Customers are pleased with the game's excellent graphics, immersive gameplay, and teamwork aspects. Many also appreciate the action and suspense, though some found the controls challenging and the matchmaking system needed improvement. Something You'll Never Let Go

Ever since playing the big alpha, it's gotten to the point where you just hate the wait of this game's release & now that it's out, I can finally feel at ease. In other case, it's a really fun game, with alot of excitement. When you play as the hunter, you FEEL like a hunter, hunting this 5 story monster to save humanity. And if you play the monster, you feel big & tough, like you can dominate anything in the world of Evolve trying to destroy the humans for disturbing their world. If you're a beginner, You can play solo to get some practice in before you go live for the real experience. Overall, this game is something you will never let go. You play one match, you never want to put the controller down. Even if you have to use the bathroom.

Evolve is not the Evolution of Multiplayer

I remember hearing about this game a few years back and having anticipation about it due to the developers being the same ones who developed Left 4 Dead in 2008. The prior game gave me the best of memories and friends I now communicate regularly with. Yet, my issue about this game is how it did not mirror this. I understand how a 4v4 multiplayer environment (Left 4 Dead) is different from a 4v1 (Evolve), but the feelings of anticipation and want for this new game died out after 20 minutes into my first match.
Visually wise, an A+. This is a next gen game and the display it gives is what is expected. Quality looking environment and characters.
Story wise, F-. I know that we are entering a new age of gaming, but the plot that TRS (Turtle Rock Studios) had given us for this game is lackluster. Any amount of story that exists in Evolve is through repititious gameplay (nothing reallly changes in each playthrough in terms of information/plot) and there is minimal dialog to develop each character in the game.
Gameplay, B-. The concept of the Evolve multiplayer is amazing. I love it, a 4v1, you get to show off your skills with a team or on your own! But very rarely, are you matched with teammates or opponents who understand their role and can produce results. I am taking this point from my own gameplay experience. Even though the game is filled with indepth tutorials for each character/role/monster, people yet to see the team aspect of the game.
Overall B. This is not Left 4 Dead where four survivors attempt to survive in the world they used to call earth. This is Evolve where in each playthrough, you have four out of the total twelve hunters hunt down one of any three monsters on the planet Sheer. It is a different experience for each game. I, myself, over anticipated what the game was going to give me, I wish I hadn't, but I was seeking a quality game, not a sub-par pass time.
Unfortunately I have to lose some of myself when I load this game because I know I will not have a good time, but I do like the gameplay concept, not that the community can follow through, but I am always hoping for that chance for this game where I will have teammates who are cognizant of their role and an opponent who offers a challenge.
If you seek a competitive community, you are forced to search online for them via reddit or their own forums, and this is another thing. A leaderboard exists for each hunter/monster, but no "ranked" mode exists.

I thought it was good. The graphics are nice, match making could be quicker, the content could be better, and it is a bit repetitive after awhile.
Overall, still a good game.

you will play alone as the moster getting hunted or with 3 other hunters against the monster. to me this game can get repetitive. BUT i still keep coming back to it, the controls and shooting are very solid and satisfying and if needed the AI will carry its own weight if enough people dont join a match. is it wroth $60? the answer in my opinion is no. the maps all have to of a familiar feeling to them and the progression system is awful. 2nd and 3rd teir monsters and hunters are not exactly more powerful than the default hunters and monsters so why should we have to use these default characters to unlock other chacters with nothing more than same class slightly different strategy? makes no sense to me. this aint CoD of BF or titanfall so it is a change of pace from those formulas. this has cosmetic dlc which i have no problem with but with the lack of things to do where all you do is play cat and mouse this would ave been better suited as a $40 game wih even more and elaborate cosmetic dlc. ALL FUTURE MAPS TO THIS GAME WILL BE FREE AS STATED BY TURTLE ROCK STUDIOS only skins will have a price tag. this game in all honesty is a toss up. if you are interested then go for it and play this if not your not missing much either.

Evolve is a decent game. You can play as 1 of 4 hunters trying to kill the monster, or you can play as the monster trying to kill the hunters. There are also different games modes so you're not always only trying to kill the monster or hunters. When playing as hunters you need to have team work, where as when youre the monster You're a lone wolf. The game has great graphics, lots of action, and lots of strategy involved in winning. I'd also play the tutorial and the single player a few times before you jump in to the multiplayer.

