Dynasty Warriors with Type Moon characters

I knew the franchise when I first saw the game, but I didn't know what to expect out of the game. I found out from a trailer that it was a Dynasty Warriors style game, and I went with it. It's pretty fun, there's plenty to do, and the concept is pretty straightforward. This is the only Warriors style game I've played besides Hyrule Warriors, so I don't know how it measures up, but it's fun by it's own merits.

This game is so much fun. I got this because I was a fan of anime even though I never got into this perpendicular show, I was really glad I bought this. It turned out to be a great game. I like the fact that it is in Japanese even though at some parts the English subs are not included. It was my first hack and slash game I have ever played and unlike some reviews who have said that the game gets repetitive after a while, it was the opposite to me. The more I played, the better I became, and the more fun I had.

I purchase this and it's sequel cause I play nearly every WARRIORS-like title. This just happens to be based around one of my favorite Animes. The story is polished, the gameplay as well. Plenty of content here to be had for your money.

    Fun Action Game for Switch

While not as graphically impressive as the PS4 version, Fate Extella on Switch still looks really good and plays well for a musou style game. Lots of text, so be forewarned if that's not your thing.

I really like the characters and battles you get in this game. If found myself not knowing the anime the game is based on intriguing. The characters are very fun and unique. I found the game challenging and a blast to play. If you like hack and slash games I highly recommend this one.

Decent musou game for the Switch

I'll cut straight to the point and say if you love musou games (games where you fight hordes of enemies such as Fire Emblem Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, and the countless other "Warriors" titles) AND anime, you're probably going to really enjoy this game. If you are a casual fan of musou games, like myself, you'll enjoy it too, just realize it doesn't feel quite as refined as a "Warriors" franchise game. The action/fighting is good, and the controls are pretty tight. I did find myself getting a little turned around in stages as they are pretty monotone in appearance. There's also the story element...be prepared to go through a LOT of text. This leads to interactions with the characters that walk the line of a dating sim at times. If you can get it cheap (use that GCU before it goes away!) I'd recommend it as a decent time waster.

I don't have much history with this franchise so i may be missing out on some of the backstory and character history, but it was enjoyable enough. Anime-style musuo game. The action is pretty fast-paced, but the dialogue is cringe-inducing. Not a terrible way to waste time, but there are better options.

After watching the anime, I figured I would give the game a try. While it's quite different from the anime (it takes place after a Holy Grail War, not during), it's still very fun. It's a little more risque than I was anticipating (so you probably shouldn't let the kiddos play it), but the gameplay and story are still really well done.

Not a very long story mode has very little to do with fate stay night (at least what I'm familiar with), quite a few things to unlock. has quite a few cutscenes that drag on, but that can be remedied in the setup by making the text spawn instantly (or pressing the "+" button twice to skip the scene). that said still pretty fun for a sand boxed hack and slash. It however gets repetitive, and the camera is kind of hard to control (im new to the switch though). I would give it three and a half stars if I could. the game does its job it's meant for dynasty warriors fans and fate stay/night fans

This game is half Hack&Slash, half visual novel. It's a fun time waster especially if you've followed the fate story line from the beginning but it does get repetitive. The loss of star was from bad voice acting.

Fast pace action game, great on the go. There is a lot of text to read so prepare for that. Other than that when you are playing gives you a great sense of accomplishment when you take down hundreds of enemies.

This is a game where you take down zones separated into almost like giant rooms, where you must eliminate so many enemies to make bigger enemies come out. When you defeat enough of those bigger enemies, you capture that zone. Enough zones and the boss comes out....this is space age anime wacky outfits and just convoluted storyline of nonsense. That being said, this game is fun to play, the mechanics are solid and I keep playing because it is fun. The sequel just came out so this one is lower priced, as also it is an older game. Pick it up if you want to see what Fate/Extella is all about but aren't sure about dropping $60 on the new one (Fate/Extella link)

I love the anime series. Watched the OVA. Never checked out the manga... that said, this game is veeeery difficult to follow story wise. It expects you to know some secret storyline i think. Not sure. Slightly hard to recommend.

I like these kind of games. I was thinking about getting this on PS4, but I heard this version of the game comes with all the DLC. Since I didn't want to spend money on DLC, I decided to get this version. It may not be 60fps, but the game still runs rather smoothly at 30fps. And it still looks great on the Switch. If you like this kind of gameplay, Fate/Extella is a good game to have on the Nintendo Switch. It's really nice being able to play this on a television and then on the Switch's handheld screen.

One good thing about the switch is you get access to hidden gems, such as this one, that I normally would be able to play! Story is great, game is awesome!
