I watch this movie whenever I catch it on television. I always enjoy it. Now I have it in my collection and can see it whenever I want.

Fiddler has always been one of my favorite musicals. The cast does an outstanding job! Family relationships and religious persecution are the main topics handled in this film.

If you enjoy older musicals, this is a really good one!

Purchased the video before taking my wife to see the off broadway musical so she could better understand live performance. She enjoyed many belly laughs from video

Brings back to mind the times when musicals had great story lines and excellent tunes to boot. The acting was superb. Topol deserved his Oscar!

What's not to say about this classic movie. Finally own on Blu-ray and Quality is great. This is just own for any musical theater lover out there.

I was hoping this blu-ray would be as good as The Sound of Music, but it's not so. It's not a big deal because Fiddler's blu-ray video and audio is still excellent. The video quality is very impressive - sharp, tons of detail, good color. Bright day scenes really stand out as expected. While darker and/or night scenes get a tiny bit grainy (which is perfectly fine if you like grain). The video is pretty clean and spotless expect for right after the intermission scenes when some black ovals pop up on the screen (it's so quick, it's not really an issue, but they do show up). During some of the overcast day scenes with the sky in the background, there is a slight wavy effect that ripples across the sky (once again, it's barely noticable, but it's there). The 7.1 DTS-HD audio rocks for a 1971 film - totally satisfied with the work they did on the audio - clear and active. The volume does increase a bit whenever someone starts singing.

Another great classic musical. Thrilled to see this one

This movie has been a staple in my family for many many years now. I watched it when I was younger, and my kids watched it when they were younger, and they each have added a copy to their movie collection as they began their own. Getting it on Bluray is the natural progression for keeping this an active part of my movie library. Not sure if there is any actual benefit for image quality going bluray, but did it more so that it didn't get lost in my collection by still being stuck on DVD, as tv's get bigger and pixel count gets higher, even old movies need the upgrade to stay technologically viable.

A must see for all ages! What a piece of work! A real masterpiece

A must for any fan of "Musicals" This just happens to be my favorite musical of all time. On the surface it would appear to be a simple story, but it isn't. Many different and complex stories within the main one of a family in a sleepy little Jewish community just prior to, and partially into a war. This move includes one of my favorite and timeless songs of all time, "Sunrise, Sunset."

I just turned 30 and I've loved this movie since I was 7, watching with my grandparents. Tells the story of a Jewish family living under Imperialist Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. I still own the 2 VHS tapes it came on before the advent of DVD (followed by bluray). The music really shapes the story (as it's based on a stage musical).

I don't know why it took me so long to buy this movie but now I have an excellent Blu-ray copy. Great movie, great cast & memorable music. I have only seen Topol in the lead role & I could not imagine anyone better.

The details of this transfer are good. Way better than dvd. The sound is very good to. It sounded very good on home theater. If you like musicals this is a very good musical. If you don’t like musicals I highly suggest you watch this movie. It is very good.

Decided to replace my “Fiddler on the Roof” DVD with BluRay, so I picked it up while browsing in BestBuy. Picture is clearer and I picked up details that I hadn’t noticed before. Love this movie. Saw it in a theatre in Washington, DC in 1970, and I fell in love with everything about it.
