Unlike some reviewers, I like "Event Horizon". I have seen it a few times, and this Blu-ray version has a bright, clear and very sharp picture. Colors are also very good. (I viewed it on my LG 55" LED 2160p Smart 3D 4KUHD TV.) The acting, storyline and action are all good. CGI is okay (keeping in mind that this is a 1997 film). There are some shocks as well as gore, blood, swearing and minimal nudity. If these things bother you, you may not want to view the film. Also, this is not a film for young children. All in all, though, I found the film entertaining and would recommend it to other adults.

Event Horizon is a cult-classic sci-fi horror film hybrid from 1997, starring Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne. While not as good as Alien, it has the same pretensions of that earlier film with its stark interiors and crew of relatable, working people thrust into a situation beyond their understanding. There are many moments of terror that are still powerful even if some of the CG effects are a bit dated today. This Shout Factory release comes with a slipcover and tons of bonus features so it's a must for any fan of the movie.

This is what you get when you mix horror and sci-fi and get the formula right. While some of the techobabble can be boring to sit through, the horror aspect of the movie is what you're really watching it for. From what I understand, this is what Jason X was supposed to be more like had it not been for the studio interference and hacking up the script even while filming. Some of the CG effects don't hold up so well today, but at least it's kept to a minimum. Lovers of both sci-fi and horror will enjoy this.

A movie I have come to appreciate more and more over the years. It is quite a chilling sci-fi horror flick that that gives you the goose bumps. The atmosphere, the sound, and the particular look of the movie is what creates the spook. It is also the reason why I keep coming back to view this blu ray again and again for it's uniqueness. A great transfer, both the picture and the audio. Some of the bass on this transfer is so strong it will kill your speakers, careful. A must buy. I recommended it folks.

One of the best sci-fi horror films ever made. If you are a fan of 2001 A Space Odyssey (1968) , Silent Running (1972) , Alien (1979) and it's sequels , Outland (1981) or Sunshine (2001) than this film is a must own. It is kind of a hybrid film of Alien (1979) meets Hellraiser (1987) and will satisfy the not only sci-fi fans with it's flawless visual effects , but the best horror fans as well with it's great make-up effects and gore. This Scream Factory collectors edition blu-ray is a must own..!

Always heard about this movie but never seen it and im glad i finally did. This was a lot of fun and younger than morpheus Lawrence Fishburn was quite good in this movie. I have to say also that shout factory always makes a great presentation with their blu rays with the unique slip covers and reversible inserts, i wish all the big studios would take note of this type of presentation.

Loved this movie growing up but I could never find a blu ray copy, just dvd. Just when I was gonna bite the dust and get the DVD I went to my local Best Buy and there it was. Snatched it up right away. Great sci fi horror film. A bit cheesy and sadly too short but overall if you like the genre I think you’ll enjoy this film.

This is a tough call because the movie is good but not great. I heard they had over cut this film to please the studio. Which didn't help the plot. It is a very good looking film, the special effects look great except for the very beginning. It's got a very good cast. Let's just say it's no ALIEN or THE THING.

Although the famous "missing footage" has apparently been lost forever, this Shout! Factory blu ray is still worth it. The extras are extensive and the movie is great for Paul WS Anderson standards (before he decided to put Milla on every single movie he made). Worth even a blind buy for horror fans!

I watched this years ago and it scared the living daylights out of me. (I literally gave away the vhs tape.) Recently I found it on a list of movies and read more about it and found the premise intriguing. I had the opportunity to view it again and decided I needed to own it. It's still scary as heck but for different reasons. The gory scenes go by in flashes & you really don't see much unless you watch the behind the scenes features on the disc. That being said the movie has a lot of suspense to it and a certain amount of intelligence to the plot I think. I now find Event Horizon is disturbingly good.

Lawrence Fishburn and Sam Neill really make this one "Click". Pretty good special effects to the point that it doesn't become "unreal". Video conversion to Blu-ray is very well done, clearer than DVD and the audio is very clear and bright, most older movies that get converted to Blu-ray turn out very staticy and muffled. This one is not. A must have for your Sci-Fi collection.

There isn't an original idea in this entire movie and I will never stop enjoying it. The cast is so well served by the amazing production design. Every actor dives into their roles and you believe every word they speak.
