At first it seemed like a lot of $ yet it has helped to save travel time and will help keep the ins co from getting rich. Please know that the traffic authorities do not always have the radar on, so this will not give an "all go" for illegal speed. One must always be alert and reasonable when driving!

I have the Max2 as well. The 8500 gives more false indicators but if you need a good detector but can't pay $500+ then get the 8500. I have no issues with it other than some false indicators. Has good distance and I haven't had a ticket yet. Good job Passport

Great radar detector i had the older modal passport not the x50 my new x50 has far more range and sensitivity.I can't drive with out it. great detector for the price!!

This is my first Escort, heretofore, I've always had good performance from Beltronics, which is now owned by Escort. When I saw the super Black Friday price, I picked up 2 of them and have not been disappointed with their excellent range, which provides ample early warning time. Whereas my previous Beltronics had a solid, hefty feel to them and lasted for years, this Passport model is comparitively light weight, which may be due to newer, lighter electronics, but at this early stage I can only hope that this is not at the expense of long-term durability and reliability. Time will tell.

Great detector for the price. Escort quality with very few false alarms. Replaced a 10 year old passport and range is significantly longer.

This is my first Passport Radar/Laser detector. Bought it due to its ratings for its performance for my typical driving by Radarbusters.com and Radartest.com. Works well but there are comparable Bell Detectors for less with better features. Overall it performs as expected.

Works right out of the box with no issues. I felt the price was very fair and seems to have the same "guts" as the one that is twice the price. I am not paying for wireless or apps for my phone. This detector has great range both forward and backwards. I am very hesitant to travel with my window open or with the music too loud as it is sometimes difficult to hear. I wish there was a way to bluetooth it through my car speakers.

Euro X50 boasts an excellent price-performance ratio, since sensitivity can align to even several times more expensive devices.

For my first detector, it was very easy to get up and running. Needed to do my homework and do the reading for signal interpretation, but other than that. right our of the box it was up and running in less than a minute. Great choice of a road detector. I couldn't has asked for anything better. The Passport 8500 X50 Red has it all.

The Escort has already saved me twice from speeding tickets. The technology has really improved from earlier models.

I found this radar to work well as we traveled coast to coast recently. The only problem was with the Laser detection alert. It would go off with the bright sunlight. At some points, we had to turn it off. It did a great job detecting various radar bands,

Have owned other Otter cases. Good protection without being too large. With the added glass protected screen -- perfect. Could use more colors/styles. Not sure One- touch works....

Very surprised of the range this detector has. Blew me away ,when I thought there was a false alarm. I was traveling on a road and turned onto another. My alarm was going off before I turned down another road and about 1 mile later there was a trooper shooting radar all I have to say is wow. Not sure why other reviews complain about the range. Also I think many get more false alarms due to the range this thing has. I think it just picks up more false because of the range.

I must say that this is one of the best radar detectors I've owned. The only hiccup it had was catching a cop sitting on an on ramp right when I got to him, lucky though no ticket

This is my second radar detector of this brand. They are very reliable and easy to use.

This is still pretty new so I haven't went through many speed traps. This does go off from all highway work signs. But overall it is serving it's purpose well.

I just got it the other day and so far so good. My brothers had one and they have all said this is a very good brand and I'm tired of tickets so I am giving it a try.

Mostly purchased it for my piece of mind. Detects radar from far away. Sometimes you don't realize that you are driving 3 to 5 mph over the speed limit while those sharks are out there looking to meet their monthly quota. Purchased it at very good price and well worth the money. i would have spent more in tickets.

I love this thing so much, I just bought my second one - this time, for my wife. This one, unlike mine seems to adjust the volume once it recognizes a false reading. I've noticed it isn't as loud as mine on the false positives, but is just as loud on the real thing! I would like to see a little better quality window mount. The suction cups are small and don't always work well, but other than that, zero complaints.

Was gift for my husband. He loves it It is very reliable and doesn't go with false alarms.
