If you're future proofing, wait until the NEXT generation of videocards from nVidia or AMD. But if you want the "best-bang-for-the-buck", a GTX1070 is hard to beat. This card runs EVERYTHING I currently play at max settings. I've gone back and played games my previous GTX680 choked on. The increased resolution and detail was like playing a new game. Also VR-ready if you end up deciding to get the additional components.

A Truly Top-Notch GPU

Hey, everyone.
I bought this GPU to replace my Radeon HD 7970 3GB, which was beginning to become outdated. After reading a lot of reviews and looking at quite a few of the different cards on the market, I decided that I wanted to give NVIDIA a try, after having only used AMD cards before.
After using this for a little while now, I can say that it's the best card I've ever owned; period. I'm able to run games at their maximum settings and maintain 60 frames in almost all scenarios without any issues whatsoever. AND the card can do it all without even breaking a sweat.
Take, for example, Fallout 4. I play this game with a ton of HD and some 4K texture mods and can run a steady 60 FPS for the most part. On occasion I do dip down into the 40's, but that's usually only when flying in a Vertibird, because the GPU is loading everything in all at once from up high. Other than that, I stay at or just below 60!
I have absolutely no complaints about this card whatsoever. I especially love that now I have PhysX as well, which is an amazing addition to my gameplay when I play anything from the Borderlands series. The GeForce Experience application is also quite nice, and NVIDIA's Shadowplay allows me to do something I've never been able to successfully do before; record gameplay!
All in all, I can not be more satisfied with this card than I already am. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new, high-end GPU.

At first I was slightly concerned with this card, as when I plugged it in the fans spun up then stopped. Only after I did some online research do I find that it has Silent Cooling mode that will stop the fans from spinning when not needed. Wiping the sweat of fear of a DOA card away, this thing is a beast, Runs ARK Survival Evolved, and Armored Warfare on multiple screens in High to Ultra graphics.

Pros: Excellent all around card, performs admirably. Cons: throws a lot of heat, doesn't respond well to overclocks. Additionally I wish there was rgb lighting. Another downside might be cost. I spent about $480 with tax in-store because I needed it asap. I would refommend watching for inevitable price drops before purchasing. Still very happy with the performance jump from my MSI gtx 970

With 4K 60fps becoming the new (soon to be) standard in video gaming, the GTX 1070 is an incredible purchase. Even though the GTX 1080 is technically more powerful, the difference is not really enough to justify the $200 premium over the 1070 model. The 1070 can easily handle modern and future games at 1440p, and 2160p (the rest of your system being up to snuff).

Replaced a RX480 with this 1070 and the differences are noticeable in speed and temperatures.
In games where the 480 would get really choppy in 4K, the 1070 pretty much runs them close to 60FPS. Temps are also night and day where the fans would ramp up when watching Youtube videos on the 480, which would read 50C+, the 1070 remains quiet below 40c.

Awesome card , gears of war 4 all settings on ultra looks great !
the but comes with their software/drivers....after installing using the cd it came with, all seemed fine, then the freeze-ups and shutdowns started.
several a day , no matter if the desktop was just there idle or mid game.
No temps were above normal ( they recently released a bios update for temp issues tho) no voltages were out of line, temps were all fine., no amount of bios or driver updates seemed to have any affect. As a last resort I wiped my HDD and reinstalled win10 , just used GFE for drivers and downloaded their OC/monitor program from their site directly and no issues in a week plus now.

Got it for my first pc gaming build. Really researched heavily between this amd 480 and 1060. This card is worth the extra money. Im playing everything on ultra 1080p buttery smooth. And i plan to do 2k and 4k which is why i got this card. If you only want 1080p gaming you dont need this card and others will siffice.

As i'm sure you've all seen the benchmarks not much needs to be said. the aesthetics are a love it or hate it sort of situation. the performance is a great leap forward from last generation and cooling wise it's a monster it runs about 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the 970 had on average.

I've been out of the pc gaming loop for close to a decade (previous Mac user). And I had no idea how far modern graphics had come. I got this to help me edit 4k footage. But as a bonus I'm max settings on games like Doom and picking my jaw up off the floor. Incredible...stunning.

Great video card for the price. Fast, runs cool and quiet. Sure, it's not a 1080, but it's half the price for well over half the performance. Runs everything I throw at it fantastic. If you are gaming at under 4K resolution, the 1070 is the best option for the money.

This is really a great card for the money. It does almost as good as the 1080 version with headroom to overclock (if that's ur thing) I don't overclock. I like the performance I have gotten for the money i have spent and the warranty is really attractive to me.

Solid Card, Great for VR

PROS:
- Able to run most AAA games at 1440P w/ max settings, 4K with mixed settings @ 60FPS
- Is more than able to handle VR. Have had zero issues with this paired with my Rift (it's a bit overkill for VR with current titles)
- Stays cool, even under less than optimal scenarios. I tested this in both a Fractal Design Define R4 (ATX) and a Corsair Air 240 (mATX). Even with only one intake fan in the Air 240, temperatures were never a concern.
CONS:
- Static White LEDs. As far as I can tell, there is no way to turn them off.
OTHER THOUGHTS:
There was a controversy since EVGA apparently did not properly cool the VRMs.
EVGA offered to either send you a DIY thermal mod, or to send your card in to get swapped.
I chose the former, since I have no problem disassembling components.
It is my understanding that all cards being sold now are good to go and properly cooled

Bought this card to upgrade and old one to be able to use my new Oculus. This game runs every Oculus game on max and flawlessly. Along with running almost every other game at max on Steam. Buy it when you can, best $400 card I ever bought.

This card is amazing budget card. For it's cheap price, you get very high performance. As long as your other parts are decent as well, you can basically run any game Ultra 60fps @ 1080p. The 1080 is not worth it for 200 usd more. This card can overclock itself (Thanks to Nvadia GPU Boost 2.0) to around 2000 mhz clock speed compared to the stock speed around 1600 mhz. The 1080 doesn't have enough advantages to pay 200 more. The 1080 TI however is most likely worth it over the 1070, but only if your going over 1080p and want 60fps or above on ultra/max settings on games. Make sure your case has good enough air flow and cooling though, this card can generate a lot of heat.
TLDR: This card is amazing for it's price and can run any game at 1080p ultra 60fps or better as long as the rest of your PC is good. It is not worth it to get the 1080 if your 1080p.
