A little weird when I first saw the series but ok.

This film is great visually and is just a great continuation of the overall story. It just feels like it came to us too late and some of the opening scenes are confusing.

I enjoy the neon genesis series but this movie was definitely strange but adequate.

I watch the series so I needed this for my collection. I'm not really certain how I feel about this particular addition.

3.33 wasn't as good as the first two in my opinion. I hope that 4.44 takes a lot less time then this one did to come out.

Item was packed poorly and damaged ,zero protective packing material. It was was simply placed in a box. This is a collectors item that costs a lot of money considering. I would purchase this item using a different vendor. Customer Service was rude, now I've been inconvenienced in returning the item as I have to visit a store or post office, which in the situation we're all in is simply unfortunate. The item simply should have been wrapped in packing paper at the very least.

Beautiful anime and a compelling story definitely give it a watch

While the movie is visually beautiful, after over 3 years of waiting, it falls flat. 2.22 was so much better.

This just isn't a compelling movie. If you're super into meaningless technical jargon the beginning might work for you, but there's nothing to connect with on an emotional level. As a fan of the series and someone who enjoyed the previous movies for what they were, this was a disappointment and a bad time.

I liked a lot about this movie, but I really wish it hadn't been years between the US releases of 2.22 and 3.33. I'll admit that I watched this without watching Evangelion 1.11 and 2.22 again, so I'm going to try to review this movie as a standalone release. Technically, this is very well done - plenty of fantastic visuals and sound. I wasn't really crazy about the story in this version - it's lighter on action and heavier on the character moments, where previous releases were better balanced. However, I'm inclined to give this some leeway because I am hoping that 4.44 is a good conclusion to this version of Evangelion, thus redeeming 3.33 a bit. It's not as good as the previous entries, but it's still Evangelion, so I am recommending it.

Evangelion is probably one of the best anime series that was able to draw adult and American crowds with its different entry into the genre. Evangelion 3.33 is part of a reboot and shows its teeth as such. Evangelion 1.11 & 2.22 were essentially condensed reruns of the first 20 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion (the original TV show), with some separation in the second movie. The problem is that people who loved the TV show will not enjoy this if they demand it remain faithful to the original. If you watch it without that expectation, you will enjoy this for being something else. Now, its not as good as 2.22, it feels like a run-up to the fourth Rebuild film. I wish they would hurry up and make 3.0+1.0 (the fourth film).

This is the third part of the retelling of Evangelion. There have been major changes to characters and story, some serve to strengthen the narrative while others are just change for change's sake. You do not need to have seen the original Evangelion, only the last two films. I'm still undecided as to which version of the story I prefer, but both are worth watching of only for the animation quality alone. The animation quality and visuals are top notch.
