I was sick of always having to replace ink in my other printer. So far, this is really great on ink and the tanks hold a lot of ink to last a long time.

The Epson Expression ET-3700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer is a great new take on personal printers. To start this review, I will occasionally compare and contrast this printer to the Epson Workforce 3720, which I have had since July. Both devices are about the same size--small enough to fit on a desk, but don't take up too much space. Both of these printers have scan, print, and even fax functions, as well as wifi connectivity. The Ecotank printer was quite easy to set up, and came with very clear Quick Start instructions. The most novel part of this printer is it's ink tanks--it does not use the usual cartridges which we have all grown to know (and usually loathe due to the small amount of ink and high process), but rather, it has individual tanks for each ink color. One fills each color separately, and the ink bottles are "coded" so they only fit their own tank. The ink bottle fills the tank, and automatically stops when the tank is full. I found this process very easy, and only takes a little longer than a cartridge. Once filled with ink and the printer did its priming procedure, the printer easily was programmed to my wifi. It was also easily added to my Google Cloud Print, and Epson's own cloud print system. I added the Epson app to my (Android) cell phone, and printing or scanning is quite easy and quick. I really like the "Photos" portion of the app, which allows you to quickly print different sizes of pictures, and select different photo papers, and other quality options. Quite handy! Print quality for black and white text has been very good, and quick. The printer is a bit noisy, but no more so than average, and does have a "Quiet Mode" which I have not tried yet. Color printing appears to be good, and on par with my Epson Workforce printer. Scanning is almost silent, appears to be good quality. Once set to Google Cloud services, it can scan PDFs, jpgs, etc. to a computer or phone all from the screen on the printer. My only gripe, which is not significant to the actual print or scan functionality is that, unlike my Epson WF-3720, this printer does NOT have a touch screen, which would be a simple addition, and make it easier to navigate the on screen prompts. The scanner on this ET-3700 also does not have an Auto-Document Feeder, which is a mild inconvenience, but would be nice to have occasionally. Overall, I think that the "Ecotank" with large, refillable tanks of each individual ink color is a true game changer in the printer world, and this printer even comes with the initial fill bottles as well as one additional set of all colors. I wish it had a touchscreen and ADF to make it as easy to use as my other Epson, but these minor deficiencies are not enough to make me not happy to recommend this printer. Good printer for someone who prints often. It prints well and don't have to change the inks often.

Wow, super clear pages printed and photo quality pics printed cheaper than at the photo store

I travel in a fifth wheel rv for work and I needed a printer. While reading and searching reviews I came across this one and it did not disappoint. Setting up took some time and getting hooked up wirelessly was also a challenge as I do not have a wireless router. But once I got everything figured out it worked great. Am not disappointed with my purchase. In fact will probably be buying a second for the house.

This printer is replacing an Epson older printer. Easy set up and the printer seems pretty solid.
