Great quality of hardware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, what a beast of a gpu. The quality of the hardware was amazing. I love the ability of the fan to be completely silent until I really need to warm the chips up. Comes with a bios switch. Biggest reason I got this was the OC potential reading it can get to 980 stock speeds excites me. I will update the review when i start tweaking.

Decent product if you want the "lesser" version
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't make the mistake that I did! This card has a version (a couple, apparently#, that have a faster clocked and better cooled. And cost less! It's the AC2.0+ version. After buying the AC2.0 #non-plus) version from BB, then another from a different seller, I found the cards were couldn't SLI. I also noticed differences between the two, like the older power connector on the BB one. After contacting EVGA, they told me that the BB card was the lesser of the two and to RMA it. They sent me an AC2.0+ version to match the card I bought elsewhere. I'm grateful for that. People, be careful when buying from BB. I recommend this product in non-SLI configuration and if purchased elsewhere where the price is not inflated. In this case the card is overpriced and old. I'm also tired of the customer having to do price matching to bring down overcharges. Do your own work BB!

Very Bad Coil Whine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a gtx 960 but it just wasn't giving me the FPS I wanted so I returned it to the online retailer that I purchased it from and bought this card from Best Buy. The card is amazing it runs great and graphically does everything I dreamed it would do, but the coil whine is unbearable and I'll be returning it for another one. I called EVGA and their support is fantastic not foreign and super helpful he recomended running benchmarks for at least 12 hrs because that can reduce it sometimes by burning in the hardware but to no avail. EVGA is fantastic company and I'd always recommend getting their products.

Great Card although some people complain
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This card is very fast and can easily be overclocked. It runs very cool. A lot of people complain that although it says it is 4gb of VRAM, the last .5gb are much slower than the other 3.5gb. If you are playing in 1080p then it will be very difficult to surpass even 3.5gb of VRAM. I guess turning up AA to 8 or 16x might do you in but that is usually not necessary. Besides, if you are trying to max every setting the GTX 970 is not for you. It may not be the best purchase with Pascal right around the corner because it could go on sale. EVGA does have the step up program though so don't worry. You can trade this card in for a newer model within 90 days.

Excellent card, great value.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the card while on sale. Very easy to install. Noticed a sizable performance improvement over my previous card, an EVGA GTX 760.

Great video card
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 970 is the best bang for your buck video card. I went from a GTX 680 to this awesome card.

Great performance on every game I play
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great video card for the games I play that include mostly first person shooters and online multiplayer games. It's easy to install and the power supply in my inexpensive dell xps computer handles the power draw with no problems! Highly recommended.

Avoid this card - get others in the model family
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this card specifically to play GTA V in 1080p at 60fps with much better settings than my old 2x SLi GTX 550 Ti 1GB could handle. Upon installing the card, I had to revert from the auto-installed 350-series drivers which caused constant crashes to the 347-series which ran fine for hours of game playing. The problem came when playing the game with every program shut down: At 1600x900 windowed or 1920x1080 fullscreen there were micro-stutters constantly with all of the settings maxed (which used less than 3.5GB according to the GTA VRAM Usage Bar), and didn't stop until I had cut almost all effects, processing, and textures to bare minimum, using 2GB of the 4GB of VRAM. It was only when I was only using half of the VRAM that I finally got a steady 60 fps - essentially running it with the processing power necessary from the x50 or x60 range of GTX cards. This tells me that either the VRAM in this card is still segmented at 3.5/0.5, or it is worse leaning towards a 2/2 split. Regardless, if VRAM is a consideration, do yourself a favor and get a 4GB 960 or 980 card, both of which do not have the segmented / crippled memory and ROPS design of this GPU series.

Its a GTX 970, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to go SLI with my existing gtx 970 STRIX...could not get it to work in that configuration...it kept telling me to install an SLI bridge which i did but no luck on it getting recognized. Anyway, returned it and got NVIDIA' s Reference model (GTX 970) and everything worked fine after that. I dont know if the EVGA i got was defective or if for some reason wasnt compatible with my current set up. I guess i would recommend it for use as a single GPU, because it is after all a GTX 970.

Still kicking in 2022
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this video card since February 2016. I rebuilt my computer last year and the only thing I have yet to upgrade is my video card, due to the shortages and scalping issues. This video card is still working hard and doing great

be careful!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure if it is the same online as in the store but this card was advertised as something it isn't. It was advertised as the ssc with the acx 2.0 and it had neither. The card itself worked fine but it doesn't have the acx 2.0 and isn't an ssc even though it says it is. Evga says its a best buy exclusive

Excellent entry for the 970 line
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note : I returned these after not being able to do full SLI due to each card only having one DisplayPort per card. That being said, they are excellent cards and run near silent when not under load, and barely audible even when under full load.

Great Graphics Card
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great buy if you are not quite ready to upgrade your computer system. I have been using it for over a month. Got a great deal and also used my birthday coupon. Have not had any problems. It is not as quiet as I thought it would be but I don't have a problem with that. It's quiet enough for me.

Great GPU for a midrange to high end PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this specific model GPU to fit my EK waterblock. It fits nicely in my Custom build PC. Fractal Design Nano S Case. This GPU works great with 10.11.5 OB. I'm running everything stock no OC, no need to on my part as for my daily usage.

Worth Every Penny!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent GPU. It's worth every penny. Did some serious research before purchasing and its on par with some of the most popular GPUs out there and that's before overclocking. Definitely a great purchase and a good value.
