We love the Fitbit Ace LTE for our child. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the watch itself is very easy for a kid to use. Everything feels responsive and snappy, with no lag or frustration. The sound quality is surprisingly good for a kids’ watch, and we haven’t had any issues so far. Communication has been clear and reliable, which gives us peace of mind. What really makes this watch stand out is that it’s a great alternative to buying a phone. Our child gets the ability to stay connected without the distractions or responsibilities of a smartphone. Kids and screen time and safety is always a huge concern for my family. This Fitbit LTE ACE is a great way to find a minimal technology to help with a young child. Setup. Setup was super easy. Charged out of box. Downloaded the Kid Fitbit ACE on android. The 2 ways to install is 1 as a wearer and 1 as a child. The 2 options have completely different options. The most options is if you select 1 as a child. This allows you to be able to track location, movement, contacts etc. We were lucky to get this watch before we went on a trip so I was able to test fully. Day 1 with my kid playing with it and calling and texting and playing the on watch game cause huge battery drain. The first day within 8 hours it drained down to 20%. The following days along with travel it drained down to 40%. Keep in mind this including hopping on an airplane etc. After we got home and it was just used for minimal text and calls it had 60% left at the end of the day. The LTE connection drains the battery. I know because my kid had the older ACE non LTE and it would last for days in between charges... So keep battery in mind with this watch. Back to the design. My kid likes the design. It was easy to put on and use. The different options and interface and was really nice and cute. There are games he was able to mess with and movement games too. Band was comfortable and had a nice color. Box was eco friendly. Texting and calling pre designated contacts was seamless. The texting requires the other recipient to have the app installed on their phone. For the intended purpose I think this watch is pretty good and fets the job done. Especially if you don't want to give them a full cell phone yet but want to be able to track and contact them.

The watch is used by my daughter who’s out more and more but not yet needing a phone. It’s hard to find something she’ll wear and also something easy to setup and control how to use it. So far the Fitbit ace fits the bill as a great option for parents with kids that don’t yet need a phone. The setup itself was very easy, just plug it in and turn it on, then download the app. You’ll need a google account to sign in and then create a kids profile. The connection to the watch is easy too, you’ll just enter a code and get it paired. It was a little odd as after setup it looked like it was ready to go, but it was doing an update so was a little stuck, though after I waited a few min it said it got an update and everything worked great. You can then set up the contact your child is able to call or text with. So far it was just my wife and I, and when making the call, it comes in just like a phone call but through the app. The messages are also in the app. This seems to work OK since we both have it to see where she is, but if you had someone not in the family not sure how it works. It’s nice as we can see her location as she is around and easily communicating with her. It also lets her have a watch and there are a few games she can play. So far, we’re enjoying it.

My son likes the watch. Easy to use with LTE subscription. I can track his location, call him and text him. Best watch for kid. Highly recommend it

Bought as a Christmas present for our 9-year-old son. He absolutely loves it, and so do his Dad and I! It's super easy to set up and add contacts we've approved. We feel better knowing we can see where he is using the tracking feature and we can text/call him as we are not ready to purchase him a phone. Our son enjoys watching the noodle move as he is active thruout the day. The fishing game is his favorite! Highly recommend!

I really like this watch for my 9 year old daughter, and she loves it. The calls sounds great and the messaging app is also good. I wish it had a feature of calling/messaging another kid who has the same watch, With parental permission of course. You can not do that. It only goes to the parents ace app. To me the plan is pretty good at only $10 a month when paying for the year. It does need to be charged about once a day but also charges up pretty fast. Would definitely recommend this watch for young kids.

