    Great Mystery Dungeon Game

In a genre that is all but completely lacking on the 3DS, Etrian Mystery Dungeon nearly fills the void all by itself. Excellent gameplay, excellent graphics, superb enemy designs. The game is hard and you should approach it as something closer to a Etrian Odyssey game than a classic Mystery Dungeon game as you will need to explore a dungeon three or four times before you're ready to face the boss.

    Great Roguelike Dungeon RPG

The concept and design is similar to Etrian Odyssey IV and the gameplay is very much like the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games with strict penalties. Be prepared to lose all your items. Grinding everything back is fairly easy though. The only con is that you can't control the AI to be offensive, defensive, or following like the Pokemon games, but that's not too big of a deal.

The world needs more Mystery Dungeon games, and if mixing it with the cute art style of Etrian Odyssey is what it takes to get more of the genre, then I don't mind one bit. The game may seem a bit daunting at first but soon enough you'll rise yourself to the challenge it presents. A very enjoyable dungeon crawler.

While it may not be the best point of entry for the etrian universe it's definitely a challenging and fun mystery dungeon game. The learning curve is a bit steep but if you have a little patience to adjust your combat strategies you'll be well rewarded for your efforts in this game.

This title maintains the rich legacy of both its Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon roots, combined into a fantastic hybrid for the 3DS.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon is a mash-up of two franchises: Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon. It drops the 1st person view that the Etrian Odyssey games are known for and goes for an overhead view of the map and characters. The game can be pretty punishing to people who don't proceed forward with care and battles can take you by surprise. The game has a great art style and awesome soundtrack. Great for the hardcore RPG lover.

Really fun rogue-like game - not terribly hard like most of the genre, but there's enough depth and challenge in here for new comers and vets alike.

This is one of those games that you'll either love or hate. The learning curve is quite steep...especially if you are new to the series. But, if you're willing to put in the time you will fall in love with this game. The classes from Etrian are well-implemented into a more strategy focused battle system. If you like old-school RPGs or are a fan of either series...you certainly can't go wrong with Etrian Mystery Dungeon. Spend the money and put in the time. This is definitely one where you'll get out of it what you're willing to put in.

If your a fan of either of the Etrian or Mystery Dungeon series like I am then you will love this game. You'll get to form a party of 4 members for your guild with 10 different classes many from past Etrian Odyssey games and dungeon crawl throughout randomized dungeons via mystery dungeon gameplay. If you've never played a rogue-like before then this is a great game to start with. There is no perma death but you do loose all your gear and money if you fall in the dungeon but it makes the reward that much sweeter. The Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon games aren't heavy story driven games but mainly rely on great gameplay and this follows the same formula. You'll be able to sink many many hours into this game and there is even a lot of post game content and free dlc for the first month of the release but this game also has great replay value because of it's randomized dungeons which you don't see in the Etrian Odyssey games. You also get a neat art book with some concept art and the skill trees for all the classes and a nice soundtrack. Well worth $40 (around $32 if you have the gamers unlocked membership)

Rouge-like type gameplay from games like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and Shiren fuse with Etrian Odyssey. The result is basically a love letter to the Etrian Odyssey series and rougelike genre. Worth it if you like RPGs or neat collaborations between games.

This is a good purchase for people who have either played Mystery Dungeon games or Etrian Odyssey games. Atlus has been doing a lot of mixing of IPs lately, such as Persona Q, and this is no different. It take the hooks of the Etrian series and puts it into the Mystery Dungeon world, which makes for some interesting gameplay.

It is a nice change of pace from both Etrian Odyssey and other Mystery Dungeon games, and the mixture of elements with new additions like D.O.E. defense gives it a distinct flavor. Definitely worth checking out.

This game is really fun and has good graphics. The more you play, the more things open up and unlock. You get skill point to use on your team members to improve their skills. It is a turn based dungeon crawler.

Haven't played an Etrian Odyssey game or Mystery Dungeon game before, but I'm having a lot of fun with this game. The first print edition has an excellent, compact, minimalist design with the soundtrack CD going in the back of the art book. The rough sketch songs on the soundtrack were great; I listened to it before I started playing and it really got me excited to jump in.
