Bought it at discount (actual DVD, not the downloadable version). Taking a ½ star off because you cannot save when you want. A game should give you the alternative to either play with auto saves (some would call this the “macho” way—some would say masochist) or allow the option of anytime saves by the player. There’s limited saving you can do but, if you leave the game and come back later, you find yourself at one of the safe houses and not where you actually did your save. Taking ½ star off because the menu interaction is, to say the least, somewhat convoluted. Taking another ½ star off because of the way you need to get animal skins to craft into something to allow you to carry some or more stuff. It is not that you have to do it, it is the fact that all options are not presented in the menu but are added as you craft stuff. Let’s say you need 2 skins of a certain animal to craft a holster/pouch but then there’s a rugged holster/pouch for which you need more skins. Let’s say that you get skins to do the rugged holster/pouch and you think that you now do not need more skins of that animal. Surprise, you will see that the menu now shows that you could do a super-rugged holster/pouch. But, wait, you had those extra skins. Oh no, you had sold them so now you have to go hunting for that animal again. Taking still another ½ star off because there’s really no interaction with the misc characters you find around (as in, say, FALLOUT3). Except for that, the game has so far played great. For me, the strategy here is to get done with the hunting for skins so you are prepared to carry a lot and then start your quests. The looks of this virtual world and the ability to move all over makes it a game worth your while. It is good to be able to go at it either rambo or stealth style. With time, some things will seem repetitious but that happens in every game. Don’t let my 3 star rating make you skip this game. For under $20, it is a bargain.

In the series of "Farcry", we witness a great foundation blossoming into one of the most enjoyable games of our times...Farcry 3. The open world concept is a must to true gamers alike. Every effort to make this game seem as real as possible with all the minor details to the jaw dropping effects has hit its mark and then some. Your character can swim to the depths avoiding sharks in the search for treasure or climb mountains trying to sneak by large dangerous kitty cats(watch out ,they bite)! Many vehicles to choose from to get you to point A and back again. The plot of saving your friends that haven't fell victim to the thugs is your motivation to trudge on to victory. Hats off on this title!

Great new location and story. Alot of new choices, jet ski, swimming with the sharks. Different paths have different obstacles, etc.

Exceptional graphics, good story line. Lots of running, diving, shooting, driving, and flying. Big world to explore. This is a must have for those who like to shoot stuff up.

So far a great game wonderful graphics on the crytek 3 engine. There is however a lot of buttons to remember on the gampad , this will take awhile to remember everything..

So this game is just freaking awesome! The story, gameplay and graphics are all great. Buy it for yourself or as a gift. People will be happy. I played through it twice and bought two people this for their birthdays. Love it!

Very fun, great graphics and very good story. The best of the series by far.

This is a fun addition to the far cry series and makes some improvements on far cry 2. I actually prefer the play style of 2 without fast travel, but I suspect that I am in the minority.

I purchased this game online thinking it was a great deal at under $10. When the game arrived, I eagerly unwrapped the package and installed the game. This game uses uplay to run the game, but since I've used it before I figured it wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, when I tried to start the game, it asked me for an activation code, which had not been sent with the game. I have tried calling Best Buy technical support many times and if I ever got through to the right dept. I'm sure could help. Every time I call, I get shuffled around from department to department until they finally lose my connection. This is incredibly frustrating and I'm sure the game is great; but I've been burned by Best Buy technical support so many times I don't know why I continue to shop there. Enjoy the game if you can, but buy it somewhere else!!!

The game is tons of fun, you play how you want, and you can go wherever you want. Great game.

Had played the series on other consoles and this version was just as much fun.

If you liked the other farcry games, you will like this one as well. Very fun.

It is great fun to immerse oneself into this game and explore the fascinating and exotic island locale.

I recommend that you play this game in the dark with loud speakers

Needs a really nice computer to run properly. I have an AMD radeon HD 7450 card and it barely plays . I have to turn down the system performance to play at all.

this far cry 3 for windows is great beacuse it is fun and challenging and great fun

It's a fps game with some rpg elements. Was pretty fun to play.
