The story envelops you and has great playstyle. There is more than plenty to do and great story regardless of what side you choose at the beginning. It’s on the harder side comparatively to some of the other titles I’ve owned so keep that in mind

FE3H is a fantastic game with lots of content and phenomenal voice acting. There are three different playable houses each with a unique roster of characters so there’s a ton of replay value.
I was concerned about font legibility issues on the Switch Lite before purchasing but I can report that I’ve had no major problems with that, though YMMV with your eyesight.
Get this if you like turn-based strategy games or social simulators. And even if you’re new to the genre be sure to play on Hard mode to avoid turning the game into a cakewalk — Easy mode is extremely easy.

This game is dope. If you have about 100 or so hours to set aside, get ready for a fun adventure. There is a lot to learn here and more content than you could imagine. So many systems and gameplay loops that will get you hooked after a while. I recommend casual mode for those who want to keep their characters and not have to reload saves and redo battles that are 40+ minutes long. Permadeath is tough loss! I
This game rules, check it out. It’s likes X Com but with a Persona aesthetic. If that sounds like you, definitely pick this one up.

Loving this game, I have not completed it yet but the levels I have done play beautifully. I can highly recommend this if you like strategy games. I am not a pro gamer and the difficulty is not too hard on me just yet.

I'd never played a Fire Emblem game prior to Three Houses, but now I can safely say I'm looking forward to the upcoming DLC and whatever game comes next.
Three Houses is a turn-based strategy RPG focusing on your silent protagonist, Byleth (or whatever you name them), and the students of the titular three houses of Garreg Mach monastery. You choose one of the houses in the beginning of the game after interacting with the house leaders and their classmates, and then follow a storyline revolving around whichever house you chose.
I've completed two different routes through the game, and there was a surprising level of variance between the two. They do share several similar missions, but it certainly does a lot more than just creating a template and inserting the different characters' names depending on the route for all of them. However, certain story elements aren't as well resolved in one route as they might be in another.
On the topic of the characters, you get to know not just the students of your house, but also the members of the other houses, and the members of the monasteries staff. You can even recruit students from other houses if you have high enough Support level with them, and have a high enough level in certain skills. So you could theoretically choose the Blue Lions at the start and get every single other student in your house, with the exception of the other house leaders.
As for the gameplay, it's pretty fun. You move individual units around a grid-based map in order to take down your enemies, and they'll do the same. Your units can each acquire classes that'll increase the speed at which they develop certain skills, grant them various buffs, and some even allow them to use magic. You also have access to an ability called Divine Breath, which allows you to rewind a couple of terms back, in case a unit dies or you feel like you made a bad move.
Overall, the game is fun and accessible, but perhaps a bit too easy. I haven't played the higher difficulties, but from what I've heard from series veterans, the higher difficulties are still easier than one would expect, primarily due to the introduction of the Divine Breath mechanic, and the fact that enemies will telegraph when they'll move to attack a unit when you're deciding where to move them.
In spite of this, I'd still recommend the game to anyone who has a Switch. I found myself captivated with numerous characters I thought I wouldn't be able to care about less, to the point that I'd spend several hours grinding just to increase as many Support levels with them as I could. And the lower difficulty level made it easy for me as a series newbie to get into it.
Thank you for reading.

I've always been a little intimidated by how complex Fire Emblem games seem to be, but Three Houses is very approachable. Playing on Normal (with permadeath turned off) let me learn the ropes quickly, and now I kinda wish I had chosen Hard difficulty because I've been able to make some powerful (perhaps overpowered) units.
Great music, great characters, and since there are 3 different story paths you can take, in theory you're getting 3 great games in one. The visuals aren't great, especially in handheld mode, but since this is a strategy game, mediocre graphics don't drag down the experience.

GAME
This is one of the best RPGs I've played on the Switch. The gameplay is very fun. I had only played one other Strategy RPG game, yet I was able to play this game easily. The story with its three paths offer a lot of variety. All of the characters are very likeable and have great voice acting. You will have a great time playing this game.
QUALITY
The game was in perfect condition and the case looked like it wasn't even touched.

