Poor quality heart rate monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The smartwatch side of the Fitbit charge is decent but that is not what I bought it for. I was looking for a good fitness tracker with a reliable heart rate monitor. I am very disappointed and extremely frustrated with the Fitbit charge's heart rate monitor. Several times a workout session it will show my heart rate drop off. I will be running on the treadmill and have a steady heart rate of around 155 and suddenly it will drop to 106 on the monitor. I have to take it off, wipe it down and put it back on. Then it reads 155 again. Sometimes I have to do this every few minutes and it is infuriating.

Great for health insurance incentive tracking!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sleep tracking changed my life. This thing is great! Like a lot of tech you have on you constantly, the band connection piece that's actually attached to the fitbit unit is prone to breaking after a year+ making the thing unwearable .... but you can buy that piece w/ new tiny screws & a screwdriver for like 20 bucks on ebay! Guess what? I dont have to buy a new tracker! Its low-tech enough that it doesnt drain my phone battery nor do I have to charge it every day & half b/c its doing a bunch of background stuff & don't even need! It's easy to clean, low profile, can but replacement gerneric brand bands in a 6 pack of fun colors (or black) for $12 on amazon- so affordable! Lastly, it saves me so much money & TIME by auto syncing it w/ my health insurance apps for activity tracking through my job. I dont have to put thay stuff in manually! And it counts everything. Goes towards my incentive dollars. Plus as an ADHDer having a water-RESISTANT watch (do not shower or go swimming w/ this thing, it's NOT waterproof & the claims all the companies make about it's depth resistance or w/e mean literally nothing if you try to find out explicitly what that means lol) has been super helpful for my productivity & keeps me away from using my phone to check time. So helpful! This thing has paid for itself several times over!

Band connector broke
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will never buy another Fitbit. I had a Charge 3 that I loved. There were no issues with it until Fitbit pushed a firmware update. After that it didn't work. The screen flashed and it wouldn't hold a charge. It was a few weeks past the 1 year warranty so I had no recourse. I replaced it with the Charge 4. Seven months later, it just fell off my wrist last night. The piece that connects the band to tracker broke. The pins just sheared off. This one is still in warranty and will be replaced, but based on the many complaints on the Fitbit community forum, I expect it will break again. I have a small wrist and this tracker is larger than the Charge 3. There were gaps between the tracker and the band and I'm sure that put some stress on that piece. The tracker itself worked very well.

Short life
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this April 15, 2021 and by Sept 24, 2021 the connector from the electronic face to the wrist band was broken. So it rendered the item useless as the bands can no longer attach. At the time is feel off my wrist, I was in an art gallery, so the plastic may have been broken for some time. The fitbit I had before this lasted over 2 years. I am not an overly athletic person, I use this to ensure I get my steps in daily. Of course its after 30 days, so I'm out $160.00

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Band broke first and then one month a warranty expired the connection to the band broke off. This is my third Fitbit. They don’t seem to be as durable as the original Fitbit

Broken after 3 months
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the last time we purchase a Fitbit. Both of us have worn them for years but we have to replace them for one reason or another about every other year. This one however takes the cake. After wearing it for about 3 months the posts that hold the band on broke off at the watch body. Replacing the band is no long possible because there is nothing to connect it to. The plastic body is a model one piece with posts molded in to hold the band on. It is useless now.

Absolute trash!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Piece of garbage. This and both of my previous Charge 2s broke! Had this poorly manufactured scrap for about 7 months and the connection from the fitbit to the wristband broke completely off while on a run. Do not plan to but this product or ANY fitbit item again!

Fell apart after warranty expired
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The band connector fell apart after 16 months of light use (weightlifting, running, jump rope). I removed it before showering also. I contacted customer service and was offered a 35% discount coupon. I don't trust their products and will not spend anymore money with them.

Not very durable
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is not very durable. Broke twice since I bought it. Where the bands connect to the pebble is not so sturdy. Overall function and features is nice. Just wish it can endure my workouts.

