I installed this product in a living room that has four Windows that are facing the north side, hence, the sun hit them all day long. Due to the high power of the lamps, the quality and the brightness exceeded my expectations. It is true that during the morning hours, I have to close the shades in at least two of the four Windows or else the picture will not be as bright. However, if I close two of the four Windows, the picture becomes as bright as a standard TV.

This projector was great. We used it to display a movie on our garage for a Christmas event in our neighborhood. It worked great, has a wonderful picture quality. And it did well in the light freezing fog that we had.

Great projector! Good picture...only entry level model, so limited audio outputs, and will need a sound bar for sound outdoors, but knew all that ahead of time. Makes for a great night outside watching movies and TV.

I purchased this projector to watch my Cowboys in the playoffs. I set it up a night before and it looked great even with the patio lights turned on. I assumed it would look alright in the day time and then look nice and sharp at night. However during the day I couldn't see anything on my covered patio wall because sun light was lighting up the place even though it was not direct. I had to go and buy a large tarp to cover the opening of patio to enjoy the game. Looks awesome at night. I just wish it had an audio out. Luckily I was using the dish receiver so I was able to send the video through HDMI and the audio out through RCA from the receiver. I purchased for 500 by doing a price match so for the price I decided to keep it.

I got this to replace an old Epson projector in our theater room. Its a lot more compact than the old one and thats a plus in my book. Now I don't have a giant piece of equipment hanging off of my ceiling. Its rated at 3000 lumens and gives a decent picture on the 100" screen. It set up easily and once I went through the different menus I found the features I needed to fine tune it. My old Epson had an adjustment on the lens so that I could size the picture to the screen pretty easily. This new unit has an adjustment but doesn't size down enough to fit the screen. So my college kid went into the menu named keystone and pulled each corner in to get it as close as we could. It still bleeds out onto the black frame but its a lot better than initially. I got it on sale so I think its a pretty good deal.

We bought an older projector and were having problems with it. We searched online for a reasonably priced projector that was made for home theaters and also had a short throw. We redid our room upstairs and had a 10 foot screen and the room was only 12 foot deep. We thought this projector would be ok for the time being. When we installed it we were blown away by how it filled up the whole 10 foot screen at only 12 foot away, and the picture was fantastic. It was clearer than our TV's in the other rooms. Not sure how much better the other projectors are for a whole lot more money, but this gives us an excellent picture and was very easy to set up. We plugged it in and it recognized the signal right away. I went through the menu and moved the screen around along with focusing a little better, but it was very simple to do. Would buy this projector again. Now I understand when people say pictures don't do the projector image justice. These pictures got grainy when I took and saved them, but they give you an idea. Picture is 100 times better in person.

Great present for a college kid that lives in a dorm or military personnel that lives in the barracks. Picture is pretty clear for it being 720HD. We didn't buy a screen for it, we just put it on the wall and even painted walls (light brown) the colors are great. Hooked the projector up in the bedroom and set it on the headboard and the projector heated up the room pretty quick. You will need the digital optical audio line if you plan on using an external sound source (soundbar) The 1 speaker that is on the projector is loud enough for a room, however the sound becomes distorted very quickly when used in a living room. The fan is a little noisy but when audio is playing you can barely notice it. We travel with it all the time hooking it up to the xbox1 or laptop. We also got the HDMI splitter to use so we can have multiple hdmi inputs to the projector. I would recommend with the price difference, getting the 1080p because I believe that one comes with 2 hdmi outputs. We only got this because it was the only one Best Buy had in stock within a 100 mile radius and I needed something before we left to overseas.

I purchased this projector to replace the Epson EX70 in our churches youth room, which had worn out. My main objectives in replacing the unit was to find something brighter and quieter than the last. This fits the bill in both areas. We use this projector in a well light room for presentations and we turn the lights down for videos. The projector is currently throwing the image from 8 ft away. It is being displayed on a screen with little fade, and that is on the economy mode. We have watched a couple movies and have not been distracted by the fan. It does run, but it is relatively quiet for both uses.

