Do not set it for too many counties. Otherwise, it will be going off when the alert is not for your area. The only problem is that you have to have it powered on and then select the weather bulletin alert. Seems like as long as it has power (power cord or batteries) it should alert you regardless. We just have to remember to turn it on before going to bed if bad weather is a potential.

After having gone thru a storm several years ago without a radio, I determined I needed one. At that time I bought a simple weather radio. IT finally died. I bought this unit hoping it would act as a Clock and Weather Radio. Unlike the photo shown the unit backlight does not stay on, so no view of the clock without pushing a button. Second the program is confusing with double negative enable disable override codes and MULTIPLE options. I had considered setting the uint up for all weather alerts. Next problem is when the unit goes off, it will wake the dead (which is a good thing), but locating the right button to turn the alarm off is difficult in the dark out of a deep sleep. As of now it is sitting in a drawer unplugged...... I would not recommend this unit.

I have a weather radio on a bigger unit and needed something more compact. This is compact, runs on electricity or batteries, is also an AM/FM radio with clock but the main thing that drew me to this is it will notify me of emergencies. I can choose a siren or voice alert. It also has an LED display that will display the emergency. I'd recommend this for every household. It's not like the portable radio that is tucked away until an emergency occurs, this is something I leave on in my home office. I highly recommend this.

Purchased this instead of some of the most costly models. Does everything zi need it for.

It would be nice if this could run on batteries as well. This is due to if you take it in the shelter and the power goes out, or if you stay in your house and the power goes out. Other than that it does serve its purpose.

Function is great however the design and utility is really lacking in my opinion. The item was bought for a 74 year old grandmother and the more modern functions, initially, cause issues.

the radio functions well, however the emergency part of the radio is somewhat difficult to set up due to the instructions are not clear or complete.

WE HAVE SEVERAL WEATHER RADIOS OVER THE YEARS BUT THIS ONE IS MORE COMPACT AND EASILY SITS ANYWHERE CONVENIENT

Weather radio was fairly sensitive, sound quality ok and not too difficult to program.

The directions are not as clear as they should be. I am not even sure if I have it properly set up at this time.

Sound is awful. Stand falls off if you pick it up Size is good. Have not used it with batteries so cannot comment. Price was reasonable just wish we could understand what the person says. Have not had an alert since purchase in Jan.

I set up my device as soon as I got home from Best Buy and it was easy to get it set for our area. I was very happy with the sound...easy to hear and easy to understand. It has not let me down yet, starts informing me of any impending storms etc. before it comes on the news.

Slimline feature. Can hang on wall. Easy to program. Spacesaving feature, combiining NOAA with radio and alarm.

This device has been a useful tool. Has a sleek design and is lightweight.

The unit works, but setting it up is far more complicated than it should be. Entered my ASME code without any trouble, but there are three different modes to set in order to make sure it will sound off when a warning is issued. It seems the manufacturer is seeking to give max flexibility in order to tailor your warnings (e.g. sound a siren or not, use voice warning, turn on the radio), but it just ends up being difficult to tell whether the darn thing will actually work when I want it to. The instructions are virtually no help in explaining the differences between the various settings and display indicators.

this is a gift and i am not sure how it will work.

Have been shopping around for a simple clock radio for my father who is older and wanted something simple. Nothing with Bluetooth, WiFi, iPhone. He was getting bummed out, we went to many many stores and nothing liked. I said let's try best buy. He thought they would have even more high tech stuff there (they do) but when he saw this radio and what it had as features he was very excited we went right home to play with it. He just loves it. The weather alert feature is something he didn't know he wanted and is very happy with the price and the radio.

After a couple of tries I was finally able to set it up. Only con is that the volume is extremely loud and cannot be adjusted as the voice alert can. It is a sure thing that one will be awaken.

Purchased for my grandma. She loves it, and it was easy to program to her favorite stations