Fitness tracking for sure
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quality of the Charge 4 is typical fitbit. If you're a fitbit fan you'll love it. The band is easily detachable so you can change up your look in just a few moments. It comes with a large and a small band.. I have a very small wrist but the small band fits my wrist in the third to last hole. It is light weight and comfortable. I wear it all the time unless I'm charging the battery. The battery has a long life and I put it on the charger once a week with about 30 percent of battery left. You activate the face with a push button on the left side. After the face is activated you can scroll through the other features. The Charge 4's face is not color and if you want a different display face you have a very, very limited number of faces to choose from. The Charge 4 is not a smart watch. It is a fitness tracker and provides a lot of information. You won't get the benefits from this tracker unless you download the app on your phone. I am amazed at the amount of information that you can drill down to in the app. I haven't purchased the fitbit premium account and don't know if the extra info it provides is worth the cost. The scroll feature on my Charge 4 is a little wonky and often requires multiple attempts to get to the next screen. This isn't that big of a deal for me because I have most of the info a want on the main screen. It would be nice if there was a sensor that caused the screen face to light when you twisted your wrist towards your face, but I'm ok with pushing the button. If you're looking for a high quality fitness tracker that provides a lot of information, you should check out the Charge 4. I got mine on sale and I'm impressed with what I got for the money.

Almost Lasted A Full Year
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lasted almost a full year before the battery failed and attachments for straps started to go. Luckily it was still under warranty. Was great up to that point with no issues. Battery consistently lasted 5-7 days, seemed to pretty accurately track steps, and I loved the sleep tracker. Wore this swimming in lakes, pools, and hot tubs with no issues. Also used it while rock climbing inside and outside and only have very minimal wear/scratches on the Fitbit. When using the warranty I did take their offer to get 50% off of a different product instead of getting a replacement though. Upgrading to the Charge 5 instead of getting another one of these. Mostly because of the new trackers on the 5. Overall a pretty good product, but a bit disappointing that it didn't last longer, especially for the price. The warranty process was very quick and easy though.

very useful for tracking steps and sleep
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to track steps but also to track exercise. For tracking steps it does great, about what my phone does but now I can leave the phone at home (gasp!) when I go for a walk. It also tracks exercise accurately but will miss the first 5 minutes or so if I let it passively "notice" I'm exercising, if I tell it I'm going to go for a bike ride or a hike it will get every step. This is pretty nice. The web app will show you the route you took and lots of details but the phone app doesn't - there's a place for improvement. Ditto the sleep monitor - this shows how long I am in deep sleep vs REM sleep vs awake (more than I thought) and total sleep. Again you can only see this info on the web app, not on the phone app. If you just use it to tell the time, read texts, and passively track what you do the battery lasts 4 days easily, you can stretch it out to 5 or 6 days if you don't check your texts with it. Overall it's a good investment for an entry level exerciser who wants to motivate to exercise more.

Best Charge upgrade yet!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest version of the Fitbit Charge is definitely worth the upgrade! I was hesitant at first but after doing a little research, I decided to give it a shot and boy was I not disappointed. With the updated display screen, you can do more on the actual device itself instead of having to change most settings and respond to notifications on your phone. I especially like the built-in GPS so that I can track myself when I ride my bike, since the Charge 2 I had only relied on your phone’s GPS which could cut out in the middle of the ride without you knowing. It’s more water resistant, so you can wear it in the shower or while swimming. The battery life is longer, which is great because I sometimes forget to charge it. And it even has Fitbit Pay, so I can use it as a contactless payment if I don’t have my phone or wallet. It also has “Quick Replies” available for text notifications so I can quickly respond with some pre-set replies or even add some of my own. And unlike the Charge 2 which only notifies you for some apps, you can add a whole host of app notifications from your phone. When its time to wind down, you just activate Do Not Disturb mode and Sleep mode so you won’t be woken up in the middle of the night by an annoying notification or have it blind you as it lights up when you move your arm. Definitely worth the upgrade if you prefer the more sleek designs of the Charge series rather than the full smart watch designs.

It's Just Okay
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgrade from the Charge 2 to the new Charge 4. So far, it's just been a so-so experience. I am already on my second Charge 4. The first one was damaged right out of the box. And now this second one has specs of metallic looking dust under the screen. It just seems like the build quality on these is poor. I would exchange it again, but it would be like a lottery at this point in hopes of getting one without flaws. Good stuff: touch screen is very responsive. Tracking is superb. Heart rate monitor seems great. Nice additions with Spotify control and Fitbit Pay. Tracker itself is super light weight - feels like I'm not even wearing one. Great battery life. Built in GPS. Bad stuff: 2 flawed units right out of the box. Screen is impossible to see in direct sunlight, even with the brightness setting as high as it can go. Overall it's a great fitness tracker. I think if I never had these build issues I would have given it 5 stars. But 2 flawed units in a row seems like there is quality issue. If you get one without these issues, you'll be happy for sure.
