I bought this instrument to play a few song for students at my school. I would recommend this product especially for beginning musicians. The package also included a tuner, stand, patch cable, gig bag, picks, and mini practice amp.

A little bit about myself...
I am 20 years old. I started playing the acoustic guitar when I was about 7 years old and have been playing guitar ever since. I also play piano and sing from the age of 5, so my musical background is pretty solid.
Lately, I enjoy listening to the blues rock genre and fell in love with John Mayer's style of playing the electric guitar, more accurately, the Fender Stratocaster in his 'Continuum' album. While searching on the internet for a good starter Strat, I found this bundle at Guitar Center and was happy when I found the same bundle at Best Buy. Seeing as I had points accumulated on my account, I purchased it from Best Buy to take advantage of the Reward Zone program.
The first thing I did with this guitar was change the strings to a more expensive set than the ones it comes with. After about a month and a half of playing the guitar every chance I got, I grew impatient with it. It seemed that I was forced to re-tune the guitar every 2-3 minutes of playing. I'm very picky when it comes to music. I searched everywhere to find out what my problem was and found out that some Stratocasters have this problem, at first, at least. I stretched the strings, played without the wammy bar, etc., but I couldn't get it to stay in tune, especially the G string. I returned it after a month and a half from the purchase date and am currently looking for a Fender Telecaster, but in the more expensive $300-$500 'Made in USA' range at Guitar Center.
As for this bundle and its individual components...
The guitar:
The strings provided must be replaced.
The tuning heads are of the lowest quality possible and, if not replaced, must at least be tightened before use.
The guitar feels solid, otherwise, and seems as if it can withstand harsh treatment.
The amp:
Let's face it, it's the cheapest amp you could possibly have, but it's good enough for a beginner. It has an overdrive effect option for those who are more aggressive.
The electronic tuner:
It gets the job done within acceptable boundaries.
Bottom line...
If you or your intended gift receiver is a beginner with none to little experience with a guitar, I recommend this bundle to start out with. As I have told my friends who are interested in learning to play the guitar, "You don't want to spend more than $100-$200 on your first guitar just to find out guitar playing isn't for you. Then you end up with a very expensive wall decoration."
At 7 years of age, my first guitar was a cheap $40 Mexican guitar from the flea-market. When my parents saw that I was progressing and had some talent, they purchased an $800 Fender acoustic/electric (Made in South Korea) which I still have to this day.

My kid has taken guitar lessons and plays the acoustic guitar. When he expressed interest in learning to play an electric guitar. So I started looking. I was surprised to find this well made, quality guitar starter pack at Besy Buy in this exciting startburst color and it came with everything you need, the amp, a DVD, the cords, a pick, a tuner and the best part this pack has a guitar strap AND a sturdy gig bag. All for a reasonable price. And this was on sale I've seen the same guitar for twice the price I paid so I am very happy with my purchase!!

I decided to learn to play electric guitar and purchased this package because it contains all the accessories you would need without having to buy them all separately, which would cost you more that way. It has an amplifier, cable, electronic tuner, stand, gig bag, strap, picks, and DVD. It is a Fender product. I'm very satisfied with the quality of everything.

I purchase Rocksmith 2014 and needed a guitar to play/learn with. I was looking at the epiphone les paul, but I found a great deal at Best Buy for this Squier package. The web price was reduced to 159 and a store near me had one. I went to the store and the instore price was 134, plus I had my $5 rewards cert. Have to say it was a good outing that day for fulfilling my wishlist.

The price for the package is a great deal. The amp puts out enough sound for practicing alone for sure. The guitar holds its tune well and puts out very good tone! When the amp is in distortion mode you can hear background noise even when you are not playing guitar. Overall great bang for the buck!

Purchased as a Christmas present for grandson. He is just beginning to play, but his instructor says we got a good instrument for the price and he himself started with a very similar instrument. He also said it should last a considerable time....His did.
So far there have only been positive remarks about the purchase.

For a beginner, easy to use, strings are low on the fret for ease of play, great guitar to hook up with rocksmith and the Xbox 360.

Great Little Axe With A Good, Thick Strat Tone

I've had a few Squires throughout the years, and this one certainly maintains the positive opinion I have about them. Action is pretty good out of the box, but a few minor adjustments make a huge difference. Still playing with the stock strings, which sound ok. I'm looking forward to throwing some premium strings on there. That thick, "bluesy pop" tone is definitely there on one end of the switch, and that thinner, rockier tone is there on the other. The pickups are pretty hot for a budget guitar. The tone and volume knobs respond well. Gears seem solid; holds tune well. The finish is beautiful. Adds to the character of a room when sitting on its stand. All in all, a great little practice Strat for quickly recording ideas at home.

I got this guitar so I could practice quieter with it as apposed to my acoustic. Turns out that its easier to play than acoustic. (I'm still a beginner, so I'm just now learning all this stuff)
But for the price, you get a good set to introduce you to electric guitar.

For the money, this guitar looks and plays great. Tuning is a little tricky, but it comes with a halfway decent tuner to help you along at first. My suggestion, though, would be to pick up a better one at your earliest convenience. The guitar plays really well, and sounds pretty decent through the little amp that's included. If you should hear any buzzing, though, the recommendation is that you take it to your nearest Guitar Center or music store and have a professional look it over. It might need a little bit of adjustment. Other than that, it's worth it if you're just starting out.
