    This is a very bright "night light" probably too bright for a bedroom, but perfect to pull in a hallway or bathroom. We have also used it as a flashlight and it works well for that purpose too. We haven't had a power outage since purchase, so I don't know about the emergency light yet. Based on its use, I have no problem recommending it for purchase.

    So far these work great. I had another brand before and rechargeable batteries lasted only about 6 months before they would no longer hold a charge.

    I think every home should have this for emergencies. My only complaint is the light sensor in the auto seting is too sensitive. Even with dim lights, the flashlight turns on ...