Evolev isn't your average shooter.
Players must use their wits and teamwork against a monster opponent, and you have to give chase through out the game.
Itse not a game of Braun like most shooters but a game of tactics and brains , meaning you have to adapt to survive.
It doesn't have a campaign mode and features both online and offline play, but online is much more fun.
I enjoy the game but be sure to ask yourself what type of shooter you like before you buy the game. Its not a call of duty or halo, but something different.

This game is really fun and easy enough to get into but once you start doing the online matchmaking it can feel pretty unbalanced for some reason. It feels like when you're the hunter you can never find the monster even if there's 4 of you and when you're the monster you feel like hunters find you instantly no matter how much you crouch, sneak or run away. Then again, maybe I'm just terrible at this game and you won't be. Still lots of hours of fun without being too repetitive.

It's a brilliant concept, but I found it a bit frustrating. The monsters are fun, but the heroes are fairly hard to kill, which makes battling them a little tedious for my tastes. I'd suggest playing through the tutorials before you buy it, through a rental or a friend's copy. If you don't mind the pace, then you'll like the game a lot. If you think it drags at the final tutorial, you'll probably get bored with it quickly.

I haven't played the game much but I know from playing it for a couple hours that after some playing time, the game can be repetitive due to the lack of variety. Don't get me wrong, it's fun but I don't think it's worth $60. I got on sale so that's why i got it. I like the idea of the game and the teamwork required to do well if you are the Hunters. Overall, worth the purchase if it's $40 or less.

Even though the game is indeed 4v1(Not counting Daisy/Ruva), this game is fun for everyone who is playing it. With a very different theme and overall feel to the game, it makes it fun to explore and even more fun to kill. Where literally anything in this game could pop up and kill you, the level of tactical thought and exploration needed in this game is fun even when not playing with your friends. Though some of the monsters in this game are a bit overpowered with lower leveled characters (ex: Val vs Wraith) and the game does nothing to make sure this doesn't happen every game. A better placement of equal levels would make the game much more fun for everyone who plays it. And please, for the sake of everyone who doesn't look at the ground always, (which is pretty much 90% of players) make a way for us to get out of hidden wildlife traps such as a megamouth. And make them a bit easier to kill since no one likes that burden of wasting 2-5 minutes of fighting something that's not the intended goal. I get it makes being the monster a lot easier but please, just a strand easier. Overall, I love this game and the new placement of how to defeat your enemies. Working as a team is a great idea and helps generate a new way to play the game which isn't what gamers do often anymore.

I bought this game to play co op with my father and this game failed to disappoint. I think this is one of the best co op experiences out there today. The game mechanics are unique and very fun. However this game requires you to out smart the monster which does require you to think through your team strategy as opposed to mindlessly shooting things. I love the slow paced/team based elements that are just not found in any other game of this caliber.
Overall this game is probably my favorite game so far in 2015!

Needs better servers. Would've liked a co op. Any kind would've worked. Hense the 4 stars but besides that. Overall good game. Smooth fps that urge to take the monster down as a team. Or be a bad butt and mess everybody as the beast. All Fun

I think the game really excels at Teamwork. The graphics are very good and the story-line while almost non existent is still pleasing. The ability to place both sides hero and villain is very intriguing and makes for some great game play.

Evolve is an ambitious game. The lopsided 4 on 1 multiplayer is an idea that I applaud Turtle Rock studios for attempting, but often, it just makes for lopsided games. In order for the Hunters to win, communication is almost always required. This is fine if you're playing with friends; however, when going on your own with a bunch of randoms, people rarely communicate, which is frustrating. Additionally, the matchmaking itself can take over 5 minutes to get you into a match, which will often not even be full with 5 players. Not all is bad, however. The game looks and feels great. I'd love to try out a future sequel if improvements can be made.

Great graphics, cool concept, teamwork is a must in order to survive against the monster. 4 on 1 matches are a blast to play. Game AI seems a little too smart, much better experience when not matched against bots.

Evolve is a fun game. Though from the makers of my all time favourite multiplayer game Left 4 Dead, I had much higher expectations. Something feels like it's missing, don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun but it gets a little repetitive. Sounds strange coming from a huge L4D fan. I guess L4D had more dynamic. But if you did enjoy L4D I definitely recommend evolve. At least give it a shot and ignore all of the dlc bashing. It's mostly skins that don't do anything other than cosmetics. Although to unlock new characters is kind of time consuming but you have fun doing it. Worth a try!

I really fell in love with this game, played it since the beta came out. What made me give it 3 stars was the bad servers, this game relies heavily on team work and i normally play with both my brothers. BUT when your in a party of 3 it takes for ever to find a match and thats if your lucky. Most the time it will just break your party up and put you in separate games.
