This was a great addition to the series. I have been player the Fire Emblem games since they released in the states and this is one of my favorites. The Persona-style weekly schedule adds a new form of pacing to the series. Allowing for a strong amount of downtime but allowing it to fill constructive and interactive, instead of flashy filler. Each character feels personable and has the Fire Emblem draw that makes you want to keep them around throughout the story. Gameplay is both refreshing and familiar. Adding in the classic Fire Emblem feel with a splash of new dynamics, such as time manipulation. The story is fascinating and draws you in from the opening cutscene. Making you want to uncover the mysteries that the game has in place for you. Aesthetically, this game is gorgeous clearly, but the art style has a look that feel will last for sometime. It also gives you a strong Harry Potter vibe while at the same time respecting the roots of the Emblem series. I would highly recommend this game newcomers and veterans of the series. And don't just wait for a sale, if you can, of course. This game is worth every cent and every hour of play.

I've been playing Fire Emblem since it first came stateside on the GBA. I love the format of the older ones, so I wasn't sure at first how I would feel about the Professor side of the gameplay versus battling. Turns out it's a lot of fun! And helps break things up a bit in between battling. Deciding how to educate and upgrade your characters while balancing their inherent skills and interests is quite fun and there are lots of ways to customize their abilities. At first I wasn't sure I liked any of them, but they way to learn more about them and their backstory is actually surprisingly good. The game made me care more about them than I thought I would. That stuff is a nice compliment to the battling, which is as enjoyable as ever and there are plenty to take on. Really happy with this entry in the series, it's getting me hooked on Fire Emblem all over again!

Pretty fun game, you can play through the story multiple times and have new experiences each time. Can easily suck away 120+ hours of your life. Can be slow to get into if you aren't familiar with the series.

The story in this game is incredible and each time you play, you only get to hear about it from one angle. The gameplay and battle mechanics are very fun, though the game is not ultra challenging if you are familiar with the genre. There are a few difficult spikes but they are usually manageable.

I’ll start by saying this is my first fire emblem game so I can’t compare to the rest of the series. That being said, its very easy to get hooked on. Between leveling up your units and unlocking cutscenes to reveal more about each character’s personality, you feel more attached to each character making the grinding feel more rewarding. Each house has a different story line, and one house has 2 different story lines, it really entices you to explore each house. However, this game can become really long; I completed 2 houses and am just going to watch videos on the rest since it took me about 190 hours already, but I’m still curious to know how the third house story line unfolds. Luckily it’s on the switch so it’s easy to play in short spurts

If you’re into great character development with awesome story arch’s coupled with amazing strategy tactical battles, this is the must own Switch title for you. Expect hundreds of hours of gameplay between your choice of 3 different houses.

Really enjoying this game on my first playthrough. I believe it has about 150 hours of content if you play through each House's perspective. Great graphics, solid story, and tactical game play that stays true to the core fire emblem systems.

Going into this game, I was nervous about whether I’d actually play it. I’ve tried playing Fire Emblem games before, and while I liked what little I’d played, my typical pattern was to start the game, play for a couple hours, and never touch the game ever again. For a brand new $60 console game, I was worried I wouldn’t get my money’s worth. Then I played through a whole route of the game, 80 hours, in a week and a half. Needless to say, I’ve gotten my money’s worth. This is a big game with a lot to do: if you want to complete all of the story routes, expect to be playing for a minimum of 200 hours. I found the story and characters to be surprisingly gripping, and from what I understand the gameplay is mostly a solid improvement on the Fire Emblem formula, although I wish that inventory space wasn’t so limited and that the menus weren’t kind of confusing/a hassle at times. Also, Black Eagles is best house, and you cannot change my mind.

Great story and turn based strategy gameplay. Good replay value as you can choose to ally yourself with 3 different houses in the game. Each playthrough has a different take on the overall story depending on the house you choose and the choices you make.

Never expected I’d be using that title for Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but for me, it was the game of the year. The relationship development between characters is so intrinsic and really pulls you into the story. Classic fire emblem tactics and strategy, but I love that you get to determine the path that your students take and pretty much determine their development and what they become. I play a lot of games, especially games as a service (Destiny 2, Battlefront 2, Final Fantasy XIV), and Fire Emblem: Three Houses is one of the most complete and encapsulating adventures of video gaming I’ve played in a long time. I’m so surprised by how much I loved this game because Fire Emblem has always been fun, but I’ve never been the most Die-Hard fan. I promise if you appreciate Harry Potter, medieval fantasy, or even chess, you will genuinely enjoy this game without regret.

A great game for both newcomers and long time fans! The school aspect is a great start to really growing and learning the characters. Then in fashion of the jump from Path of Radiance to Radiant Dawn, you really get to experience that growth with the characters. Some of the extra activities from newer titles like Awakening and Fates come together in a more sensical way while doing away with some of the more over the top distractions. The temptation of replay value is tremendous while surpassing Fates extortionist attempt at getting you to come back for more. It feels like a true evolution of the series, with so much new to learn, it really keeps this fresh for the fans while being an excellent entry for new players! Classic permadeath is available or you can relax a bit and enjoy the satisfying Casual mode that allows you to focus more on the great gameplay. Turn based tactics for the win!

80 hours for a FE game has been about par for the course in entries like Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, at least for completists like me. And that's what the developer promises for just one of the House paths here. The issue some fans may have is the monastery school segments which can easily take up three-fourths of that time. There is tons of stuff to do, ranging from fetch quests to fishing to giving gifts to increase the bond with your students or helping recruit others. But the deeper I play (probably 20-plus hours in now) the more repetitive the process gets. It's mostly fun, but things like finding the owners for lost items can be very time-consuming and tedious. In short, this game falls victim to having too much busy work that gets in the way of its story progress and of course the focus on tactical battles the franchise is known for. Not saying it's all bad or that I'm against Nintendo trying new mechanics, but it does come off as having a lot of filler. For what it's worth you can skip the monastery parts and let the game handle your characters' progress, but neither approach really feels right, at least to me.

I've been a long time fan of the series but this is my first fire emblem game for a home console, and I have got to say Intelligent Systems has knocked it out of the park. I've have done two playthroughs (1st as the Blue Lions, 2nd Golden Deer) and enjoyed my time very much. The gameplay is similar to what you'd expect from fire emblem but it has some quality of life improvement and a little more freedom on how to customize your units' roles. Story-wise, this game has some great lore and characters which makes this fantasy world very interesting, and as you finish the story with your choosen leader and thier respective classmates you'll soon want to replay this game again but with a different faction to see how the story will unfold differently.

Great story with addictive one more battle gameplay. Strategic battles are awe inspiring compared to the older 3ds entries. You must be willing to invest serious time because it will take upwards of 50 hours to get through your first play through. Offers three different story lines from different house leaders perspectives that really pushes the replay value on this epic strategic JRPG. Highly recommended for any JRPG lover.

I went into this game thinking it would be mostly combat, like Fire Emblem Heroes for mobile. But it's actually a much deeper, richer game with an engaging story that actually makes you CARE about the figures you're moving around on the battle, and try really hard not to lose them. And to be clear, that's not a bad thing. I don't really like anime, and this game is in that style, but I like it anyway. There's so much replay value to it, too, since you can pick four different main routes that are all distinct and that's even before DLC comes into play. Highly recommended.
