Far Cry 4 doesn't have the best story in the Far Cry series [although it's still very good] but the action, gameplay, and the open-world of Kyrat are incredible.

This game is all about exploring for me. The map is massive and looks great. Multiplayer is a lot of fun and the story is unique. the only think I would like different is it to be a bit more challenging and the story to be a bit longer and a bit more in depth.

I have to admit I was skeptical before buying this game as I had read a lot of negative reviews but I honestly enjoyed it. It's definitely a game you can go back and play again and there's always a way to change the story line with your decisions. I don't have anything bad to say about the game except I wish it had a better diversity of side quests. Overall a great buy and I would recommend to anyone who likes open world/adventure games.

I stepped away from the Far Cry games after the second but came back for this one and I am glad I did. The story is compelling enough to make you want to play just to see what happens next; the fire-fights are fun and the use of the environment (don't want to give much away) is very innovative. I am glad I picked this one up and recommend it without hesitation.

If you enjoyed Far Cry 3, there's no reason you won't enjoy Far Cry 4, which offers a number of improvements to some of the core elements of 3, namely the ability to reset outposts, a sense of verticality with both gyrocopter and mountain climbing, turning off skinning animations, etc. Sadly, many of the flaws that dragged Far Cry 3 down are still present as well. The narrative is still brain dead dumb. Troy Baker's villain is a Joker wanna be that never was, and he's practically non-existent through most of the game. Fast Travel exists almost solely at cleared outposts, making back-tracking around Kyrat a necessity, and the easiest way to get around (via gyrocopter) isn't as readily available as the numerous four-wheel vehicles. There are a lot of collectibles, which don't seem to have much purpose other than filling space in the map, and while they aren't too egregious in limited numbers, sadly that isn't the case here. The inability to save anywhere is unfortunate, as an untimely demise can often set you back five minutes, forcing you to painfully retrace your steps back to the area you had just reached. And if you die again... deja vu. The ability to fast travel anywhere would have fixed that, but it doesn't exist. Also, as great as the ability to scale certain objects with the mountain climbing tool is, I found those instances to be too scaled back considering all there vertical areas in the game. Navigating certain areas of Kyrat is a pain. Still, there's a lot more good than bad, so if you're a fan (or this is your first foray into the crazy world of Far Cry), jump in.

Though it's not an incredibly far (ha) departure from Far Cry 3, FC4 is a very well-refined, interesting, and addictive game. The gunplay is fast and exciting, the exploration is top notch (wingsuit is awesome!), and I personally find the story captivating. If you're looking for open world gunplay thrills, it's hard to do better than this.

Never got into the series, mainly because I think it was on PC early on. Decided to try this one out because of early reviews. Glad I did because it is wild and crazy and I love it. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's a mashup of Tomb Raider, Call of Duty, and Assassin's Creed, all in first person. Story is decent, but the action is where it's strength is. Lots of fun and a good variety in missions.

Best PS4 game I've played so far!

My first Far Cry experience. So tired of the linear campaigns in games like COD and Battlefield. Far Cry has the most open campaign of any game I've played. Sometimes I'll open it up, go on a hunt, or play the next mission, or just mark a waypoint on the map and see what pops up along the way. Many interesting and diverse ways to navigate the world as well - truck, atv, hanglider, helicopter, and elephants! Unlockables and hidden locations are everywhere on the map and every one opens up new things to do. It's just like my son's Lego Marvel Super Heroes game in that respect, but this one isn't for small kids. Cut scenes are well done and not overly long (I hate that). Save points at any point of the game (as long as you aren't on a mission) means I don't have to block out hours at a time to play this game. I can come in for 20 minutes if I want and take an outpost or a bell tower, or hunt a tiger! Visiting others' maps on multiplayer is alot of fun too, but PvP so far doesn't live up to the other games I've mentioned here. Bigger engagements than 5 vs 5 capture the flag type games are needed, and deathmatch or larger team games would be really cool. Awesome game!

I think this game is better that grand theft auto and call of duty combined. The shooting and missions are just the right amount of challaging. You get to have an extensive amount of weapons to choose from couple missions into the came if u spend your time to collect the money and the graphics look superb really love the game.

I was able to get this game when it was on sale for $19.99. Believe me it is more then worth it! The story could be a little bit better but the gameplay is tight and smooth. Graphics are gorgeous in full 1080p. You get a nice open world environment along with some pretty impactful weapons. Go! Get it and enjoy it!

Haven't used my PS4 for more than 6 months (since infamous second son) due to lack of games. I bought this game bc of the bad reviews of AC:U and ended up buying Far Cry 4. Best decision ever! Finished the game las weekend, played over 20 hours, very fun, nice shooter, ok story and lots of fun stuff to do in the map

I only played Far Cry 3 for a little and was very excited when I heard Fry Cry 4 was coming to the PS4. Graphics are amazing and you will find yourself doing more side missions than main campaign missions. Or just running around Kyrat doing whatever comes to mind. If you like open world games you will love this one.

i really enjoyed this game so far, there is so much to explore and do within the world. You can go Hunting for animals, use there skins to make things, collect their meat to attract predators to cause kaos. you make your own destiny. cant imagine what Far Cry 5 is going to be like after this game

Loved this game! The ability to do virtually anything from make life changing decisions on who you spare to live, or simply ride around on an elephant smashing into vehicles. They story is yours to control and the gameplay is easy to pickup while still staying a bit of a challenge.

Get this game - on PS4 it looks amazing how much you can go to and visit when you're flying around in the helicopter just figuring out whether you want to hunt, take down an enemy outpost, search for treasure, or just mess around with a buddy all over the mountains. Really fun game.

This game does just about everything right except tell a deeply riveting story. The world is huge, full of places to explore, it looks great, and the weapons work really well. It's basically a continuation a far cry three, though set in a world that I find more compelling. It's definitely the best thing I've played on the PS four.

I would breakdown my 25 hours with Far Cry 4 as 5 hours of story and 20 hours of mindless tasks. A lot of fluff, little substance. What I liked most about FC4 is the open world set in an India-like location. The gameplay is also good. A lot like other triple A first-person shooters. The environment has a downside though. It is mostly the same. Patches of forests, fields, and hills. A couple of times the game warps you to a snowcapped mountain. A bulk of this game is securing tours (much like the Assassin's Creed games) and looting random crates. It gets old and tedious real quick. The story (when there is a story) is kind of interesting, but once you're done you'll be disappointed. I don't recommend Far Cry 4 although it is not a terrible game. The tedious actions that take up most of the game really isn't worth the time and effort. There are better games on the market.
