I’ve been using the Epson WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner (Model B11B261201) to scan sports cards for eBay, and it has seriously simplified my workflow. What used to take me all day can now be done in just over an hour for 100+ cards — a huge productivity boost. The scanner handles cards smoothly and consistently, and the duplex scanning (front/back in one pass) saves a ton of time. Setup was straightforward, and the software makes exporting to formats I need for listings really easy. Whether I’m using it for cards, receipts, or documents, it keeps pace without hiccups. I did not know what to expect with this scanner, I have used other scanners from different brands. But the EPSON scanner is unmatched in the speed and quality it provides when scanning a document. I love the function of scanning on both sides at the same time and especially the quality of the detail. Another interesting function is the option that gives you to scan slower and provide more details. The cancel button YES works to cancel scanning cancellation too fast. This is for the Epson - WorkForce ES-400 II Duplex Desktop Document Scanner This scanner is a step up for me. I’ve had a flatbed scanner for years now and this is a big improvement in several areas. It takes about 1/2 as much desk space as the flatbed. It will scan both sides of documents in color or black-and-white and do it in a hurry – 35 pages/minute. The quality is excellent as well. It can even handle very thin paper or wrinkled paper – you push the “slow” button which reduces the physical stress on the document. One bonus is that it can save a scanned document into a Microsoft Office format (MS Word, Excel or PowerPoint) rather than a PDF. The other is that it will scan business cards (including laminated cards). The only real issue I have is the set-up. There isn’t a lot of detail – just the (now) standard pictographs that sort-of, kind-of show you what needs to be done. UPSIDES: The power cable is reasonably long – I had to coil it up with a zip-tie before plugging it into an outlet strip. DOWNSIDES: (1) The USB cable is fairly short – around 3 feet – I needed 10 feet because the scanner is on the far left of my desk and the computer is under the right side of my desk. (2) I found out – the hard way – that you CANNOT plug the scanner’s USB cable into a USB hub – it must be plugged directly into the computer. (Unless I was doing something wrong – who knows!) (3) It would have been really nice if Epson included a dust cover with their scanners/printers to keep them dust-free but that’s not likely to happen. You’ll have to buy an after-market cover. Recommended. (Note: The photo shows the scanner in the operational configuration - it's much smaller when folded for storage.)

My unit included the ES400Ii Desktop Color Document Scanner, Super Speed USB Cable, AC Adapter, Power Cable, and a User Guide. I love how fast and easy it is to scan stacks of papers and to get and stay organized. Set up and driver installation was so easy and was such a breeze. It can scan documents up to 8.5"x240" as well as business cards and receipts. The only downside I found was that it has to be connected to my computer via USB cable because my computer gets moved between my living room, bedroom, and office. With a lot of people working from home a lot of people need to scan documents to provide proof of work etc. This little baby can do the work with no problem. Compact and portable, it's up and running in minutes. I was able to hook this up to my laptop and download the Epson software with minimal instructions. With ADF and Duplex capabilities just drop in what you need scanned and the software does the rest. This has really come in handy since I do taxes this time of year. This is the most useful scanner I have ever owned. Prior to this scanner, I was using an Epson all-in-one printer that had a flatbed and automatic document feeder (ADF) scanner function that can only scan documents one side at a time. Suffice it to say, the ADF on my all-in-on printer really behaves more like an “automatically doesn’t function” scanner. This awesome little scanner is a breath of fresh air for me. The setup was easy, albeit requiring the use of a USB-A to USB-B cable that they supplied. If you are going to try to set this up with a computer that only has USB-C ports, make sure you have a USB-A to USB-C adapter for ease of use and set up. (I have not yet figured out if this particular model connects via WIFI, I suspect not). I plugged this in as the directions showed and downloaded the Epson SmartScan software onto my Apple Macbook Pro running the most recent update of Big Sur. Normally, and with my other Epson printer included, I do not like proprietary printer software. However, this SmartScan software is just too great. Before you scan your document, you can choose whether you are going to scan a single side document or a double side document. After that selection, this thing just TAKES OFF and scans all of the pages faster than I could have imagined. I actually got startled when I first started the scanning process and the first page just rocketed through this scanner like the Tasmanian devil on crack. The next part of the scanning process on the software allows you to review the orientation, order, and quality of each scan in an easy to view process, allowing you to make adjustments as needed before saving. Then with the saving process, you have the ability to save directly to the computer, print and then save (printing occurring on a connected printer of course) Google Drive, to an email, to Microsoft Word and Excel, and more. I wasn’t sure, but I would have liked to see direct support for Microsoft Onedrive. However, I worked around this by setting up to save to a folder within my Onedrive folder on my Macbook Pro. With further use, something I wanted to note that I think is awesome is that it automatically detects if it is scanning a double-sided document or not! Not preselection required, just load the documents as instructed and press the scan button and it will take over from there! Love that. Another thing I found is that, by loading my driver’s license long way in (vertical) it scans it with ease. I just had to squeeze in the guides and make sure it was aligned properly. I found that it was inconsistent with other cards though, no matter how I aligned them. I would really consider this to be best accomplished at normal sized paper documents and that a flatbed would probably be best for cards etc. if you are seeking consistency. Overall, for a home office, working from home, or small business setting, I can’t imagine a better scanner. Its compact size places no great demands on space and its quality of scans and efficiency in scanning yield results that anyone can appreciate. This definitely has found its place in my set up! With tax season arriving, I am going to be pleased to have this scanner to help me get all my documents prepared and scanned in!

