Great doorbell with continuous recording
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great doorbell. Allows you to continuously record and store up to 5 days' worth on the included internal storage. I prefer this much better than paying for a subscription service. So far this doorbell has been amazing!

Much better than Ring
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have used a Ring doorbell for nearly 7 years and were frustrated with the lag in notification and video play. The Eufy works in a similar way to the Ring, but is much more responsive and reliable.

Good purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided we wanted a doorbell camera but was surprised when we learned that some charge a monthly fee. This one doesn't! It is easy to install, easy to setup, and provides exactly what we wanted in a doorbell camera.

Great alternative that doesn't need a subscription
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TL;DR - If you want a video doorbell with a lot of smart features but without the added expense of monthly service fees, the Eufy Security wired 2k video doorbell is the unit for you. Picture quality is amazingly crisp, audio quality is good for one of these units, the night vision works well, and the smart features like detection zones and motion sensitivity work very well. The associated app, Eufy Security, is easy to understand and walks you through the setup of the device. The remote chime works well. Installation nis a breeze. The only downside is there is no way to use your existing wired door chime with this unit, but that’s not such a big deal since it comes with a plug-in wireless chime. —————————————————— Unboxing and setup: The unit comes nicely packaged with everything you’ll need for installation. Included in the package is a flat mounting plate, an optional-to-use angled wall plate, a wiring extension adapter with spade terminals, a chime power bypass kit, and even extra screws. You’ll want to have a drill with an appropriate bit for your installation (wood bit for siding, metal bit for storm door frame, masonry bit for brick or flat stone work) and a small screwdriver. Before you start on the front door, make sure your doorbell wiring is set to bypass the chime completely. You can accomplish this with the chime bypass kit or by wiring the power leads to your door directly to the transformer outputs. Now that you're working on the doorbell itself, you'll want to make sure you set up an account with Eufy Security before you mount the video doorbell unit. once the app is setup and logged in, you'll go to add the doorbell and it'll ask to scan a QR code on the back of the doorbell unit itself. Once you do that, it walks you through the entire installation process within the app. Once you’re installed and the unit is powered on, you’ll be walked through WiFI setup. You can optionally configure the unit to use the wireless chime that comes in the package - which takes literally 5 seconds to do - but it’s not required for use unless you want a chime inside your home. The other part of setup is in the app itself - motion settings and sound settings for the device. It’s very intuitive and simple to do. You can make sure that cars and animals passing by don’t give you an alert every single time with ease, or you can make it so sensitive that insects basking in the glow of the IR emitter set it off, your choice. —————————————————— Usage: I can’t speak for Alexa integration, but I can for Google integration - casting to my Chromecast-enabled TVs worked with ease. The app played back live and recorded video with ease, and it kept record of whenever people would walk up to the house for those particular moments. Motion sensing works well, letting you know when someone’s walking up so you can answer the door without answering the door. Visuals, both during the day at at night, are crystal-clear no matter if you’re viewing on a small phone like an iPhone SE (first gen) or iPhone 6s, or a larger phone like an iPhone 11 Pro Max or Samsung Galaxy Tab 20. Ringing the bell causes the wireless chime to ring immediately, and that chime has a working range of at least 25 feet, even with an aluminum frame and stone wall in the way. The unit comes with 32GB of built-in storage, enough for 5 days worth of video. The only problem I had was getting the device to lock in place; the bigger the opening your doorbell wiring is coming out of, the easier this will be for you. —————————————————— Issues: My biggest issue is I was hoping to use this chime with a newly-restored Rittenhouse longbell unit, but Eufy has no provision to use an existing chime with its doorbell. Not a huge problem because I can always wire up a set of buttons to play the bell itself, but this could be a drawback to those of you who don't want to use a door chime that plugs into the wall. Even a device that could connect in-place to the existing chime and take advantage of the wireless signal the doorbell puts out would be great in this regard. Installation can be a little tight. as there's not much room to tuck wires within the assembly. The wide angle lens is really wide and the IR emitter is very bright. If your door is like mine where the unit will set back an inch or two into the door opening, consider getting a small block of wood to help set the unit out further. Your night time camera range will thank you. —————————————————— Closing thoughts: Eufy Security’s wired 2k video doorbell is a very solid contender in this space. Because you only have the up-front cost of purchasing the unit, you don’t have to worry about monthly fees like you do with other providers. Easy installation and solid performance are hallmarks of this device. Do I recommend it? Yes I do.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy. Motion detection is horrible. False motion alerts at night and every day at dawn. At times does not even detect me walking up to doorbell until I'm 3 feet away and sometimes not at all. I reset the doorbell multiple times, adjusted settings and sensitivity to no avail. The camera image quality was ok is the only good thing I can say about it. Final opinion is that this doorbell camera really sucks unless you use it as a expensive paperweight. It was a total waste of money. I replaced the Eufy with the Lorex 2k doorbell camera and it works well.

