HP fan and I had to talk myself into even buying it. Glad I did.

This laptop has a lot of great features. I have an older HP laptop with an I7 processor that I still use at work, but it requires a fan system underneath to keep it somewhat cool. You can fry an egg on the front left section of the keyboard. This new HP Envy stays so cool I can't believe it. Its got a great screen, plenty of RAM, and a well illuminated keyboard. I do wish it had a blu-ray drive, but that is almost impossible to find in laptops these days. For the price it would have been nice to have some flash memory built in.

Bulky, slow, too big, poor use with mouse, would never buy again.

Touchpad not user friendly & problems with display

At first I had problems connecting to internet. With help from HP I no longer had a functioning laptop. They sent a USB to do a recovery, and that didn't work.

Bought this on 09/16/16 had a solid state drive put it took it back on october 6, picked it up october 11, took it back october 20, they still have it spent way to much for the geek squad to mess this up.

I have had nothing but trouble with both computers since I purchased them. I have not had the time to get into the store to get service.

Could NOT get an internet connection even after spending hours on the phone with HP Support

Recognizes USB drives but drops them after appx 24-36 hours. Support was no help.

Freezes, not as fast as even an older i7 HP, sharp edges hurt hands.

This is an excellent laptop for the money. The screen is big enough that you can sit comfortably in front of it, but not so big that taking it with you feels like a chore. The internal speakers are a good deal better than I expected out of a laptop. It's not theater sound, but it's capable of being both loud and clear. Graphics and memory are good. Really good, considering the price. There are plenty of higher priced that laptops that offer no more, and a few even less. Overall, good build quality, excellent performance, and a very decent price.

well, it seems that it runs fast enough, and has a grafix card to boot so that's gr8 and all. the only thing is that the touch pad needs some work. I don't know if its available to work on in the settings or not cuz I'm new to PC (Switched from mac, my MacBook pro was stolen!) :( but other than that it seems fine. I still need to spend more time with it but it is a definite upgrade from the ASUS 15.9 w the i5 and 12g ram that I tried b4 this. that thing was cool because it was a tablet and a comp, but it lagged RIGHT after purchase and its speakers were on the bottom meaning whatever u were trying to listen to was being blasted into your table or bed or whatever u were sitting on. sorry for the rambling review. but I think this is over all a 4 star comp. as long as no glitches come my way....

This laptop is a great deal for the price. Very easy to use and handles multiple windows/tasks very well. The touch screen is a plus.

very good fast laptop, im certainly glad its one of the few that still has a built-in dvd drive since ive seen alot of other laptop manufacturers ditch dvd drives, if only this thing had a bluray drive it wouldve been perfect. my only complaint is that the battery life is around 3 hours or less when it was promised up to 7 hours

I use this computer primarily for school and computer games. I think its pretty great. Probably not ideal for super graphics intensive games but for basic games like The Sims 4 it does great.

Got laptop going to school for computer programming computer exceeds what I need and ram can be upgraded so so I can upgrade it as the need arises.

This laptop is great! It is good looking, has great resolution and runs fast. I have had no problems wit it and is also great for gaming.

The HP had what I needed for school with great speed. Also good for the gaming I do online.

My son purchased this computer to get him through 4 years of college and loves it.

Love this computer! I especially like the 16GB ram that comes standard.
