Escort - iXc Long-Range Radar and Laser Detector Works as expected

I have used many different brands of radar detectors over the years. I have found Escort to be the best, it seems to have good reception and rejection (false signals)

Great unit for the price. Can’t really go wrong. I’ve had other escorts so obviously I like it enough to purchase their other stuff. Would like to add drive cam too.

My Escort iXc radar detector was paired with the Escort M1 Dashcam and tested exclusively on my 2018 Honda Accord. There was no included manual with the radar detector, but there was short and concise set-up guide. If you need a more comprehensive guide (such as an owners manual), you will have to go online to gain access to the full instructions. Set up was pretty straight forward and the mounting of the radar detector on your windshield is a no brainer. The included windshield mount and suction cup are very strong. Once you place it into position it will stay put. You will have to pull on a "tab" to detach it. Initial testing of the radar detector took place during local driving conditions. Speed limits ranged from 15 to 45 miles per hour. It easily alerted me to upcoming red-light cameras with plenty of lead time. This red-light camera warning function is a great tool, as there are many times that I'm not paying attention to posted signage of upcoming red-light cameras. GREAT FEATURE. The radar unit did alert several times during local driving conditions, and the unit indicated KA band warnings. These warnings were due to a "Radar Speed Signs" that local police departments strategically place along the side of a road which captures and displays your vehicle speed. I found that Escort iXc did not provide adequate lead time warning when it came to these obstacles. In almost every instance, I was able to spot the Radar Speed Signs long before the iXc detected the signal. An awesome feature of the radar unit is that it uses the power of GPS to learn and recognize known speed traps, etc. End users continually update the data base whereby identifying known speed traps. I don't really have highway or freeway observations with respect as to how far in advance the radar unit was able to detect radar signals, since as of the date of this review I did not encounter any speed traps in which police radar was being operated. I have noticed that a number of customers have reported awesome alert distances, but I personally will have to experience that myself. Once I have information regarding this information, I will put comments at the bottom of my review to keep you updated. In closing, I would say that the Escort radar detector is loaded with a lot of great features and the unit is super easy to use. My unit was coupled with the Escort M1 Dashcam with outstanding results. I have owned several differing radar detectors through the years, and most of them have been plagued with loads of false alerts which tends to drive car operators crazy. So far during testing, this radar unit was pretty accurate with a very low number of false alerts. I live in a county which has plenty of traffic and several million people. So far, so good.

Escort owner for almost a decade, so was disappointed by this and its going back asap. Wifi - have to type in password EVERY SINGLE time I get in the car. Useless. GPS - I am going 2mph parked in my driveway, the speed is always higher than the speed on the escort live app. Useless. GPS part2 - signal constantly lost and speed goes blank (yeah don't pick up my speed from the escort live app, just show me nothing, that makes perfectly good sense). Useless on the drop and on not using the app as a backup. GPS part3 - doesn't remember to lock out false alerts in some areas because of GPS part2 (signal drop issue). This is a pathetic product with ridiculous price tag. Escort - shame on you...

Great product that saved me from getting several speeding tickets. Easy to use and together with the escort app, it’s very effective in spotting police.

First, I must say I have never owned a radar detector previously, so I have nothing to compare it too. I have been using the Escort - iXc for about 3 weeks now, including 2 trips over 1300 miles each. Except for the state of Virginia due to being illegal, the detector has worked flawlessly. I really enjoy the ease of use and features on the unit, especially the GPS markers it sets, which I have seen it do, so the next time through it can see if the same spot hits and it can mark it as fake. The sensitivity is unreal, period. This detector grabs signal from far away and around corners. I do not know how it does it, buy man, I have really been lucky in my life or this thing is just showing me where they hide. I have owned this Radar detector as we’ll as the M1 dash cam. When I first received the detector it was defective it never sounded off or made any noise at all. So I called and was able to get it replaced. Which was a very easy process thankfully. The screen is showing some wear and tear very dark lines running horizontally through the screen.(still able to view everything just an eye sore) it also seems like it is only work 50/50 now. It is more nerve racking than anything now. It worked well with the dash cam and I bought it cause if the combo but I also have a salty flavor from it cause I don’t know if I can trust the next one I buy for $400-$700, just for it to happen again.

This has been absolutely amazing, I have really enjoyed the cell phone app you can use as well.

Or cloud this in detection Decide works pretty well for the most part if you have your volume down on your radio you’ll be able to hear it I did however get two speeding tickets with this item the first water did not alert me soon enough and a second one did not alert me at all it may have gone off but I could not hear it because of the car radio used with the app did not show up the second time with a K a radar or whatever they were using if you are paying attention to it and the volume is down on your radio it does seem to work pretty well

So far no false signals. Love how it tells you where red light cameras are. Love the window mount.
