Honestly, I didn't really know what I was getting into when I bought this one. I heard great things and decided to give it a shot. Turns out, the reviews and talk were right. I've been having a great time with this game. It's long and has lots of content, especially if you go around talking to all the students between each battle. The strategy in battles is fun, and if you like the social aspect of the Persona series, this game really brings that out with all the interactions you can have with the students.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an excellent game. I have enjoyed the many hours I have devoted in this game, and regret nothing. Dialogue is interesting, the game play is engaging, and the characters and their side stories add more depth to the main story. The addition of the Battalions in the battles adds some complexity as well. Overall, it’s a great turn based battle system game, where the decisions you make can affect the story or the perception of the story, in small or large ways.

If you like either tactical RPGs, RPGs, fire emblem series games, persona 5 or the like then you will love this title. Personally I favor the traditional turn based RPGs and gave this a chance based on the Persona 5 type content in daily planning and it has completely consumed me. I now feel as though I favor the tactical rpg approach. Plenty of content in this game and future dlcs to give it life for a long time to come. I'm not even finished with my first house and already planning my second playthrough.

I have been playing fire emblem games for 15 years and this title did not disappoint. There are so many new features that even experienced players will be surprised by how much this series is still able to bring. That being said, the normal difficulty mode is extremely easy, made for children and very casual gamers. If you are an experienced player, I suggest that you start at least with “hard” and “classic”

I've been playing Fire Emblem since Blazing Blade came out on GBA. This is by far the best one I've ever played! It's also a nice game to introduce anyone new to the Fire Emblem series. There is so much to do in this game. You can easily spend 100+ hours alone in one playthrough. This game has replayability. It's easy to understand and every minute is fun. The voice, music and gameplay are all fantastic. You don't want to miss this out. It is an incredible game that every gamer should own!

This is a fantastic game for any Fire Emblem fan or those who love Strategy RPGs. I've only played through one storyline so far but I look forward to trying the others eventually. Some may not enjoy the amount of time in the monastery with all its simulation aspects but I enjoyed it all, interacting with all the characters, learning details on life and backstories. This has been well worth all the time spent.

Really good game, albeit a slow burn, lots of decisions to make and dialogue to read before actually getting into battles in the grid-based strategy game. If you want straight action and strategy this may not 100% be what you're looking for. If you want to get into the story, characters and some Persona-lite aspects such as time management and relationship building this could be a great fit. FYI - I've been playing with 10 tabs of guides and walkthroughs up to get everything I can and min-maxing my units (students). Graphics - Mostly acceptable, some animations look meh with limited or janky movement and playing on TV can bring a lot of jagged edges and frame rate hits at the central hub. Actual battles seem a bit better though 3/5 Gameplay - Good tactical turn-based gameplay, Lots of ways to build your units and roster to be completely different from everyone else's 5/5 Story - Interesting story, lots of turns with expected and unexpected events, replayability and the drive to see the other houses and students points of view 5/5

Basically Three Houses' story is Fates' done right (or at least done better)--you're forced to choose a path, with there being no obvious good or bad ones (and each house has a mostly likeable group of students), and without some of the absolute nonsense that plagued Fates' plot. On top of this, the game introduces new things that manage to hit that sweetspot of keeping it from being a carbon copy of previous games while not being awful additions. Has solid replay-ability as well.

I finished one of the multiple possible routes on 9/28/19, less then a month after I got it with a little over 70 hours of game time. I rarely ever put so much time into a single game before, but this was one of the best experiences I have had with a video game. The gameplay, story, wide range of detailed characters, and the way you can influence the path the game takes is all top notch. I do not expect a better game for the Switch to come out for a very long time.

If human beings lived longer, they would have the time to enjoy the rich amount of content in this game. With 3 stroylines and so many characters to befriend along the way, this is a must play for FE fans. The story is stupendous. The gameplay is excellent. The added features will make you feel like every day that passes in game is full of purpose and it's rewarding to develop relationships with the in game characters.

I really love the RPG/Strategy game play. I really liked Advanced Wars back in the day and this is like that except with individual characters and a bit more depth in terms of what moves/gambits you use. The part I love is that the story has has a great cast of quirky characters (and voice actors) that all interact with each other (which is dependent on the house you are in and whether you recruit them or not) and through the game play you become attached to them (although it is kind of anime tropey, but I liked it in this case because it can be enduring). Granted there are some flaws more in relation towards the end game (I can't say too much without spoilers) but the fault is more so that I wanted more with my house play-through (and variety of maps) even though I got a good 100 hours of game play with just one house alone. The story does have a lot of mystery with surprises that happen along the way and to get the full picture, multiple play throughs are required which made it my GOTY for 2019 since it shows multiple view points of characters that are not "good/bad" per se but human in that they each have their own goals that they want to pursue. Those goals may seem noble (and personal) but require great sacrifices that would be interpreted as evil. In the end how you view the characters aligns with your perspective and whether the means do justify the ends. This was my first FE game and it has got me interested in playing past titles. My hope is that future releases will be even better and that could be more possible if more people get into it.

I’ve been waiting for this game a long time and was rewarded with one the best strategy RPGs I’ve ever played. Great characters great story and the school aspect works really well. Battles of course are great which is a staple of fire emblem and the new additions like battalions and combat arts mesh really well without making you overpowered. Overall worth the wait and can be enjoyed by newcomers and veterans of the series.

I finished my first playthru last night. It took 60s because I loved micromanaging all the character stat growths and doing all the slice of life moments and building relationships at the main base/academy in between the main story beats and epic story battles. The characters are engaging and fun, and depending on how the story is played, a best friend in 1 playthrough might be an enemy in a different playthru A major selling point of this game is that the player can make choices, build relationships, and customize characters in a way that affects the story. In order to get the full story, it's recommended that players play it 4 times (3 with the different houses, then 1 major plot choice in Black Eagle route). I'm excited to play the other routes and am glad FE3H has a "new game +" mode so I don't have to build everything from scratch again (note: only these point things called "renown" and "statue point level" (foundational stat boosters for all characters) are carried over between playthrus... not money, character level, etc -- but these can be acquired at the beginning of the game through the renown that is carried over from each playthru) However, FE3H isn't for everyone. It's a turn based strategy role playing game with a lot of "slice of life" moments. Luckily there is an option to auto-level up and auto-skip through the non-battle/non-essential story moments -- (but those are the funnest parts of the game!) Long story short: this game is well worth the price especially for the amount of hours that players can put into it.
