Replaced my Nest Protect with a First Alert and it works great, I didn't know that these devices expires in 10yrs and Nest Protect were discontinue. These work seamlessly on the Nest and Home app but it has its own app.

I’m very happy with this First Alert hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detector. I had to swap to this unit due to Nest Protect no longer available, Follow the instruction and setting up in first alert Resideo is very smooth. I was able to integrate with both Nest and Alexa. However, the quality of the unit (design, material, etc) is nowhere near the nest protect while it costs about the same. At least it uses the same bracket. Opt for a cheaper model unless you are trying to replace Nest Protect.

Easy to install. Tools me literally 10 minutes taking my time. The only downside is I miss the google nest smoke detector. I know this one replace the nest but I love the interface with nest. Beside that solid smoke detector

I bought this to replace my old detectors that had expired, and the process couldn't have been easier. Since my home was already hardwired for First Alert/BRK units, this was a simple plug-and-play swap. The wiring harness fit perfectly, so I didn't have to call an electrician or mess with wire nuts. I love that it covers both smoke and carbon monoxide in one unit, which cuts down on the clutter on my ceilings. The side battery drawer is a huge plus—changing the backup battery is a breeze without having to take the whole unit down. Highly recommended for a quick and safe upgrade.

Nice that it uses same mount and wiring as previous Nest Protect, just wish it had the path light feature. Seems expensive for what it is but can’t put a price on safety I guess.

This would have been better if First Alert had cloned the Nest technology and features. I miss the nightlight. I think that this will be an adequate replacement for my Google Nest detectors.

Bought this because the original nest protect expired. Easy to set up and install with the adapter cable for prior nest protect and this first alert smoke detector. App easy to use and to add to google home.

I'm sure this smoke and CO detector works well enough for it's intended safety purposes but as far as it being marketed as a Nest Protect replacement it's missing some of the convenience features that were on the Protect due to the lack of a motion sensor. I really miss the path light feature. Also the speaker on this pales on comparison to the Protect. Also it requires another app and account in addition to the google home account.

The detector is easy to install and setup. The voice used on this device is not as clear as the Nest device it replaced.

Nice that it is compatible with existing nest smoke detectors. Like the interconnected aspect. Didnt realize hoe many features nest originally had i.e. night light, interconnected without red wire. These dont check every box, but most.

After 10 year I needed to replace my Nest Protect Smoke Alarms with a newer version from First Alert. It was quite easy. Like the look and ability to work in conjunction with the google home app. The only downside is that the new alarm does not have the nightlight feature that was in the Nest Protect!

So far, so good. It has integrated with my google home setup and can communicate with my remaining nest devices. The two main downsides to this (which we can't do anything about if you want a replacement for a Nest smoke detector) is the appearance (this looks bland and boring) and that you need to use the First Alert app to setup the device and not google home.

East to replace the Nest Detector with this model. Only issue is that it tends to drop off my WIFI from time to time, and it’s near the access point. Other than that, seems to work great.

This is a good product as a replacement for the Nest Protect. However, it should have the path lights like the Nest Protect.

Good replacement for my Nest smoke detector. Very easy to install as it fits perfectly in the slot and is compatible with google home