Excellent projector for backyard summer movies

After borrowing an Epson projector to show movies in the backyard last summer, this summer we decided to buy our own. I researched Epson, Optoma, ViewSonic and a few other brands, and in the end I went with the Epson 740HD at BestBuy. It offered the best combination of features, capabilities, price and availability: It was on my top five list, BestBuy had it, and it was on sale. (I would have had to order the others online and they weren't on sale. Yay BestBuy!) And the 740HD has worked out very well. It produces a big, bright, clear, sharp image on our white garage wall, it's dead simple to set up and use, seems to be well made, and so far (a few months) it's been completely problem-free and reliable. Two tips: One, it's not a full 1080 HD projector (it's 720), but we've shown full HD movies with it and they look great. If there's a real difference between 720 and 1080, it's not visible in our viewing setting, and the 1080 projectors were significantly more expensive. So, yay 720. Two, like most Epson projectors, it doesn't have an audio out jack (it does have a small built-in speaker, which is fairly loud), so I use it with a laptop (to play DVDs, NetFlix, Amazon, etc.) and run powered auxiliary speakers from the laptop headphone jack. This works just fine, and it also makes both audio and video controllable right from the laptop. We're very pleased with this projector and we'd recommend it.

    Amazing Lower Cost Projector

I haven'the yet loaded the included software because right out of the box it worked perfectly with my Toshiba Windows 8 laptop. Just connected the two with an HDMI cable and my screen was on the wall, very bright and very clear with a 3.5 ft by 6 ft image projected from about 11 ft away. Interestingly, the projector automatically changed my screen resolution to match it's 740 DPI resolution. When unplugged, my screen went back to higher resolution. I pondered the extra $300 for 1080p resolution, but Best Buy said I could return it if unsatisfied, so I opted to save the money, and was very happy. The clarity this projector provides is exceptional for the family photos I mostly use it for, which may be related to using the HDMI cable instead of one of the many options for connecting computer to projector. Maybe a highly detailed PowerPoint presentation or sophisticated artwork would need higher resolution, but I doubt it. I did try to connect an IPhone by USB and it didn't work. I suspect that if I'd loaded the software, it would've worked fine. I waited years for digital projector prices to come down, but necessity forced this purchase before I thought they were reasonable. This thing is amazingly bright and clear and easy to use, and if presenting images to a group in a small to mid-sized space (say 20x30 ft), it will impressively do the job.

I wanted a projector to watch Netflix and Hulu on a larger screen without having to buy a TV (no space). This one did the trick. Bright colors, good speakers, super adjustable screen positioning - I can watch on anywhere. It also works magnificently even with the biggest screen dimensions.

I was looking for a projector to use outside on the side of my house for movie nights with the family. I was a little skeptical of buying anything less than a 1080p projector, but I found this one on sale at the time. I am surprised at how good the picture quality is. There were cheaper 1080p projectors available, but I chose this one because of the 3,000 lumen brightness which makes it easier to see before it is dark out. It is easy to set up and take care of. It does get quite warm, so even though it says no cooldown period needed to unplug it, I tend to let it sit for an hour before storing it away.

We purchased the Epson projector for movie nights in our backyard and have since watched 2 movies (it's been chilly). The quality of the picture is beautiful and the projector has been great. We especially liked the fact that we got it on sale and still have a clear, high resolution picture when used on a screen. Very happy with our purchase so far.

I had enough reward point and decided to finally get a home theater projector. I got it on sale from $650 to $499. This little thing is awesome. Movies and my PS3 are crystal clear. The only problem I have is that I am having a hard time connecting my sound bar. Instructions says to connect the A/V cable to the projector and to the sound bar but still no sound. I am still troubleshooting the problem but I am sure its on my end.

After reviewing projector attributes, and after reading previous reviews, and the fact that it was on sale, this projector was selected. It met every expectations for being offset from the screen, the brightness, and the clarity desired. The set up was easy and the operation was user friendly. I would recommend it for someone interested in projecting the words of songs during a praise service.

Bought this to replace an old Epson that died 30 minutes before a presentation of 70 people. I was lucky to have a Best Buy very close. I had little time to se it up with my MacBook Pro, but it was super easy and the presentation went extremely well. Great value with more features than I need.

This projector was great for our family backyard movie nights. It shows a clear picture and great once it gets dark outside. I only wish it had an audio output include on the device. I didn't realize that wasn't there until we hooked it up the first time. We were able to get great sound through the DVD player connection. We'll be using this alot more.