Why didn’t I get this sooner? Really speeds up document scanning with fast, clean and crisp images of BOTH sides of the document that you can easily attach to email, save to .pdf, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Evernote, Dropbox with the easy to use EpsonScan Smart app. Like the small form factor versus a giant All-in-One with an inferior flat bed scanner.

If you need to scan frequently to keep things organized or are just living a paperless life, the WorkForce is a game-changer. It is easy to set up and easy to configure what will happen with your scans. Full pages of information, receipts, incoming bills, etc., you will be able to find things quickly, and it is compact to fit right on your desk!

This scanner is very fast for its size. Setup is very simple and allows you to organize your documents however you want quickly and easily. Allows for double-sided scanning. The footprint is very compact and works great for our home-office cubbyhole.

This Epson Scanner has made working from home/home schooling so much easier. I am amazed at how much I needed a scanner like this. As the name implies, this Workforce does what it was meant to do at such an efficient rate. After a few weeks using it, it has made work/homework life much easier. Pros: -Easy to set up. Literally. Plug it in, power on, go to the epson website to download the needed software, and it’s ready to go. -Small, compact use. Having it situated next to my desktop, it’s hardly noticeable thanks to the paper tray folding in, along with the paper feeder coming from the top. I’m so happy that it doesn’t leave too much for a footprint on my desk, especially as I’m sharing it with my kids who are doing distance learning. -Fast scanning. Speaking about my kids, both of them require printing out and returning homework/classwork for their teacher to grade. They have many pages to scan and this workforce easily handles it in an efficient and fast manor. I also needed to scan a 26 page document for work and it scanned it in 300 dpi in seconds, which a multi use scanner and printer would take longer to scan. Cons: -Not fully aligned. When scanning it doesn’t fully align, and it is slightly off in some corners. The OCD part of me is highly annoyed, but it gets the work done. Overall, I am thoroughly happy with this Epson Workforce scanner. It’s a must need for any home office.

I have used plenty of scanners, both flatbed and document feed. The Epson ES-400II Duplex scanner surprised me. To test setup and ease of use, I had my wife unbox, install software, and fire up the scanner. She does okay around technology but lets say it's not something she does often or cares to do. There were no issues with getting the scanner up and running. The scanner is solid, takes up very little desktop space, and is a speedy quiet running machine. To test we ran a few letter sized documents through the scanner. After the software is running, the ease of a push button on the scanner to start scanning is very useful. I was really impressed at the speed of the scans. All documents came out very well with no issues. Setting to two sided, I thought it would scan, flip, and scan again. But the ES-400II scanner does both sides with a single scan. If you have two-sided documents to scan this is a huge time saver. We then wanted to test the scanner with photos. We have well over 1,000 family photos that we wanted to scan. Setting the software to color and a resolution of 800 dpi we begain the process. We started by putting in one photo, push the button to scan, adding the next photo, rinse and repeat. We then tried feeding the photos in by hand one after the other. To our delight the photos scanned without any other intervention. This absolutely speeds of this process. We can highly recommend this for such a task. There were larger photos that would not fit but that is to be expected. I was certainly delighted with the results of most photos. We had a few that it had some trouble with and those may require touch-up in an editing program. This is a great scanner for many home applications, but for businesses that require multiple document scans, even double-sided, I can say I would look to this Epson for a great solution. For the record I have done beta testing for hardware in the past, and I'm not one to say something is good when it's not. I too read reviews and want honest opinions. My go-to for office scanners. I buy these pretty regularly for clients who need scanners. They're reliable, have decent speed, and scans are always clear.

I was looking for a way to "digitize" the stacks of reports that I have to file for later use. This is working perfect!!! This scanner software allows me to save in Word or PDF format, and even will attach to Outlook to send in an e-mail. It's fast, very clear, and scans both sides in one pass. And a plus - it's supposed to only handle 50 pages - but I have ran 65 and 70 page reports at one time with no issues. Easy setup, and does not take up much space, Very happy with this purchase!!!!!!

Perfect home scanner. I wish it was wireless. I haven't tried multiple documents yet but the single docs scan well.

Love this scanner. It makes scanning easy and trouble-free. Very good quality and speed. Set-up is easy and smooth. Online instructions are easy to access and understand. The CEO loves the ability to scan without complications. While working on a current financial project the job was completed in less time than it would have taken to use the scanner on the printer. I would recommend this scanner to family and friends.

I purchased this based on the prior reviews being so positive. They were correct - this scanner does the job and more. Easy to set-up and scans in bulk with no jams (time-saver). Scans singe sided or double sided. Easy set-up (download) scanning software with access to cloud storage like Dropbox. I like the fact you can scan items like receipts (different sizes). Highly recommended!

I wish I would have tried this years ago. I've struggled with the use of Canon commercial grade copiers. Every time there was an update, the drivers wouldn't work. I'd spend hours trying to get the unit back to a functional level. Now that I have this scanner, I have reduced by work hours Every Day! It's fast, reliable, works just like you would hope. Worth every cent.

This scanner is amazing. I have used it to scan over 25,000 documents so far, both single sided and double sided, and the ease of operation and scan quality is excellent. I am a retired high school science teacher, and after I retired, I purchased it to scan all of my lesson plan notebooks for each class. That's about 40 3-inch, 3-ring binders. Now, I have recycled all that paper, donated the binders, and have all the information from all 40 notebooks on a single thumb drive (and on my computer) as pdf files. I have removed so much "clutter" from my home by scanning everything I can. I also put everything on an SSD in case of any emergency requiring evacuation I can take all of my important documents and papers with me in my shirt pocket!