Fantastic doorbell camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't give out 5-star ratings very often. Most products that I like a lot still get 4 stars but this doorbell gets it for me. Despite it's one shortcoming (right now) I still enjoy this doorbell camera very much and think it beats the old doorbell camera I had by a mile. I've had a Simplisafe doorbell camera for a while now and it was... ok. The app worked... most of the time. I could review clips that were recorded.. some of the time. And they charged me for that every month. It wasn't a great experience. This Eufy doorbell camera is night and day a great experience and blows the Simplisafe camera out of the water. I don't have experience with other doorbell cams so I don't know how it compares. Setup was pretty easy. Installation was a breeze since I already had a doorbell camera installed, I think it took me longer to find the old box for my old doorbell cam so I could find the "key" to unlock and remove the old doorbell than it did to reinstall my the new one. I would have liked to keep my current doorbell chime but i'm fine with sacrificing that if this camera needs that extra power and works as well as it does. After installation, you just set up through the app and it takes you step by step through everything. There's a little QR Code you scan that's included inside the packaging and it does most of the work for you. Didn't have any troubles with setup at all. The features of this doorbell are what make it stand out. And it does what it does for free! No stupid $5/mo charge for storing a few clips in the cloud that only play back about 60% of the time. This doorbell comes with it's own MicroSD card to record on and everything streams straight from the device so you don't have pay a dime after you buy the doorbell. You also have 2 options for recording. You can record any time the doorbell sees motion based on your detection zone you set up and the ignored zone you setup and how close or far you want it to detect. This will record clips in 2k resolution any time it detects the appropriate motion. But you can also set it to record nonstop if you'd like. It drops the resolution to 1080p to save space but you have a 24/7 feed outside if you need it. Up to you. Again, both of these features are included and you don't need to pay anything extra for them. Their AI might need a little more training because I kept getting notifications about a car tire being a human in front of my house but I just set the distance a little closer and that has mostly cleared up. The app works really well. I haven't had any issues playing back clips or scrubbing through the timeline. Every time there's motion, I can tap the notification and immediately see what the motion is/was. Playback is probably dependent on your wifi and home network speeds but for me I haven't had any issue or delay playing any clips or timeline segments. It just works. The single drawback as of right now with this doorbell is that there is no HomeKit support. I'm not even worried about HomeKit Secure Video right now, but just plain HomeKit support so I can view the live video from the same place I can see the rest of my cameras or get a notification on my AppleTV when someone rings the doorbell with a feed from the camera. This would be an amazing addition and I hope they're working hard on bringing this support soon. All that said, I'm a big fan of this doorbell if you couldn't tell. It may have some things to do with the really miserable experience I felt the Simplisafe doorbell gave me but everything just works with this one and I don't have to pay them every month to make it do that. I can't speak for how this stacks up to the bigger competition from Amazon or Google but I am very happy with the offering here and I hope that HomeKit support puts it over the top soon with a software/firmware update. If you're in the market and this is in your budget, I can't recommend it enough.

Avoid - Stops working correctly after some time
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This doorbell works great out of the box. The video is clear. Notifications arrive on the phone quickly after motion is detected or the doorbell is pressed. The HDR video is not recommended as it makes the video motion super-choppy. For my location leaving it off is fine. The continuous recording is only in 1080p. I wish there was an option for both 2k (with less time) or 1080p continuous record. You can remove the fisheye distortion however you lose field of view so I left it off. The AI notifications would routinely think a car wheel is a person. The biggest issue of all is that it after a while it becomes unresponsive and stops recording video and sending notifications. You can also no longer view videos or restart the device until you power cycle the doorbell which is not easy since it's wired in. I think it is related to filling up of the memory. If i format the memory and start over it works again until it gets to about 92% full and then it stops working again. This makes the doorbell not usable.

Please provide a video clip showing the issue of false triggered to assist you further.
Normally the old clips will be looped recorded over when the storage is full, the doorbell won’t stop recording video and sending notifications. To find the root cause, please provide the following information:
1. Your Eufy account in the format of the email address.
2. The SN# of the doorbell.
