Scans quickly, and very easy to use. I purchased a Neat scanner a year ago and wish I would have bought this one!

We purchased this scanner for our front desk to be able to scan in paperwork and small cards. It does both, quickly and with very good quality. It's easy to install and interface with our other software. We used to spend over double the price of this scanner. But we didn't get the quality and versatility we have now with the Epson. I would recommend to anyone who's scanning 1000 pages or less a day.

Bought this for our condo association to scan 15 years of paper documents and receipts. At first I was using my all-in-one. But at 1 page per 2 minutes, I realized it would literally take years to complete this task. Enter the ES-400. While only about half as fast as the Fujitsu desktop scanner we have at work (about 2.5 pages per second), this one is more than adequate at about 1 page per second. This is not a lightweight scanner and has some heft to it. It will definitely complete the job before the end of the year...that is, if I stop being lazy and actually scan the documents. The only issue I have is the software isn't fully automated and after saving, you MUST click several buttons to complete a scan process. This step slows you down a bit.

Was trying to scan items with an all-in-one that kept jamming with the auto feeder and having to practically destroy the document to get it out of the rollers. This Epson does the trick, It is designed where it jams infrequently, but if it does, one flip of a lever separates the feeder where the document falls completely out without damaging it. It is also extremely fast and scans both sides of the document at once. Would recommend. The only downside is I can't figure out why a dedicated machine like this costs more than an all-in-one that has to support multiple functions. Even with that being said, this Epson is the most economical I have found with the features I needed.

This scanner has great speed and captures documents well. It runs quietly and is compact. It is fairly simple to use and loading a pile of pages / documents into it and watching it zip through saves on drudgery. It scans both sides. You may want to investigate further if you have photos to preserve.

The unit scans documents very fast. It’s taken some time to get used to it compared to my old scansnap, but can’t beat it for the price.

Use a handful of these around the office. They don't take up tons of space when closed and they do a fine job of scanning batch of paper probably 50 sheets or less. The single pass scanning for 2 sided documents is nice. You do have to use the software that comes with it to take advantage of the simple push to scan button on the front... which you will need to set up a profile for that button... specify your scan settings and where you want it to save things. It Would be nice if you had a couple other buttons your could assign profiles to... or maybe had the ability to do 2 or 3 presses of the button so you could assign more profiles... say one for separating the pages into different files, another one that does single sided, and one for 2 sided docs. The Software itself does give you a lot of options like removing blank pages and various resolutions and a few file types. And yes, you can set up a lot of profiles in there to easily choose from, you just need to open the software to choose a different one if you want to do something different than what you've assigned to it's one touch button. Overall, good scanner for home or office. Software is fairly easy to use, but might be a little confusing to someone who isn't comfortable on the PC.

My old scanner finally stopped working and I needed a new one asap. After some online research, I settled on the Epson ES-400. It's compact, easy to use, fast & efficient

We purchased this scanner for our 7th and 11th grade student to help them with their on-line schooling during the pandemic. We scanner was easy to set-up and it was easy to install the necessary drivers. We are using the scanner with Apple laptops. Scanner works well with Apple products. Quality of scans are good and it is easy to email scanned documents. Our students can use the scanner to submit their class work without any help. I gave the product 4 stars because the wired connection is a USB -2/3. Our Apple products have a USB-C connection. I purchased an adapter to plug into the computer and everything works well. Epson may need to consider offering a USB-C wired connection as the newer computers have this type of connection. We are happy with the product. We have been using it daily for almost a month without any issues. Great scanner for the price.

I’m a notary and loan signing agent, I purchased this scanner to scan loan documents with mixed paper sizes. I use legal and letter size pages and able to scan them all at the same run quickly. It’s small and easy to hook up. I can scan about 50-60 pages at a time. Then reload and it continues effortlessly till my stack of 100-200 pages is done. Saves the files on my laptop. From there I’m able to email or upload the scanned file. I purchased this last year and still very happy with it.

Very compact scanner that does the job effectively and quickly. The price is very nice compared to the job that this scanner does.

This is the best scanner that I have ever owned. The software and integration to Windows 10 systems, Adobe Pro, and Adobe DC are top notch. Scans so fast I don't hardly believe it. Double sided scans at 18 - 22 ppm!! RECOMMENDED HIGHLY!

This was definitely worth the money. I usually buy all in ones and use the scan feature but when I went to the store to look at them it appeared that they got larger over the past few years. They were huge! And people were complaining about how you cannot use the scanner, fax, etc if the printer is out of ink which totally blew my mind. I had an Epson Work force and I loved it but it stopped feeding documents through the auto feeder so I bit the bullet and bought a scanner. I'm glad that I did. I have it on the lowest dpi and the resolution is phenomenal. Also, I like how it folds into itself and I can scan pdfs and then export them to Word. I haven't really checked out the rest that this software can do but I do not regret this purchase at all.

It's nice to have a scanner at my desk that I can quickly scan invoices into my accounting program and into drop box. I scan over 1,000 documents per month, and this scanner does everything I need it to do. This is the second scanner I have purchased, and we have not had any issues with either one. It's a reliable piece of office equipment, and that's why I stuck with the Epson brand for the additional scanner. There may be better scanners, but this one work great for my office needs.

My office purchased 3 scanners of another, very popular brand for basic scanning purposes at individual desks. Overall, the scanner worked well. However, it ate paper and distorted pages as the scan occurred. Our IT professional made this as another recommendation, and we purchased one to try. The original 3 were returned and all replaced with this model. The staff love it; and I love not hearing complaints. Great scans, and somewhat better than the previous scanner. Improved ease-of-use!

Great scanner. Easy to use and does not jam. Scans both sides in one pass.

So far so good! This scanner is small, fits on my desk and does the job I need. I am pleasantly surprised that it will scan a document then save it into Word, PDF, JPG, Powerpoint, email it, etc. It scans in color, double sided, and if necessary has the option to rotate the image before you save it.

Pro: I like that it is compact and very easy to use. Con: There is a small piece on the scanner that is suppose to hold the scanned papers in place... it does not work properly.

Does a great job and scans quickly. Document feeder works well. I like the software. It makes it very easy to use. I mostly only scan a few sheets at a time (bills, receipts, etc.). Seems to handle everything well. Easy to select one or both sides. One thing that could be a little better is the navigation of directories when you want to save the scanned document.
