This is my first Fire Emblem game. I’m new to the tactical genre, but I’m enjoying the gameplay so far. My favorite part of the game is the characters and their personalities/stories. I’m nowhere close to completing my first route, and expect plenty of replay value. The shipping was slightly delayed but my copy was still in great condition!

Fire emblem is a great entry to the series for newcomers. Although I have played some of the older games, I confess that I was never motivated to actually finish them. Some of the older games on the 3DS also have some weird anime tropes. But I am happy to say that this game treats it world and characters seriously. And boy, are there so many characters to meet and recruit as part of your journey as a teacher! I actually was able to get 3 of the 4 endings and enjoyed this very much. The strategy gameplay is great and the story is good as well. If you go for more endings this game will be 100 hour or more.

This is different from past Fire Emblem games for a home console, but it is so much better. You get to communicate and build relationships with characters, and the classic fighting method like in past games. Wonderful story lines and I love that you get to make different decisions throughout different game plays. Lots of options, which is a great change! I am very impressed with this game! Highly recommended!!!

With an epic story and over 3 story lines to tackle! I’ve barely scratched the surface for all the content this game offers even though I’ve put 60+ hours in! Stay away if you dont like dialogue because this game is Jam packed with conversations and all wonderfully voice acted. The challenge in strategy is clever and engaging but not difficult like the previous games in the franchise! Highly recommended!

A new take in Fire Emblem

The new Fire Emblem changed a lot from the previous ones. The gameplay is interesting, you can recruit a ton of units and train them before battles. Only issue is that normal mode might get too easy later on, hard does get easy if you grind a lot. A new harder mode was released, it's a much better challenge. I do prefer Fates Conquest's gameplay than this one, but that's personal preference.

I have played this style of game for decades with final fantasy tactics being my favorite. The inclusion of a similar job system in this game combined with the fire emblem stories, removal of weapon triangle, and removal of marriage have made this my new top for the genre. Graphics could use some improvement looks like it was built for 3ds then changed late in development to the switch.

SPOILER FREE REVIEW I love the Fire Emblem franchise. I couldn't say enough about this game to sell it more than a critic could. Metacritic speaks for itself, and this game is phenomenal. It reminds me of the Persona series in terms of the life simulator, especially Persona 5. However the turn based strategy and the house you choose is really dominate for the story line.

Fantastic Entry into the Fire Emblem Series

A game stuffed with content to the point of being overwhelming. The characters, voice acting, and story are very well done. A must-play for any fans of Fire Emblem or turn-based combat, but the story and characters and somewhat lower difficulty from previous games make the game much more accessible to newcomers. Overall a lot of fun!

If you like strategy games and Harry Potter this game could be for you. The school and house structure of the game is very reminiscent of Harry Potter and the strategy gameplay is really challenging and enjoyable. For my first Fire Emblem game I thought the story was good and you can experience it in multiple ways by playing with all three houses.

Fire Emblem "Dinasty" games are the only ones that reach the end of the game, seeing the credits and next week I am back again setting up a different character just to see the variation in the storyline. Graphics, controls, animation sequences, Character buiding personalities trhough the game, strategy, turn-based are just awesome.

Fire Emblem has really stepped it up with this entry and I'm loving he improvements that have been made to the series due to whats capable on the Switch, The story is engaging and while there is a lot there, if you just want to focus on the battles, you can. I recommend this to all Fire Emblem fans and gamers who love a good strategy game.

I really enjoyed playing this game. I have been a fan of Fire Emblem ever since the GBA games, and although I didn't play the previous console games (RD and PoR) I was really anticipating the latest console game. The story is pretty great, and I think the best aspect of this game is the replayability as there are 3 different houses and each gives more detail to the story.

Never played the strategy style RPG before so the combat was very new to me. Took some time to get used to but once I had the hang of it I loved it. Graphics were good with an occasional hiccup here & there. Sound was great, all conversations were voiced. Loved the story enough that I immediately started a second play through after finishing.

This game is an absolute masterpiece. Right from the get-go, the action begins and a new story is beginning to unfold for our three troublesome houses. When I play this game, I am heavily reminded of Harry Potter, because this game like Harry Potter was divided into different houses that the students chose. The game gives me the feeling of both something new and similar.

Totally worth the twelve year wait! Combination Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and tactical JRPG. Normally I'm the type (a nerd!) to turn the voice acting to Japanese and leave the text in English but the the voice acting in this game is great. You feel like you're watching a beautifully drawn anime. All around phenomenal experience! You need this game in your life!

If I’m to be honest, I’ve loved the fire emblem series for a very long time. It’s no doubt an amazing game and is a great continuation to the series thus far. My realistic review of this is that Fire Emblem is perfect for people who have the time to play it. When you’re a bit younger and have fewer responsibilities, the heavy front load of the game is fantastic to dive into. Now that I’m working full-time, it’s very difficult to get into because you don’t feel that you’re putting enough time into it to really reap the game is trying to offer. Though it’s rich in story and content, it may be a bit too dense for people limited with time that are in the fence about picking it up for $60. Hopefully, I do play it soon :(

I was surprised to see how much effort went into this game. All the students have a LOT of voice work, and most of the characters are fairly likable and well written (for the standards of something like this). There's also a lot of content. I took my time, but my first playthrough was a good 50 hours. With 4 routes to play, the game is an amazing value.

Three Houses tells an interesting story that once hooked, will require multiple playthroughs to see the entirety of it. I put over 50 hours into my first game before starting a new path. There's a lot to read if you want to learn more about the characters but requires putting in the time and effort to train each one.
