Just get it and watch it. The writing and Acting are as good as it gets. While Denzel Washington is Great, Viola Davis is Beyond Category. Her performance in this Movie and in Doubt, are TWO modern day Classic performances of the last 25 years. Viols Davis is right there at the Top.

The cast is already a plus. Denzel and Viola are amazing and have great chemistry. The passion in there performances are strong and powerful. There are moments that are sometimes hard to deal with but not in unbearable way just tough situations. But masterful work none the less.

Fences was a excellent movie. Denzel Washington and Viola Davis did a great job. The Movie showed love and hate. A family movie which can be viewed by the entire family, it is also educational. So get ready for a little bit of laughter fun and education on a must see Movie today.

The film was long awaited and it was very well worth the wait. Denzel Washington and Viola Davis rendered stunning performances along with the other talented actors. After seeing this film, I truly wish more of August Wilson's astounding works would be converted over to film.

I hadn't seen this film at the theater, but I bought the blu ray for 2 reasons - Denzel and Viola. Acting doesn't get any better, and they certainly didn't disappoint. This is a great drama and you care about the characters. I highly recommend if you like drama.

Just another great movie for the cast. It was not what you have come to expect. There are turns. The characters are real and the time period is right on point. I lived it. The story line will make you cry and then say I went thought the same thing. Great movie.

I love Denzel movies and this one didn't let me down. I saw it in the movies and brought it as soon as it came out on dvd. It was a powerful performances all around. With a twist that shocked me but I should have saw it coming. Hope you love it as much as I did.

I first saw Fences as a play. It was well done as a play and it is well done as a movie. D. Washington is one of my favorite actors. He was great in Fences the play and he is great in the movie. Characterization was well demonstrated. Another must see movie!!!

Moving performances by Denzel and Viola!! No disrespect but Moonlight wasn't even close! Denzel was robbed of the Best Actor academy award this year. It's the kind of movie that makes you think deeply about it long after it's over. I didn't want it to end.

Very powerful and gripping drama Denzel at his finest! Good moral messages here. Even move across "Fences" of race culture and generations to bring us a entertaining but meaningful film.

This is such a great movie, the story is so real! A lot of people can relate to this film, it is also a great adaptation of the screenplay. Denzel Washington and Viola Davis were the best actors that could have been chosen for this film!

What can be said about this film besides the obvious. It's great cast all perform magnificently. The film based on a play, at times feels as if the actors are performing their dialogue on stage. Denzel and Viola are great together, and the heartbreak each one goes through is evident in their performance. This is as must have Blu Ray to any serious collector.

This movie was riveting. It showed the strength of a strong woman standing by her husband through his faults and flaws. It show a man being a good provider for his family yet stuck somewhat in the past. Excellent performances by all actors and actresses.

I absolutely love this movie! It's a testament to the love of family, human error, and personal growth. It's been a long time for me that I rooted for a character and disliked that person at the same time. This movie is one of my all time favorites.

This is a great movie with two of the best actors. The pairing of these two was a great combination making the movie so enjoyable to watch. It makes you hit on a lot of emotions while watching these two interact with each other on the screen

This movie was Awesome!! It was well written and spoke to life back then, from how women were subservient to their husbands to the development of men and how they thought.. I loved, loved l, lovedo this movie.. it reminded me of my past

It is my wife who spends our hard earned money buying DVDs instead of renting, but this is a good one. Of course Denzel Washington is superb, but so are ALL the supporting cast. Deserved the Academy Awards nominated and/or received.

meh for a denzel movie I expected more.. I found myself bored at parts.

In my mind Fences is a Best Picture. Denzel Washington Should have won Best Actor at the Oscars as he was amazing with his performance. Congrats to Viola Davis for winning best supporting actress ... she is simply Great at acting!
