I love this lock! It does take some time to get your palm in the right position but once that happens, it does open very quickly. I also like that it's connected via Matter so I have this incorporated in an automation where when it unlocks, a hallway light turns on so we don't walk into a dark house. Really cool!

Super easy to install, works like a charm, setting up was also easy with the app. Hand palm reads better than fingerprint with my previous Yale access model.

I’ve been looking for a good door camera for awhile. I’ve kept my eye on this one for the price to drop a little. When I did it was a no brainer purchase. The videos is great and the palm scanner is awesome. I can now let people come in and check on my pets when I’m away without having to hand out keys. And I don’t know how many times I’ve searched the wrong pocket for my keys to get inside my house when my hands were full. I no longer have to worry about it.

I’ve had this lock installed for a while now and overall I’m happy with it, but I want to save people some money and give an honest breakdown of what actually matters day to day. The Good: This lock does exactly what I needed it to do. I’m someone who likes my door to be unlocked before I even reach it, and the auto-unlock feature handles that seamlessly. Auto-lock also works without issue — I never have to think about whether I left the door unlocked, which is the whole point. The build quality feels solid and installation was straightforward. Great for Renters: I live in an apartment, so I needed something that could swap in without permanently modifying anything. This lock is renter-friendly — it replaces your existing deadbolt without any major changes, so you can take it with you when you move. No drilling, no landlord headaches. No Subscriptions, No Cloud Dependency: This is a big one for me. There are no monthly fees, no subscription tiers, no data being sent off somewhere you can’t control. Everything runs on local storage with solid encryption, and I appreciate that eufy doesn’t hold your access behind a paywall. You buy it once and it just works. Save Your Money — Buy the Cheaper Version: If you’re looking at the full S3 Max lineup, seriously consider going with the lower-tier model. The touchscreen on the back panel sounds impressive on paper, but in real life it’s pretty pointless. You’re not standing inside your own home typing in a code — that’s not how any of this works in practice. The Palm Reader Is a Gimmick: I’ll admit, unlocking your door with your palm feels cool for about the first week. Then it gets old. Now I just use my phone like everyone else. It’s a fun party trick but don’t let it be the reason you pay more. Doorbell Delay Is Annoying: This is my biggest complaint. There’s a noticeable delay between someone ringing the doorbell and actually hearing it on my Alexa devices — and the phone notification is even slower. By the time your phone buzzes, whoever’s at the door has been standing there for a few awkward seconds. This needs improvement. Battery Life — Apartment Living Hurts It: Expect about a month to a month and a half on a charge under normal conditions, but keep in mind that every time someone walks past your door, the lock’s proximity detection reacts. Living in an apartment with regular foot traffic in the hallway will drain that battery faster than a house would. The saving grace is the swappable backup battery system. I bought a second battery so I can keep one charged and ready to swap while the other charges — I’d strongly recommend doing the same from day one. Bottom Line: Great lock for renters who want reliable auto-unlock/auto-lock, local control, and no ongoing fees. Just buy the base model, grab a second battery, and manage your expectations on the fancy biometric features.

I love this Smart wifi-connected doorlock. The palm reader works great for my wife and me. I like the various methods of locking and unlocking the door. I can check the battery levels on the app. The response time for real-time viewing is very good - less than a second of lag time it seems (compared to my security camera system by another brand). This is through the wifi versus a home base system by the other brand. Photo and video reviews are easy with the phone app. I probably don't need the screen view on the lock itself since I have it on the back door. Installation is easy if you don't have any door or striker plate modifications to make. I kept my old striker plate in place, but I used a metal file to allow the deadbolt to engage without any friction. I may install the striker plate that came with the Smartlock at a later date, but I'll have to chisel a bit a wood out since it is slightly bigger. I had to do that on the door edge so the plate would fit flush. It's the modifications and cleaning up the door from dirt and smudges before, during, or after installation that add to the time it takes. Programming and palm reading is quick and sort of fun if you like geek stuff. It's nice to look at the app and check the lock status and be able to change it from a distance. I also like the notification I get when someone leaves and locks the door while I am away from home. And remote video playback and review is quick. It replaced a 22 year-old PIN-entry lock that was long in the tooth and ugly from age. I recommend this lock if you like its features.

I like new tech so I tried the door lock. Like it or not. This is soooo nice. To b able to see who’s at your door without opening it. I will say use good batteries for long life. Cold weather works cheap batteries to hard. So get good ones. No key is another plus. If no batteries then use a physical key as a backup

Very easy to setup. I like that you have multiple options to open the door. My old one from a different brand was getting stuck and the battery died leaving me outside of the house. With this one you can even have the option to charge the battery from the outside with a power bank so you will still get access if something like that happens. Will recommend for people that forgot things like locking your door. This one have the option to auto lock after few seconds or remotely with you phone.

If you are looking for a convenient smart lock where you receive notifications of human movement outside and the door automatically locks after closing the door, this is the perfect smart lock. You can also adjust the setting of your automatic lock to either have the door lock immediately after you close the door OR adjustable seconds after you close the door. Also, if you set up your palm vein correctly, the lock is almost always unlocks once you put your palm in the designated position. Though I would say that when you click on the notification that there is movement outside your door, it genuinely takes a while for the video to load (round 30-60seconds). Nevertheless, the functionality is great and the battery life is genuinely very strong.

I’ve been using the Eufy smart lock with the palm vein reader, and it’s been a solid upgrade from the previous fingerprint variant Eufy lock I had. Installation was very easy and fit my existing door without any issues. The palm vein reader works quickly and consistently, making unlocking the door feel seamless and secure. I also like having multiple access options through the keypad, app, and physical key for backup. Compared to the older version, this model feels more refined and responsive, especially in day-to-day use. Overall, it’s a reliable and convenient smart lock, and a clear improvement over earlier Eufy models. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an easy-to-install smart lock with modern, hands-free access.

I this is my 3rd eufy lock the device, I am impressed with the way the palm lock function works. There is some room for improvment with the back screen but overall great quality product

I have had previous version, and let me say this new version is amazingly sophisticated. Practically touchless smart lock with longer battery, resolution on the camera is great, crystal clear view. Happy with the brand.

For a deadbolt door lock it definitely takes things to the next level. There is a screen the shows you a full shot of the entry way to see who and what is on the other side of the door. It also links with your Eufy app to let you know when the door is used as well as options to lock it from anywhere for peace of mind. Facial recognition and a hidden keyhole for a discreet profile on the outside. One of the coolest parts is that it has palm scanning tech to open to your specific hand pattern.

This works great. First was hesitant about the palm reading functionality, but it works really well and so much easier than a finger print reader. The 2nd packet camera is perfect to not miss any deliveries that with our Ring camera were out of view. The no monthly fee is truly great, as I was first concerned certain functionality would be missing, but they include creating activity zones and many other features that usually are only available with a subscription. We also got the HomeBase 3 that manages all eufy devices and stores all videos centrally!

This is one of the best products we've ever found on the market. It works great and does exactly what it’s supposed to. We recommended it to some friends. Having experienced its benefits, we can confirm it matches its description. So far, we haven't had any issues.

Best doorbell camera combo. I have been through Yale August Level smart locks but none compare to the Eufy system

The doorbell handle with a built-in camera is super convenient and great for security. Video quality is clear, motion alerts are quick, and being able to see who’s at the door from my phone is a game-changer. Installation was simple, and it makes the front door feel much safer