The latest Fire Emblem game is fantastic. Many of the commands and menus been streamlined and it is easy to understand for a beginner. It is packed with TONS of content and has multiple pathways, which allows for replayability. Also, the sections in the monastery break up some of the monotony and is refreshing for long time fans of the series. If you’ve never played a previous game in the series do not fret. You’ll understand the story as it’s entirely new.

This game blew my expectations. I came in completely new to this franchise and in the end I became a devoted fan. The story and characters are absolutely engrossing and the combat is fun. The different paths you can take the story also give it great replay value. This is honestly one of my favorite Switch games. If you like role playing games with an emphasis on fun, likable characters, look no further.

Absolutely fantastic game! I'm about 10hrs in and completely sucked in. Great characters, great voice acting, great gameplay, and an intruiging story combines to make a very enjoyable experience that has its hooks in me. I would recommend this game to hard core fans, and new fans alike. It does a great job teaching you every mechanic, so don't worry about being overwhelmed if this is your first Fire Emblem game, just dive on in!

Having never played a fire emblem before I was delighted when I discovered this. Great game, good story, good cast, voice acting on almost everything. Your actually getting three games in one as you can play any of the three different stories and have a completely different experience.
I highly recommend this.
Pro tip, play sparingly or risk wife aggro.... she will be mad she has to wait to play.

This game is filled with great voice acting, action and humor. Your classic Fire Emblem combat fused with colorful characters and a story to make you go “whoa”. Lots of fun activities to do in game and the ability to connect online to see what other players tend to favor makes it interesting each playthrough. Easily the best in the series and once you start, you can’t put it down! 11/10!

For longtime fans of Fire Emblem (FE), 3 Houses has lots to offer, yet may not be what those players are necessarily wanting in a FE game. However, the differences are not bad, just more akin to Persona with the first half of the Monastery with the school simulation which depending on what one likes, can be enthralling or quite boring.
The difficulty even on hard classic, is much less than in previous games. There is much to like in the characters and stories, ss well as the new battle mechanics.
For these things, 3 Houses seems more suited for newcomers to FE, but doesn’t fully alienate longtime fans.
Definitely check the game out if you have any interest in 3 Houses as there is lots of content to experience in it.
The worst part so far is the poor font choice for menus & dialogue.

Currently on my first playthrough and about 70 hours in, and there is still a lot of story left. Not to mention the other storylines I have to experience after. The gameplay is pretty fun, it's a standard fire emblem strategy game, however you can choose the classes for each character and what they get to be. This allows for a healer to become a wyvern rider, or vice versa so you can make anyone be whatever you want. The story is very interesting so far, and there's a lot of depth to it. Even when I did feel the story to get kinda slow, there's a major event that gives it a different feel, and now there's a different objective. It's a very fun strategy game, definitely more for the older teens as certain parts are pretty complex and in depth. This is definitely going to be on my top 3 games for the switch.

I haven't played Fire Emblem since the Gamecube, so I'm a bit out of date, and there is certainly a lot new to me here to confuse me a little as a got started. But the game's pretty new-plater friendly, featuring a casual mode that eliminates the stress of Fire Emblem's permadeath mechanic (there's still a classic mode for people who enjoy that kind of thing) and several difficulty options for all levels of experience. The early battles can bit a little tough, as you are fighting bandits that often hit twice against your students who haven't learned any real abilities yet, but once you gain a few levels and everyone starts getting their classes the game becomes opens to more aggressive tactics. The characters, while not the most fleshed out of the JRPG slice-of-life sims I've played, are at least distinct and interesting enough to want to form bonds with. There's multiple story paths based on what house you pick, so the game's got a lot of replayability if that's a selling point for you.

Perfect turnbase strategy game. This is the first Fire Emblem game I have played and so far about 10hours into the game and I’m enjoying the combat and storyline. The three different houses to choose from seems like it tells a different story point of view for each so the replay value is very high.

Intelligent Systems really put a lot of work into making the characters develop and have hidden depths. Strategy is good, especially with the open-ended direction you can take your units in, but it's a bit too easy in Hard Classic, although optional paralogue maps and the late game ramp up the difficulty.
There are three (four?) routes. In part 1, where you teach at the school, the story is mostly the same but the other characters have different comments depending on which house you pick. In part 2, the story and maps are very different from each other.
This is a very meaty game. I beat my first playthrough in around 50 hours. There is a New Game Plus for more replayability. Highly recommend.
