So I picked up my ordered copy today. Got home opened my packages and found the metal case was bent and would not close and the plastic case with the game was broken in multiple areas.

Alright, this game, for the price, is NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. If this game is on sale, and you have friends willing to jump in with you, I say go for it. In it's current state, this game is a pretty bad mess. However, don't misconstrued that. It is nowhere near as bad as the hive mind want you to think it is. This game is pretty much online Fallout 4. That's all it is. If you liked Fallout 4, you will more than likely enjoy this, as it is almost the exact same game, just without NPC's.
Sadly, this game also has the same problems Fallout 4 did on Xbox. Frame rate and performance is really bad right now. The game chugs and and freezes during ANY sort of combat. I would assume this is due to the fact that it is the exact same engine that FO4 uses, which had awful issues on console, and even on high end gaming PC's.
So then, you may be asking "Why is this a positive review?". It is ONLY due to the fact that Bethesda actually seem to be wanting to fix this game. With FO4 and other games, due to them being single player, Bethesda can just throw them onto their platforms and only really have to update it if there is some kinda game breaking bug. With 76, they actually have to work on the game, due to it relying on their own servers. They have already been updating the game since launch a few weeks back, and have already outlined future plans and updates. Now this isn't taking their other business decisions (like the whole collectors edition bag thing) but I am leaving a semi positive review in good faith, hoping they actually start to fix it.
BUT PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT AT FULL PRICE. In it's current state, it is not worth the money AT ALL. The game went on sale for Black Friday (a week after the game went on sale) so I bet this game will be on sale quite a bit.
Please Bethesda. Please fix this game, I am trying so hard to like it. I am begging.

Ok what to say. Fallout on its own one of the best Game Franchises period. 76 is a great start to what might be but it does fall short. The game it self I do enjoy playing but with many bugs and things being corrected it grinds on you. I would recommend this game with the above warning, because I feel it has great potential.

I really wanted to love this game. I have enjoyed the series from the beginning but this one is just not up to par. I know they are working on fixing it but that doesn't make me feel any better about the $80 I spent on the Tricentennial Edition.
Playing on the Xbox One… It is a beautiful game, when I can stay connected. I get booted several times an evening even with a great internet connection (250/50) and no problems with my other systems.
You spend an inordinate amount of time trying to stay fed and watered so your stats don’t keep dropping. Which is made even more difficult by the fact that you need to grab just about everything that isn’t nailed down so that you have materials to build your camp and upgrade your weapons and armor.
When you exceed the weight limit you can carry (always), your ability to move is continually hampered and slowed while you stop to rest (apparently from dragging your huge load of junk behind you) only to find out that when you do make it back to camp that they have extremely limited the amount you can stash (put in storage)
Between connectivity issues, lack of story outside of terminals and in game reading material, minimal interaction with my fellow Waste-Landers and just the overall unenjoyable experience I would have a hard time recommending this to anyone. I hope Bethesda listens and actually makes this game something to be proud of because it right now it’s more of a black eye than anything they have ever produced.
I gave it two stars because it is very good looking when it works and the creatures and sites that you interact with had a lot of time and thought put into them. From a glowing Wendigo, the infection of the Scorched, it seems like they were trying, maybe there is still hope but you might want to wait on this one, even for nostalgias sake.

Overall, this game delivers what you expect from a Fallout game: excellent graphics, sharp gameplay, a bit of understated humor, and mutant blasting while you listen to the Andrews Sisters. My biggest complaint, though, is that there is practically no story and not enough people playing to make the MMO element worthwhile. So, it ends up being a really meager experience.
Still, if you like foraging, crafting, and house-building (as I do) you will likely still have a pretty good time with it.

This to me is a nice change of pace to the series. but its not like other fallout games. Very fun if you have friends to do quests and games. Hopefully they would add to it as it goes on to add more stuff. It can be buggy at times as well.

Fallout games have typically had their issues with glitches, especially early on, but this game is just full of them. The basic concept of the game is good and the game is fun to play. There are a lot of things they need to do to improve the game before I can give it a better rating though. Patches are coming out regularly so we will see going forward. Still recommend the game though as they will likely fix a lot as time goes on.

I like this game. It's been getting slammed (rightfully so in some aspects) but I'm having a lot of fun exploring a world I love with friends and even alone. It's more fun with friends. I haven't had many issues with it technically outside of some graphics here and there and the odd being kicked off a server. You may want to wait to get it until they iron EVERYthing out. There's no where to go but up though. If they listen to all the whining and fix everything, this could be a great game.

So far I am enjoying the game except for all the glitches.... they should have them fixed soon I hope. Outside of that the game is really fun and j really enjoy being able to team up for quests.

The gameplay is good but I wish online play was better. Game declined in price rapidly but I would still buy it if a fallout fan and the bonuses given my B.B. helped

Fallout 76 is a great game and keeps evolving as you play. Some glitches are encountered because of the “live” feature but the company keeps updating to fix them.

Fallout 76 has a lot of potential and I am hoping that it will run a similar (but hopefully more rapid) course as No Man's Sky. While a little disappointing at release I think a large portion of that is due to people wanting it to be Fallout 4 Online, which I fully believe Bethesda will someday accomplish. If you can appreciate the game for what it is and not for what it is not its actually pretty good, having to search for the story is a new experience and may not be for everyone but a lot of what makes Fallout great is still there. I think in a few months after the bigger and more annoying bugs are worked out the game will be much better.

Love this game. It's not like other Fallouts, but it's also not bad like everyone is saying. This game is basically Fallout 4 multiplayer. I have put a lot of hours in this game and have not encountered people that try to kill me. People have been helpful. Exploring the area is fun and moving camp around changes things up. It's different but good.

I am huge fan of the Fallout series but this is a game is a true disappointment. The game glitches constantly and servers are crashing. When you load back in you are nowhere near where you were. I have been killed numerous times by nothing. There is no interaction with any NPC. It is also hard to group with people when there are about 10 people on the server spread out for miles.
I would just replay one of the old games vs playing this one.

Fun game that can be frustrating at times. The game is in a huge world that allows for more fun destinations but can also be a little boring going from place to place. This is an online game so some of the frustrations come from the games servers and how often they drop. Plenty of quest lines and things to do so if you can deal with a small stash and carry limit you should be fine.

I've been playing Fallout since Fallout 3 came out. While this is similar to the original games, the online experience leaves much to be desired. At low level, you're able to explore the map, but cannot enter certain areas without being bombarded by enemies and dying incredibly fast. Higher levels still have the same issue, more so when a nuke has gone off in that area. Servers are down every once in a while and I've been disconnected multiple times in sessions. Quests a buggy and some I was not even able to complete. Open world, online games encounter problems, sure; but this is a Fallout I could have lived without.

I understand what bethesda was going for, but the bugs were a major problem within the game. Mostly because they half assed it and rather than fix it while the beta was out, they decided it was a good idea to ship out a half finished game without checking if it was properly programmed. The game play itself is okay and has a mixture of the sims with an apocalyptic feel because of how building a house is a necessity and finding clothing. I would not recommend unless it's on sale.

Fallout 76 is more of an open world with multiple online players in the same environment. I prefer the single player format of Fallout 4 more. If you like open world multi-player, you would like this game. There is only one difficulty level, unlike Fallout 4. Scavenged items seem to be a bit more sparse in this version. That said, the graphics are much better than Fallout 4, and some of the in game features added are nice, but overall, I like Fallout 4 better.