As a smart watch user for years at this point ive always wanted to share my satisfaction in the device with friends and family but there was never really anything that hit the spot for use with children.. until now. With a normal smart watch it could potentially have many issues with things like loading the right apps or having difficult parental control or even simply calling people or places without restrictions. Parents you know what I mean when I mention those things its the same feeling you get when you try to figure out if its time for them to have a phone or not. With this watch all of those things and more are just resolved in the easiest best ways possible and you DONT NEED A PHONE TO USE IT! I had the pleasure of giving this to my 12 year old daughter as an early birthday gift. We set it up together after fitting with the included band. The setup was extremely easy and very very child friendly which was a really pleasant surprise. When going through it you as a parent can select absolutely everything that your child is able to do. You can enable things like location services to track them, allow to text and or call certain contacts you add, even set screen time limits and basically make it useless during school hours so they dont get distracted doing school work which is really awesome. I personally had a google family link account already setup from her having a Chromebook as well which I was able to add the watch to this account perfectly and smoothly. It even integrated right away within our phone apps on my wife and I phones to begin to monitor use immediately. When I say it was the easiest to setup possible it really was. Now she’s had a really good time with the watch itself at this point as it sets realistic goals for both physical activity (such as walk 500 steps to unlock the next level or game) and games that are built in. She was able to create basically an avatar of herself on it that becomes your character she can use to play the games with. Tracking steps, movement, having actual cellular ability to call or text us from a bike ride has been so nice and without worry of her doing questionable things is even more piece of mind. It cannot get any better for a device like this for a child I wish these came out years ago for my older lol. Strap is of good quality. The screen is really high quality and gets BRIGHT and even brighter when in direct sunlight with the settings on for it. It has a swipeable menu that shows you battery life, connectivity etc. Battery life is extremely good we just have her put it on the included charger out in the kitchen before bed and shes excited to put it back on the next day after breakfast again and everything is ready to go with new goals and games ready to play and progress with. It really is a dream come true in a device like this I cant praise it enough.

The water resistance is another big plus—I don’t have to worry if they wear it in the rain or while washing their hands. One area for improvement could be adding more watch face customization options, as they are somewhat limited. Other than that, the Fitbit Ace LTE delivers on everything it promises and more. It’s the perfect tool to keep kids connected and active at the same time. I highly recommend it!

No regrets. ! I have a 9yr old who really doesn't need a cell phone but needed some way to be reached in case I needed to. I did some research to see what options were out there that would suit our needs of simplicity, gps capability, texting and calling and this smartwatch checked all those boxes without breaking the bank. It's a great starter gadget for kids that are too young for the responsibility of a cell phone. My son loves his smartwatch. He is able to text and call without any issues. I would definitely recommend it to fellow parents with kids between 6-11.

Its good and accurate! The Gps works fine and also the phone calls. It helps me with tracking where my son is and if he needs anything he can call me.

Bought for my 8 yr old and she loves it. She can contact me from anywhere and the sound quality is very clear. Love the tracking capability. Battery last for 2 days or more depending on usage

This watch is exactly what we needed for our 10 year old kid this summer. He is becoming more and more independent and this watch gives us the peace of mind to let him roam a bit more. We can track him from the app via GPS, he can text people within his family, call us directly from the watch, and helps him feel safer our there on his own.

My son loved the watch, it motivates him to be active, I liked that it is balanced and not addictive, the only thing I didn't like is that to stay in touch it has to be through the fit bit app, anyone who wants to add him to their contacts needs to download the app and register.

It solves the purpose. Our kid can connect with us without having a mobile phone and none else can connect with her. Only downside is the charging frequency. It should be charged on daily basis. Kid is enjoying the activities and it involves parents too in some of them.

We bought this for our second oldest (6yrs old) since she’s been seeing her older sister with their phone. Since we believe that she wasn’t old enough for a phone yet we chose this route instead. The watch is amazing! Our second oldest enjoys it and truly loves it. Tech: the in app options allow easy use and control. You can even partake in your kid’s challenges/games. The call through app and messaging is easy to use and understand even for my young child. GPS tracking is a nice feature to ensure where your child is as well as the watch alarm locater. Look/feel: My child hates wearing bracelets, bands, or anything that feels constricting around her wrist but she isn’t bothered by the band at all. Use/display: My 6 yr old can easily navigate the display screen and easily read it. The activity tracker keeps her engaged and enjoys the challenges (games). Price: for what it is, it wasn’t too bad in cost even with the annual subscription (allows in app calling and messaging). For some this may be a deterrent, but the annual cost for everything included is t bad at all. Overall: As parents we were skeptical initially since we thought our child may have been too young but they took to it easily and have been able to use it and understand. If anyone of you parents are wondering if or should I purchase this, we say YES. It is the perfect tool and tech.
